Numerous outlets have reported that President Donald Trump warned House Republicans not to touch Medicaid.
“Don’t fuck around with Medicaid,” according to Politico, which heard about the remarks from two people associated with the private meetings.
The Democrats, left, and media have tried to claim that House Republicans will take an ax to Medicaid when all they did was tighten the requirements to avoid fraud.
This made me laugh:
Trump said in response to a question from POLITICO that the hard-liners needed to pare back their demands for deeper spending cuts: “I’m a bigger fiscal hawk,” he said. “There’s nobody like me.”
Yeah, let me introduce you to Rep. Thomas Massie. Oh, wait. Trump already knows about him.
Trump took a shot at Massie, claiming he doesn’t understand government and is a grandstander.
No…Massie understands the Constitution and the government our Founders gave us. He’s the ultimate fiscal hawk and the one person who means it when he says he wants to cut taxes and spending.
Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” barely passed the Budget Committee.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson wants the House Rules Committee to meet and pass the bill within 24 hours.
Johnson hopes the bill hits the House floor on Wednesday.
