AOC Ramps Up Politically-Fraught ‘Abolish ICE’ Messaging Ahead of 2026 Midterms

“I believe that ICE, an agency that was just formed in 2003 during the Patriot Act era, is a rogue agency that should not exist.”

In the aftermath of Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) caving to President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans on the continuing resolution in March, talk has intensified that he should be primaried in 2028, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) being floated as a potential contender.

Though the admittedly early polling shows AOC well ahead of Schumer in a potential primary match-up, she’s been mum on her future plans, which some have suggested may even involve a 2028 presidential run.

Whatever the case may be, in 2025, AOC has once again been putting herself out there on a national level by way of the “fight oligarchy” campaign alongside her fellow socialist, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). In light of that, she’s now viewed, as she was upon her 2019 arrival to Congress, as an emerging Democrat Party leader at a time when the party is, in effect, leaderless and desperate to counter Trump.

So with that in mind, we turn to the woke congresswoman’s latest strategy amid her “Orange Man Bad” tour, which is to call for the abolishment of ICE:

“I believe that ICE, an agency that was just formed in 2003 during the Patriot Act era, is a rogue agency that should not exist,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a fundraising email obtained by Fox News Digital.

[…]

“Why are you considered to be extreme?” Ocasio-Cortez asked in the fundraising email. It’s a strategy often deployed by the progressive New Yorker, according to a Fox News Digital review of Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign emails.

Naturally, the NRCC had something to say about it:

As did the Trump-Vance White House:

“AOC, Democrat Party leader, calls for abolishing ICE. Meanwhile, the brave men and women of ICE get dangerous criminal illegal immigrants off our streets and protect American citizens. Why does AOC want to stop that?” — White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson

[…]

Where is the congresswoman’s concern for her fellow New Yorkers who have been brutally killed, maimed, and raped by criminal illegal immigrants allowed to roam free due to New York’s so-called “sanctuary” policies?

It is indeed risky messaging from the so-called “Squad” leader, considering the 2026 midterms campaign season is not far away, and we’ve seen how Democrats have fared in past anti-law enforcement messaging:

Further, polling shows that a majority of Americans are more in line with tougher border security and illegal immigration measures, not the open borders policies that AOC promotes:

The New York Democrat, who called for the abolition of ICE during President Donald Trump’s first term, also posted content to social media earlier this year advising illegal migrants on how to evade ICE arrests.

[…]

Nearly seven in ten Americans support deporting migrants who are in the country illegally, an Axios-Ipsos poll from January found.

Additionally, 87% of voters approve of deporting illegal migrants with criminal records, according to a New York Times/Ipsos survey conducted in January.

More recent polling taken four months after Trump took office for his second term supports the contention as well.

It will be interesting to see how many Congressional Democrats join her in her call in light of the support Trump maintains on issues like deportations and tightening the border. As always, stay tuned.

She should stick to pole dancing.

She’s not dumb, she made me a great Gin & Tonic. I only had to explain the ingredients to her twice.

How much of a tip did you leave her? I hope it wasn’t words to the effect “Run for Congress”

    diver64 in reply to ztakddot. | May 30, 2025 at 5:10 am

Dumb? She went from waitress to millionaire so is smart enough to do that. I can’t point to anything else she has done, though, especially in Congress except take first class flights around the country with Bernie. Strange since she is supposed to be representing her district in NYC

AOC has “once again been putting herself out there on a national level by way of the ‘fight oligarchy’ campaign”

The oligarchy? You mean, AOC has been out there exposing the Council on Foreign Relations?

Well, good for her. You go gurl!

MoeHowardwasright | May 29, 2025 at 5:24 pm

Of course a former bartender would want illegals here in the USA. Who else is going to be the bar back filling the ice bins and washing the glasses and martini glasses?

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to MoeHowardwasright. | May 29, 2025 at 8:36 pm

Jobs that black Americans won’t do.

According to Crockett, weez dont picks no Mo Cotten.

So, 150 years from now, the anchor baby chitlins of illegals will be demanding reparations for systemic racism against a country that let their illegal parents waltz into a country freely, and got all kinds of goodies.

AOC put on her show at the border, crocodile tears and all!

    Go Matriarchy!

You go girl! While we are at it, I believe the Democrat party should be abolished for impersonating an American organization. But that’s just me.

I fully expect America will have a R in the white house for at least 12 years.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to scooterjay. | May 29, 2025 at 8:37 pm

I wish. But I doubt it.

I agree. And every single executive order that Trump has signed will be rescinded. That’s the problem with governing by executive order instead of legislation.

Hodge in reply to JR. | May 30, 2025 at 9:34 am

That is exactly why the dismantling of the government agencies so swiftly, so violently, and so completely is important.

The complacent over-ripe bureaucracy must removed and replaced or it will return to what it was four years ago.

The idea is that even if the executive orders are overturned, the thinking of those ordered to implement them will be very different than it has been.

I am frequently reminded of the time during the Vietnam war where an Air Force Colonel was asked by the press about the justification for obliterating a village. The village had become a major headquarters for the Viet Cong.

        The Colonel explained,

” It was necessary to destroy the village to save it”

At the time, I didn’t understand it, but now I do…..

Paddy M in reply to JR. | May 30, 2025 at 10:10 am

Indeed, JR. Maybe your fellow cucks in the GOP should try to pass some legislation instead of complaining about the mean old media and OMB all the time.

“That’s the problem with governing by executive order instead of legislation.”

Hmmm. Funny isn’t it, Junior, that you never posted this while FJB and his cabal of unelected minions were ruling via executive order.
        Why is that, I wonder?
Could it be that you’re actually NOT a “life long Republican” but in reality you’re a thickheaded, fuzzbrained Democrat?

henrybowman in reply to JR. | May 30, 2025 at 2:39 pm

If Biden hadn’t done exactly that, Trump couldn’t be undoing his crap now.

Evil Otto in reply to scooterjay. | May 30, 2025 at 7:25 am

Don’t underestimate the GOP’s ability to eff things up.

2smartforlibs | May 29, 2025 at 5:50 pm

Liberals need to learn to read the room.

What’s sort of amusing is that ICE is enforcing the law. Who writes the laws? Congress. And of course AOC is a member of Congress. If she doesn’t like what ICE is doing, her/their proper constitutional role is to introduce legislation to change the laws ICE enforces, and work with her fellow representatives to garner enough support to get her bill enacted. What was she doing the last four years when President Autopen was in office and would have signed her bill into law? Every time she/they whine about enforcement, it should be thrown right back at her that Congress writes the laws, so she should get busy and do her/their constitutional job.

ztakddot in reply to jimincalif. | May 29, 2025 at 6:01 pm

That would require her to actually, you know, work. She can’t have that. She might break a nail or something.

    diver64 in reply to jimincalif. | May 30, 2025 at 5:12 am

Why are you expecting Sandy From The Bronx (D-Bartender) to know how government works?

GWB in reply to jimincalif. | May 30, 2025 at 8:25 am

And, Congress wrote the law that produced ICE as a separate entity (Homeland Security Act). If it’s a rogue agency, then maybe you should repeal part of that act, no?

(BTW, a bunch of conservatives were against things in that act when it was passed, including separating “border protection” and “immigration control” into 2 separate entities.)

AOC reps a CD that voted +32 for Harris. Not a heavy lift to bash ICE in a CD like that. We have similar but opposite CD on the right with reps who also run their yap more than they should about policy preferences that also have zero shot at becoming law. The difference is AOC is the darling of the legacy media, young, photogenic and uses social media to bolster her influence.

God she embarrasses herself everytime she opens her mouth

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to gonzotx. | May 29, 2025 at 8:16 pm

The problem, however, is that she doesn’t know to be embarrassed. She sincerely believes in what she’s saying.

Those glasses do NOT make you look smart sweetie

:”I believe that ICE, an agency that was just formed in 2003 during the Patriot Act era, is a rogue agency that should not exist.”

Our rogue agency (BATF) has been rogue way longer than yours, has done way more damage to the lives and property of actual US citizens like the ones who vote for you (well, not YOU), and “should not exist” due to actual language in the actual constitution, inserted there in 1791. Your party has done jack-all about that for ninety years, and still refuses to abolish it.

Show us some good faith on that issue, and then maybe we can sit down and talk about ICE.

ICE is a combination of U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service under the umbrella of Homeland Security. The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), which combined immigration and naturalization functions, was officially established on June 10, 1933.
In 1891 the first Office of Immigration was established in the Treasury Department, marking the beginning of federal oversight of immigration. How far back does she want to ban this rogue agency? Maybe 1790 when the immigration laws were first written.

The country was better off when this lazy, entitled, narcissistic, shrill and too stupid to succeed in the private sector demagogue-twit was mixing weak martinis, in NYC.

Only in a government sinecure can dim-witted, lazy and entitled demagogue-apparatchiks such as Occasional-Cortex find the wealth and fame that would never be theirs, in the private sector.

NY prefers form over substance. AOC would easily beat Schumer, who has neither.

JackinSilverSpring | May 29, 2025 at 10:54 pm

Once again DemoncRats support the criminal class. This leopard has never changes its spots.

We get it. Communist traitors don’t like it when the laws get enforced.

I’m not so sure she can beat Schumer. The only polls I’ve seen so far, which the left and corporate media are salivating over, have been done either in her district or NYC. The rest of the state isn’t that thrilled with her.

Make AOC a Great Bartender Again.

just formed in 2003 during the Patriot Act era
No, it wasn’t “just formed.” It was incorporated through an act of Congress: the Homeland Security Act. (Removing the US Customs Service from Treasury and splitting it into CBP and ICE.)

a rogue agency that should not exist
No, it’s not rogue. It was created through an act of Congress. Just like the Constitution says.
Of course, that you think it should not exist is an indicator of your hatred of America and desire to subjugate us to a global government. So, sod off, swampy.

promote her message for the next 14 months or so then drop the shoe on it. America voted to close the border they and we have not forgotten what the democrats can do to destroy this country. Let this go alone the same lines as stop pointing out buydens lack of mental awareness until the last minute. that buyden fiasco validated to me that the upper management of the RNC didn’t have a clue how to actually attack democrats but looked for short term political hits.
Let the whackies like AOC have their day and drive normal democrats to the conservative side by the very nature of the abolish ICE stupidity. Stand back Republicans, let them roll.
BTW Republican candidates need to run against the values of the democrat party NOT the candidate opposite them because their opponents WILL vote in lock step with Schumer and Jeffries (who himself is a whacko).

Abolish ICE NO, Abolish AOC YES

AOC is a prime example of why we should never have accepted PR from Spain. It was useful when we had a munitions range on it but no longer. We should either give it back or force them to become independent. Enough already.
