The polls close in Wisconsin at 8 PM CT. The big ticket is the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Wisconsin is a swing state. Trump defeated former VP Kamala Harris only by .86%.
The conservatives have a chance to take the majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court after losing it in 2023:
In the state Supreme Court race, Dane County Judge Susan Crawford and Waukesha County Judge Brad Schimel look to replace outgoing Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, the court’s longest-serving member, who announced last April that she would not seek a fourth 10-year term. Wisconsin Supreme Court seats are officially nonpartisan, but voters as well as the state’s party establishments routinely rally behind certain candidates based on their judicial philosophies and records.
Crawford has the backing of Democrats and progressives, including an endorsement this week from former President Barack Obama. Schimel has support from Republicans and conservatives, including endorsements from Trump and Elon Musk.
According to John Commerford, the executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, the race is particularly important for gun owners because Democrat Gov. Tony Evers has “proposed or signaled” a “litany of anti-gun laws from mandatory waiting periods to red flag gun confiscation laws.”
Granted, the race also received much attention because Elon Musk brought it to light, giving away millions to people who had already voted.
People also view this as a “litmus test” for Trump since he barely won Wisconsin:
But the outcome will also show how voters in one of the most evenly divided battleground states in the nation are feeling about Mr. Trump’s sharp cuts to the federal work force, his crackdown on illegal immigration and the administration’s crusade against diversity initiatives in government programs and higher education. Mr. Trump won Wisconsin by less than a percentage point last November and narrowly lost it in the 2020 election.
“The pendulum swings back and forth in U.S. elections, and I think this election will be a good indicator of whether the pendulum is going to swing back the other way based on Trump’s actions in office,” said Michael Orwig, 40, a federal worker and Schimel supporter who lives in a suburb south of Milwaukee. “This is going to be the first litmus test.”

Can’t stand the fact one Dem run state’s Supreme Court election results can affect We The Peoples Presidential election by way of the backdoor is reprehensible and proves our system has been rigged and twisted for 50 years. One of these judges is a Commie disguised in a black robe…but worse, people will vote for her because people have gotten galactically stupid.
They will keep on counting until they get the desired result….
Yeah, every single time a Trump endorsed candidate loses, it is ALWAYS because of election fraud. It’s so simple!
Aw, shaddup.
It’s reported that Wi voter ID won the day but a fat lot of good that does if she wins.
The way it’s done here in WA is the people approve an initiative and the state supreme court then calls it “unconstitutional.” I’m sure this song and dance routine is coming to WI, if it doesn’t already play there.
Yeah someone’s gonna sue, and then the Wisc SC will rule it to be unconstitutional or some other gibberish to render it null.
Mil ran out of ballots. It is amazing how much cheating you can do.
If the roles were reversed a successful sniper would be employed.
Terrible Terrible news
If it’s close please dont concede
Has he conceded?
Trump really needed to do some rally’s in Wisconsin
What Trump really needed to do was stop alienating fence-sitters with his childish trolling and idiotic ideas like changing the name of the Gulf and “Canada, our 51st state”. Oh yes — he also needed make good on his promises about releasing the Epstein files and not getting into any more wars.
You’re not even in the country, let alone Wisconsin. You have no idea whatsoever why anyone there voted how they did.
“You’re not even in the country, let alone Wisconsin.”
No, but I’m not stuck within the LI comment-section echo chamber, either. I read (online) what some of the people who voted for Trump in November are saying about him now.
I doubt it. People who claim to have voted for him in November but to have turned against him now are usually lying.
If they’re not representative of Wisconsin voters, what you’re reading is irrelevant to this article.
Still on the mean tweets schtick, eh? If only he would be nice, that bad man. Of course, they would play nice back. They have shown it. His adversaries are worse, and play more dirty, but that escapes you as you offer fake outrage.
“His adversaries are worse, and play more dirty”
True. But by acting like a cretinous loudmouth who can’t say 2 words w/o either bragging about himself or deliberately insulting someone, he can make fence-sitters say “a plague on both of your houses”, and sit the elections out.
Trump won Michigan, yet the Republican candidate for the Senate lost. It’s about Trump, not the Republican Party. Many who vote for Trump have disdain for a party that refuses to fight, and concern trolls, such as yourself, are blind to this fact. Nobody who voted for Trump gives a sh!t about what he says about Canada, anti-Semitic concern trolls notwithstanding.
“anti-Semitic”
That accusation has become the Conservative’s version of D’s “When in doubt, cry ‘Racism!!’ “.
Evidence for this?
People who support the “Palestinians” and oppose Israel’s existence or right to defend that existence are antisemites. That’s not rhetoric, it’s a plain and simple fact. As far as I can tell, there are no non-antisemitic grounds on which someone could hold such a position.
I can identify three non-antisemitic grounds to oppose zionism, but all three would cause a person to oppose the “Palestinian” cause even more.
Concern troll is… concerned.
In November of 2028, we shall see whether my concerns have been justified.
Seven counties ran out of ballots…reported as all Republican. Another theft by the cheaters.
That is not even surprising after what Arizona did during their last midterms where they basically sabotaged their voting machines. It really did hamper day of voting and that was probably the plan.
No it’s not…but people in line can stay to cast their vote. If they are told to leave they do not have to and that goes against voting laws. Schimal should not concede.
*not surprising that is.
All the lib rags are framing it as ‘the voters told Musk that the Wisconsin Supreme Court is not for sale,’ without mentioning that the vote was bought and paid for in full by George Soros (and other unelected elite billionaires).
Out-of-town astroturfing. Dems consider it their finest talent.
I grew up in Wisconsin and was educated there K-12 and university before any of it was “woke.” Elon Musk was laughably ignorant of the state’s political culture going back more than 125 years. I lament the conservative candidate’s defeat, yet have no sympathy either.
That utterly brain-dead $1 million prize buried him. Keep the autistics in Washington, D.C., where they are in their element. Elon Musk, in Wisconsin you were your own self parody.
I grew up in Wisconsin too
Does anyone believe she won by 13 points, in Wisconsin?
Cheating, plain and simple, Milwaukee and madison
NONE DARE CALL IT CONSPIRACY!!!!!
ha ha ha ha ,,, nutcase
I do think Elon may have been the wrong person to go there.
agree
Does anyone believe she won by 13 points, in Wisconsin?
Drag them through the courts as they are so fond of doing.
Not really a huge shock. In ’21 the d/prog WI Supreme CT candidate won by more than 11 points. The structural advantages for d/prog in off year elections is tough to overcome. They have built in organization from public sector unions, private sector unions and lefty churches to gin up turnout and get folks to the polls. The electorate in WI is full of ‘Ned Flanders’ types who seem to need more than one mugging to turn them more conservative. Win or lose the key is making the d/prog work to win in purple States and purple CD. Force them to expand resources in these off year elections. If nothing else it helps build the GoP machinery of volunteers and better positions the organization for the ’26 midterms.
No matter how many times liberal ideology is shown to be a massive failure, the people who overdosed on the kool aid in their public school education cannot help themselves….they simply must vote for the democrat. They are so indoctrinated, that they would rather suffer more, than elect a republican who might makes their lives better. This progressive psychopath Crawford can’t wait to start making rulings based on her ideology, not law.
As much as they *win*,I don’t envy the Soros Slaves.
So the voters went for Voter ID and a Lib judge,…they just cancelled their voter ID vote
Just use the Dem playbook, they try to gerrymander these seats, tie them up with lawsuits for a few years.
This is kind of how it works. Here in Michigan we have gone back and forth from Dem (Blanchard) to Rep (Engler) to Dem (Granholm) to Rep (Snyder) to Dem (Whitmer), and if the pattern repeats it will be a Republican again. Why? I have no idea, except it is like the swing voter is fickle, always looking for someone that doesn’t exist.
On another side note, how does Corey Booker speak for a day and not manage to say anything that is controversial? That’s empty.
cause no one was really listening
Your voter ID will now be taken away by the woman you voted for. So you wasted your vote and time.
Why should voter ID matter? These Dems are giving official IDs out to everyone. I swear we are more different from each other now than from the civil war days. How can we continue to function as one country?
again… a break in consistency
It would seem reasonable that most who vote dem dont care about voter id as this was as huge an issue for a pro dem ticket as anything …while they voted pro dem for the judge
so that means that either the blck vote voted heavily pro voter id while voting dem judge
or sumptn else is going on
The voter ID was an amendment to the WI state constitution.
The constitution gets changed..
This means that voter ID CAN’T be tossed on grounds of unconstitutionality.
I disagree. The Leftist Wisconsin SC will come up with some kind of convoluted reasoning that will invalidate it and that it cannot be added to the State Constitution. Leftist tyrants-in-black don’t care about constitutions or law unless it serves their ends.
It could be tossed on the (spurious) grounds that it violates the US constitution, or some federal statute.
SCOTUS has already said such measures don’t violate either the US constitution or federal law, but a state supreme court with sufficient bad faith could find some way to distinguish this case from the ones SCOTUS ruled on, and find that this measure is invalid.
And WI now has a supreme court with sufficient bad faith.
For state wide offices, the single biggest is and continues to be abortion. Wisconsin is a rather modestly pro-choice state, the Democratic candidates have done a better job framing the vote as a vote about abortion.
The other thing that Democratic candidates have done is run on essentially pro-law & order positions. Worked here, but also Tammy Baldwin for Senate (2024) and in the prior gubernatorial election (2022).
Until GOP candidates find a better frame on these issues, expect state-wide GOP candidates to lose in Wisconsin.
I do not live in the north and do not understand why they screw up their state so bad. I have not been in Wisconsin but only a couple of times and not found it good.
The process of “updating” this article could have been done better. I’m just encountering it for the first time now, reading that “liberal won court seat, conservatives now have a chance to retake the court” and trying to see where this bizarre 4D chess is explained.
