Former Dem Rep. Katie Porter Running for California Governor

Former Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) has decided to run for California governor.

Porter filled her announcement video on X (which has not embedded since the cyberattack so you have to click the link) with the same talking points Democrats politicians use in releases: climate change, Orange Man Bad, abortion, blah blah blah.

“What California needs now is a little bit of hope and a whole lot of grit,” said Porter.

Porter served in the House from 2019-2025, using anti-President Donald Trump resistance waves to propel her campaigns.

Guess what? Yes, Porter is sticking with the Orange Man Bad feels.

“I ran for office to hold Trump accountable,” stated Porter. “I feel that same call to serve now to stop him from hurting Californians.”

Porter left the House to run for the Senate, but did not make it past the nonpartisan primary.

Porter whined about the loss, claiming billionaires interfered and tried to rig the primary.

Democrats blasted Porter for her claims, especially since the party went after Trump for saying the same thing about the 2020 election.

The former representative apologized, probably trying to salvage any future political career.

California has a top-two primary system. Candidates from any party appear on a single ballot.

The field is already crowded:

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco jumped in as a Republican.

Politico reported that an internal poll showed Porter ahead by 36%.

But…a name is missing.

Failed Democrat presidential candidate former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris is still deciding whether to run for president or governor of California.

Those close to Harris insisted she would not wither away and disappear from the limelight.

Supposedly Harris said she would announce her decision by the end of summer.
