Bill Maher Rips the Woke Left and Democrats Over Land Acknowledgements and More

“I understand the desire to right the wrongs of the past, especially when you get to take the moral high ground and then build an 8,000 square foot mansion on it.”

During his ‘Real Time’ program this weekend, Bill Maher once again took aim at wokeness, Democrats, and the far left in general. He opened his monologue by mocking the land acknowledgment given at the Oscars last week.

Maher is on a mission to let Democrats know how they can start winning elections again, but even if they’re listening to him, it’s not clear how they can escape this ideology when nearly all of their base voters embrace it.

The New York Post has the details:

Bill Maher says Dems need to stop indigenous land acknowledgments if they want to win elections

Late night host Bill Maher said Democrats needed to cool it with indigenous land acknowledgments if they wanted to start winning elections again.

“Democrats, if you ever want to win an election again, the absolute most important first step is to stop doing this,” Maher said in an X post linking to a clip of a more than six minute denunciation of native civilizations.

Maher’s monologue was sparked by a moment during the Oscars where actress Julianne Hough gave recognition to three Native American tribes in a 15-second segment during the ceremony.

“Either give the land back or shut the f—k up,” Maher snapped. “I understand the desire to right the wrongs of the past, especially when you get to take the moral high ground and then build an 8,000 square foot mansion on it.”…

Ancient people, Maher insisted were “just as full of s—t. In fact, more full of s—t than humans today,” before noting the well-documented history of pre-colonial natives warring amongst themselves and enslaving one another and cannibalism.

Bill’s monologue is essentially a defense of modern civilization and perhaps even more remarkable is that he makes it through the whole thing without mentioning Trump once. Of course, it’s still rated ‘R’ for language and brief nudity. Watch:

During the same episode, Maher took credit for California Governor Gavin Newsom taking a position against men in women’s sports.

Maher is one of the few liberals who is willing to admit that the far left is destroying the Democratic party’s ability to win over a majority of voters. He is right about that but it’s very difficult to see how Democrats will ever walk back their position on some of these issues.

The earliest attempts to “explain away” guilt and hide the truth by calling the indigenous “Noble Savages”.
The indigenous are far from noble and were indeed savages.

They’re not indigenous. they didn’t spontaneously manifest. They migrated here like everyone else.

They’re also likely not first peoples. They were probably multiple waves of migration over the land bridge. Once here they conquered and took the previous arrival’s land for themselves.

What they were was the current inhabitants of the land when the Europeans arrived. Nothing more and nothing less. How they were treated in many if not most cases was despicable. but that is a completely different matter.

“Land acknowledgement” = blood and soil.

How very right-wing of them!

Indeed, the left is delighted to stand on what they think is the moral high ground, when in fact it’s intellectual quicksand.

But since its impossible to embrace progressivism without also being mired in the emotionalism of a 12 year old, they seem willing to continue to drag their followers further into cognitive disfunction in order to satisfy their love of the Current Thing.

If they weren’t so bloody dangerous, I’d encourage more of this.

I have noticed that the various land acknowledge statements seem to imply that the local land was stolen from the Indians but never are explicitly saying this as a fact presumably because they would then have to actually do something. In my state, Washington, the University of Washington and a whole slew of civic entities tend to begin events with an cloying, lip quivering land acknowledgement statement. What they never seem to realize is that the Washington territorial governor, Isaac Stevens, employed all of lessons learned from past US attempts at rapprochement with the Indian Tribes. So he went on a tear and drafted numerous treaties such as the 1855 Point Elliot treaty. These treaties prevented major wars with the Indians and opened huge territorial swaths to be settled by the pioneers allowing the progress of civilization to replace that of a very sparsely populated stone-age peoples resulting, among other things, the very institutions that ironically wallow in a synthetic but uninformed sense of guilt The land that we are residing on in Washington state has been bought and paid for and, by the way, the Indians were required to relinquish all captives and forgo slavery some 10 years prior to the ratification of the 13th amendment.

If Biden’s Ministry of Truth were still around, that kind of “misinformation” would result in the FBI, armed and at your door, by 5:30 a.m. and have you in a re-education facility by day’s end.

Conquest was acknowledged by the tribes in the Americas. The tribal land mindset sees the larger US cities… including Honolulu, and says “we would have built and owned these if not for ‘the white man'”. Hard to see stone and bone cultures create these. Within their cultures they were impressive…such as Mayas, Aztecs and Incas but they had nothing to elevate them to the level of Europe , Asia or Africa. Talk of “stolen land”… better read up on Native American tribal war and theft.

There’s no such thing as stolen land. All land on this planet has been conquered and won innumerable times by superior groups. If the occupants wanted to keep it, they should have fought harder.

I watched the whole monologue segment, the whole thing is hilarious. Mr. Politically Incorrect has still got it. I remember seeing him on a campus tour in 1998 where he had us debate affirmative action, and the student from the audience against it was a black male nursing student. I recall Bill Maher having him and all of us in stitches that he never could have predicted that happening. I’m sure he couldn’t pull off that kid of event today, the students with smash windows and scream into bullhorns to drown him out. Anything other than think, right?

All Maher is really doing is asking Democrats to hide this stuff long enough to be elected again.
I really don’t want Democrats to listen to Maher. I want them to show what they really think and who they really are.
And this is who they really are.

Hold it. Julianne Hough? That blonde girl from the RTG commercials? I’ve been told nauseam she’s REPUBLICAN!
