After Hamas Rejects Trump’s Ceasefire Continuation Framework, Israel Halts Further Aid Shipments

Decision comes after Israel delivered massive aid to Gaza during six-week long ceasefire, enough to last for up to 6 months.

Israel halted further aid shipments to Gaza after terrorist group Hamas turned down a ceasefire proposal by President Donald Trump’s administration. Hamas’s rejection comes after a 42-day-long ceasefire — first phase of a three stage deal — expired on Saturday.

“Israel on Sunday stopped the supply of humanitarian aid into the Gaza strip and closed all border crossings,” the Israeli news website YNET reported. “The decision by the government came hours after the first phase of the cease-fire agreement with Hamas expired amid a crisis in the talks to extend it and bring about the release of more hostages held by the terror group.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s had agreed to extend the Gaza ceasefire under a proposal by President Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff.

“Netanyahu agreed to adopt the Witkoff ceasefire proposal to release half the living and deceased hostages on the first day, with the rest released after a permanent deal is struck — but Hamas refused,” Israel’s i24NEWS TV channel reported.

Under the U.S. proposal, the ceasefire in Gaza was to extend over the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which began on February 28 and ends on March 29. The proposed ceasefire would also have coincided with the Jewish Passover festivities.

Israel allowed massive aid deliveries during 6-week-long ceasefire, enough to last for months

The decision came after Israel delivered massive amounts of aid to Gaza during the 6-week-long ceasefire, enough to last for several months, the Israel media reports say. “Israeli assessments indicate that the Palestinians have enough food from the aid that has already entered the Gaza Strip to last between four and six months,” the Israel Hayom newspaper observed.

The Times of Israel reported:

Israel is not allowing any more goods to enter Gaza, says the Prime Minister’s Office, citing Hamas’s refusal to accept what it says is an American proposal to extend phase one of the ceasefire through Passover and Ramadan alongside more hostage releases.

“With the end of Phase 1 of the hostage deal,” says the PMO, “and in light of Hamas’s refusal to accept the [US special envoy Steve] Witkoff outline for continuing talks – to which Israel agreed – Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided that, as of this morning, all entry of goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip will cease.”

“Israel will not allow a ceasefire without the release of our hostages,” Netanyahu’s office continues, threatening “further consequences” if Hamas continues to say no to the proposal.

According to the Kan public broadcaster, Israel believes enough aid has entered the enclave in recent weeks to last Gaza for several months.

Israel announced last night it was adopting the “Witkoff” plan, when it was revealed for the first time by the PMO.

According to Israel’s account of Witkoff’s proposal, half of the remaining hostages — living and dead — would be released on the first day of the extended ceasefire, and the remaining captives would be released at the end of the period if a permanent ceasefire is reached.

The latest rejection by Hamas is yet another setback to the arduous diplomatic efforts to bring hostages homes after more than 510 days of captivity in Gaza. Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist groups continue to hold 59 hostages, including the bodies of 35 Israelis murdered in Gaza on October 7, 2023, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed.

This is not the first time Hamas rejected a Ramadan ceasefire, choosing instead to use the holy Muslim month to regroup its terrorists forces and resume hostilities. In early 2024, Hamas rejected a similar proposal. Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, does not prevent or prohibit the Gaza-based jihadist group from recruiting new fighters, rebuilding its terrorist capabilities, and conducting attacks on Israel.

In recent years, Ramadan has been a preferred period for Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups to stage waves of deadly attacks against Israel.

Israeli airstrike hits terrorists in Gaza

As the ceasefire ends, Hamas appears to have resumed terrorist activities in Gaza. Israeli Air Forces (IAF) on Sunday carried out a strike to thwart an attack on IDF ground troops.

“Earlier today (Sunday), several suspects operated near IDF troops in northern Gaza and were identified planting an explosive device in the area,” the Israeli military said in statement. “In order to thwart the threat, the IAF struck the suspects.”

The armed forces vowed to continue military operations aimed at protecting  Israeli civilians and soldiers. “The IDF will continue to operate in order to eliminate any threat posed to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF troops,” the statement added.

Wipe them out. Wipe out every last palestinian terrorist. All collateral damage acceptable—and encouraged.

Hamas is not interested in a cease-fire, unless they can use it to advance their position. Their only interest is in the destruction of everything that is not Hamas, after which they will turn on each other for being insufficiently Hamas.

Rabid dogs.

Now watch the very same people demanding the war in the Ukraine to not stop now demand the war in Gaza must stop immediately 🙄

Hamas does not see itself as defeated. Thus the displays along side the hostage releases and the return of their people from Israel. Hamas only wants to survive for now and the remaining hostages are key to that. The Muslim regards their civilians as dying for the cause. A war against a Satanic ideology is nearly impossible to win for Westerners. All of those tunnels should have been flooded a year ago.

The only reason a war is hard for westerners is that most of us have become too soft. Then I have to put down animals, especially dogs or cats I am sorry for it and often lose sleep for days to weeks. When it comes to Muslims I can safely say that there would be no remorse, I understand their cult like nature and that they cannot be salvaged. It is a huge mistake to think otherwise. We can all see what happened in Africa and now in Europe.

Christianity and Judaism reformed and got the warring out of their systems centuries ago. Islam is held to be perfect and unchangeable from when Mohammed dreamed it up in 700 or whenever. There is no changing the fact that Mo said either convert or kill unbelievers and whatever Mo said must be done without question.

I’m wondering if some of the thinking within Israel around this current ceasefire was an effort to get as many hostages back as possible before going all in on destroying Hamas once and for all? 🤔🤷‍♂️

Dear Israel:

Love you guys, but you need to stop feeding the crowd that wants to kill all of you.

Sincerely,
Rob.

Israel should cut off all the free services they have been supplying, water fuel, sewage treatment.

Total war. Electricity, water, fuel, etc. That’s what a scorched earth campaign that is intended to destroy and bring victory over an implacable foe, should fairly and properly look like.

Bingo. I can’t believe they’re giving the Hamassholes anything.

I guess this means that IDF is still in control of the Rafah Crossing. I’ve read a number of conflicting reports over the last couple weeks about who was really in charge of Rafah with some reports indicating that IDF had pulled out entirely. That doesn’t seem to be the case…which is good. It would have been a huge mistake to allow unmonitored traffic between Gaza & Egypt.

Why was Israel shipping aid in the first place?

Because Biden & Blinken made them. They made it a condition of continued military aid to Israel. Some reports suggested at the time they even threatened Iron Dome re-supply over it.

Because their own legal advisers, as well as their own ethics, made them. They accept that starving the population would be a war crime, and not only does Netanyahu not want to do that but if he were to give such an order it would probably not be obeyed, and the so-called “Attorney General” (whose actual title is “Legal Counsel to the Government”, and whose position is much more like that of a Solicitor General, but who functions as dictator to the government) would have Netanyahu arrested for giving the order.

They accept that starving the population would be a war crime
Even though it isn’t. Any area in which combatants are active can most certainly be deprived of supplies. And even in areas* where active combat has ceased, you are not required to actually feed the enemy. You cannot destroy their food supplies (though you could take them for your own necessity), but you are not required to feed them.

Remember that “international law” is far beyond what is actually considered just and well beyond what the US has agreed to in almost all cases. I do not know if Israel stupidly signed onto further extensions of restrictions of the laws of war.

(* Generally speaking, “area” would be defined broadly enough to encompass area adjacent to active combat, and in the case of Gaza would encompass the entire place.)

American pressure. DJT put a stop to that.

Because, ultimately, Israel has left-leaning governments that believe in the Progressive Way of War.

This notion of feeding and giving succor to genocidal, goose-stepping and unrepentantly evil Islamofascists/Muslim terrorists must end. It was insanity, to begin with. And, that the vile, evil, stupid and gullible European, leftist dhimmis and American Dhimmi-crats forced Israel to give aid and succor to a genocidal, fanatical enemy, speaks to their wretched complicity in this charade of contrived and fallacious propaganda mythologies of alleged Muslim victimhood.

“But but the children of gaza are starving” says the usual suspects.

I have a soft spot for children, telling them, even tweens and teens, that it is the only irrational thing I do 🙂

Knowing that Arabs their teach their children to be savages, and that there is nothing I can do about it, I am willing to see what would normally be unacceptable.

If you pick away at Hamas there will be hundreds of reports of injured innocents and genocide. If you do it all at once then there is only one report to deal with. 🤷‍♂️

“Hamas uses cease fire with Israel to rebuild and rearm.” This phrase and practice was started By Mohammed. It’s SOP for jihadists of Islamic sort to rebuild and rearm when losing.

If Hamas is dumb enough to break the agreement Israel gets another shot at eliminating them but nobody is that stupid.

If they violate a ceasefire now they will end up being eliminated and never having the opportunity again, losing their fiefdom, and losing the billions in international dollars shoveled into them each year.

I do agree Arab states have historically made horrible decisions against their interests for ideological reasons (or in some case just not wanting to end up murdered like the king of Jordan) but the degree of stupidity that would be involved here is just too hard a sell for me to see happening.

It’s like having absolutely no memory of Lucy holding the football.

“Hamas use ceasefire with Israel to rebuild and re-arm.”
Well, no kidding Skippy. It’s called “hudna” and is – other than total defeat – the only “ceasefire Islam accepts.
