U.S. Attorney Warns Elon Musk About Threats Towards DOGE Staff
District of Columbia U.S. Attorney Ed Martin also told Musk that the DOJ “indicted an economist who worked at the Fed for economic espionage for the Communist Chinese.”

District of Columbia U.S. Attorney Ed Martin warned Elon Musk about threats toward DOGE staff.
“I recognize that some of the staff at DOGE have been targeted publicly,” wrote Martin. “At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting the DOGE work and the DOGE workers.”
Martin added: “Any threats, confrontations, or other actions in any way that impact their work may break numerous laws.”
The letter could possibly be about a journalist who doxxed young men at DOGE, leading to threats on Reddit.

Here's a handful of the many Reddit posts calling for violence and harassment against the boys from DOGE who were doxxed.
This is the point of activist journalist doxxing pieces: to target people for harassment.

The controversy over Musk and DOGE exploded late last week when President Donald Trump’s administration shut down USAID’s website, shut down the headquarters, and put some senior staffers on leave due to DOGE’s audit.
As Leslie pointed out in her article, “Americans are concerned it has become a slush fund for pet projects and policies that fail to promote the best interests of this country.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he is the current Acting Director of USAID.
“Let me assure you this: We will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who impedes your work or threatens your people,” continued Martin. “We will not act like the previous administration who looked the other way as the Antifa and BLM rioters as well as thugs with guns trashed our capital city.
Martin promised Musk that the DOJ “will protect DOGE and other workers no matter what.
The attorney also told Musk that the DOJ “indicted an economist who worked at the Fed for economic espionage for the Communist Chinese.”
“Please be very aware that there are those who are acting against our American people in every way,” said Martin.
Martin relayed to Musk that his door is always open, encouraging him to “refer to us any questionable conduct or details” that he finds or notices.
Dear @elon, Please see this important letter. We will not tolerate threats against DOGE workers or law-breaking by the disgruntled. All the best. Ed Martin pic.twitter.com/jIgMPVbPT5

The deep state will strike back and it will be coordinated with their allies across the country. Be prepared.
💯
And of course left-wing riot season is about to kick off.
Using brut force the minute they act up will reset their expectations.
I believe opening day was 2 days ago in Los Angeles.
Self Entitled, egotistical, over credentialed mediocrities are in the finding out stage. They really don’t appreciate that in order to eat they are probably gonna need to join the other surplus liberal arts mediocrities in providing replacement agricultural and hospitality workers as the illegal aliens are driven out of their illegal employment.. Assuming of course that the corporate/business assets are quickly returned into service after they are sold following their seizure under civil asset forfeiture.
They will find a way to organize and fight back with their lawyers and the media. It won’t be a one-sided battle that it has been so far. I think Trump caught them by surprise.
The Constitution declares very clearly that ‘The.Executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America’.
Thus the President IS the unitary Executive. Period. There were all sorts of.debates at founding re using cabinet officers as check on Presidential Power, those suggestions were rebuffed. At most there is ‘consultation’ with the head of an agency but POTUS isn’t bound to accept their recommendation or even hear them out.
Either the President is the HMFIC of the Executive Branch or he isn’t. The Constitution declares he is.
The constitution also clearly limits what the executive can do on his own initiative. Many of the things the executive does nowadays depend on authority granted by Congress, and some of the things Trump has done seem to exceed the powers Congress has granted him, or to violate powers Congress has granted other people. That’s where they will have wiggle room to fight him in court. We will see how closely he has hewed to his authorized powers, and what arguments they can come up with beyond a petulant Thunbergish “How dare you?”
Yep. The President is limited to exercising the powers granted in the Constitution and those that the Congress has given under statutory authority. Over the last 100+ years since Wilson Admin began the Administrative State most of the powers granted ‘the Secretary of X shall’ provisions also have discretionary provisions on their use. Then there’s the ’emergency powers’ provisions granted wide latitude to the Executive.
On boondoggle spending any funds with an actual appropriation for a specific authorization will eventually have to be spent; historically this has been NLT the end of the fiscal year. The other spending by Agencies without a specific appropriation by Congress specifically directing the Executive Branch to spend $ X million on a specific item is quite vulnerable to Presidential discretion IMO.
I think that inculcated within executive powers would be the ability to pause and/or audit any financial transactions they are responsible to oversee. In fact, it would be an oversight otherwise.
I agree that there will be battles arguing that the president must seek permission from Congress, but from what I’ve been reading -although it’s not crystal clear, amd I ain’t no Constituional scholar- it seems that the fundamental principle that the three branches of government cannot regulate each other may prevent Congress from interfering with the actions of the Executive.
I am interested be further educated in this area.
Can you provide of list of what you’re referring to?
Many/most of the things the president does are not within his powers at all. They are powers delegated from Congress, by some statute or other.
For instance if Congress said $20M shall be spent on paper clips, he must spend the whole $20M on paper clips, no matter how little need the government has for them. But usually the statute explicitly includes some flexibility, such as saying he can spend between $10M and $20M on paper clips, as needed. That allows him to make a decision. But he can’t go over the $20M or under the $10M.
Take tariffs, for instance. The president has NO POWER WHATSOEVER to impose tariffs or to lift them. But Congress has passed a statute giving him that authority. When he imposes or lifts or stays a tariff it is only subject to that statute. If he goes beyond whatever flexibility the statute gives him, his actions are invalid, and those affected by that decision can sue him and have the court order him to stick to the limits Congress set.
This was the issue with 0bama’s Iran deal. The statute imposing sanctions on Iran gives the president the authority to lift them in part or in whole, as he sees fit.
0bama knew that any agreement he made with Iran would never get 2/3 of the senate’s consent, so he decided not to even try. Rather than a treaty, he made a private agreement, which would only involve things he could already do. Part of the private agreement was that he would lift the sanctions, since Congress had already given him the authority to do that.
In order to prevent that from happening, a bill was introduced and passed both houses, removing his authority to lift those sanctions. But he vetoed that bill, as was his right. And he pressured enough senators to stave off an override of his veto. Therefore he was able to do the deal without anyone’s permission.
But he agreed to pass a law that would put one minor limit on it: When he came to an agreement he would not implement it immediately, but would give Congress notice, and allow it to try once again to pass a law stopping him. If it passed with a veto-proof majority he would accept defeat and cancel the deal. If it didn’t then he would proceed with the deal, as was his right under the existing statute. When the time came he put enough pressure on Dem senators that the vote to veto the deal didn’t get the veto-proof majority it required, so the deal happened.
Milhouse,
Yep. When Congress delegates power to the Executive Branch they delegating power to the unitary Executive aka the President b/c the ‘Secretary of X’ derives any/all power from the Executive Power of the President.
Where Congress has been specific and provided both authorization to do X and provided a specific appropriation to do X …the President must spend those funds to do X. The leeway is limited to ‘when’. The Cray Cray grants using funds appropriated for a nonspecific broad purpose/goal that have been used by out of control lefty wokiesta bureaucracy to hand over to lefty NGO are very vulnerable to being redirected to another grantee or even not being spent. This pile of funds is the equivalent of Mom hand her kid $20 and sending him to the store to by x, y, z and authorizing him to get buy a candy bar for himself. If he has change left over he gives it back to Mom. If he doesn’t like the choices of candy bar he isn’t required to buy one.
When they strike back we will be able to identify them and make them very sorry. They must be crushed.
The President runs the executive branch of government and his DOGE are basically acting in his stead. The government is far too big for a President to do this stuff on his own.
The arrogance of the Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks in the federal bureaucracy, and, the Dhimmi-crat media shills/lapdogs/stenographers who are protecting them, is appalling and offensive.
These bastards really think that they are above accountability to #47, and, by extension, the citizens who re-elected him.
The apparatchiks have long forgotten (assuming that they ever cared) who they work for and who funds their paychecks.
I’ve been saying it for years: We are at war. Prepare accordingly.
Better late than never, but those who have not already done so will be at at a very serious disadvantage. This is not just about supplies, it is more about skills.
Let’s roll
They have had their way with America and our money for decades
I (foolishly?) took the trouble to write to Wired and tell them how disappointed I am that they employ activists who pose as writers. I asked they thought that doxxing people was part of their magazine’s mission. I said that I would have thought that any professional editor would have stopped such a childish and dangerous action under their banner-head.
Finally I gave them my full name and address “to save you the trouble of looking it up, in case you decide to dox me too for disagreeing with you.”
Old man shouting at clouds, sure, but it was fun and we’ll see if they bother to respond.
Braver than me. There are still snakes in the woodpile.
“At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting the DOGE work and the DOGE workers.”
The US Attorney from… DC?
I’d rather take a frozen snake home in my jacket.
How busy is the US Attorney from anyplace in Wyoming?
The acting US Attorney for DC. This guy.
Great… now do Pence.
There’s just something in the water in DC.
So now the marxist ideologues are suddenly concerned about merit based hiring??? ROFLMAO! You just can’t make this scheisse up.
