Our Parent’s Guide is here to help parents navigate the woke machine
Over the years we have had numerous parents reach out to us asking for help navigating the K-12 landscape in public education
In 2021, the Legal Insurrection Foundation launched www.criticalrace.org, a project that began by cataloguing Critical Race Training and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion activities on over one hundred domestic college campuses. Criticalrace.org now monitors over 700 institutions.
While the headlines may have moved on from CRT, our research suggests CRT/DEI/ESD and every other pernicious acronym is so deeply embedded and entrenched in the system, that eradicating its scourge is a long-game effort and one we are deeply committed to.
Our work focuses predominately on higher education, but over the years we have had numerous parents reach out to us asking for help navigating the K-12 landscape in public education. It’s a concern that has come up in every education-centric event we have done online and in person.
To better and fully address these concerns, we created a Parent’s Guide to help those stuck in the public education system navigate the woke machine.
FOX News covered our guide, saying:
FIRST ON FOX — A conservative website devoted to tracking critical race theory (CRT) and other “woke” concepts in higher education has launched a free resource for parents of school-age students to help them fight against these ideologies.
The K-12 Parent’s Guide, unveiled this week by CriticalRace.org, aims to “empower” parents with “knowledge and an action plan” to identify and oppose CRT in their child’s current or prospective school.
The guide, shared first with Fox News Digital, breaks down the origins of CRT, before sharing common buzzwords associated with it, such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), decolonization and anti-racism.
Parents are also given tools about where to find CRT in public schools and ways they can take action against these political ideas influencing their child’s education.
Kemberlee Kaye, Managing Editor of CriticalRace.org, said they were compelled to create the resource because of increased requests from parents of younger students for guidance on navigating this topic in their child’s education.
The parent guide is intended to help those families who may not have the option to pull their kids from public schools, but still want to protect their children as best as they can.
“We are deeply committed to education free from overt biases that attempt to turn our children against one another, their families, their culture, and their country. We know it’s not possible for everyone to pull their children out of government-run education in favor of private options or home education, so we created a Parent’s Guide to provide a roadmap for parents who are concerned about what their children might be learning in our public school system,” Kaye shared in a statement.
“It should not be the case that parents have to be on guard against their local school districts, but unfortunately, that is the case for most publicly funded districts right now. It’s our hope that when enough people get involved, demand transparency, and insist on better for their children, the system will be required to respond accordingly by abandoning pernicious and divisive ideology,” Kaye added.
Our public education system is broken and there is no quick fix. Removing government departments and funding will help stop the bleeding, but the ideology remains.
I have to include the fact that there are wonderful people in the system, but the system itself is broken. The horror stories we have encountered in this journey are many and horrifying.
Just look at the work we do with the Equal Protection Project.
But to the broader solution — it’s something I speak about often and hope to impress upon anyone who will listen — we have the authority, not the government, not any administrator, in the lives of our children. We must know our authority and insist it be honored. There is no negotiating with the people and ideology who are explicitly trying to destroy our social structure, our families, and life as we know it.
We know best what they need, where they struggle, and what will allow them to thrive in life.
We are the only and best advocates our children have. We have to be willing to take a hit, be called a racist, deal with the scorn of cowards in the pursuit of rightness and good for our children. If we won’t, no one will.
In the last months of 2024, our team at Criticalrace.org shifted focus slightly. We are still updating, expanding and maintaining our database, but we’re also doing a tremendous amount of original research in these areas. No one is immune from our scrutiny. We’ve already dug into legislative action against DEI and its effectiveness, the SEC schools, and the Ivies. And we’re just getting started.
We have a short window to push hard to correct the ills of the last two decades and the Legal Insurrection Foundation, through our projects like Criticalrace.org are front and center in this battle. And we will win the war.
Damn the torpedoes. Full speed ahead!
