Karoline Preisler: How One German Woman Stands Up To Antisemitic Hate

Karoline Preisler: How One German Woman Stands Up To Antisemitic Hate

German newspaper Bild: “Germany’s bravest demonstrator.”

The Hamas-led massacre of October 7, 2023, has been followed by a persistent wave of ugly antisemitic and pro-Hamas demonstrations in cities across Europe. The European and Western societies had little to offer in terms of resistance to the resurfacing Jew-hatred in their midst.

Apart from a few bright and brave exceptions, these anti-Jewish hate fests have largely gone unchallenged. Sadly, nowhere in Europe is it riskier to stand up for Israel and the Jewish people than in Germany, so much so that a lone woman confronting these angry mobs has rightly earned the title of Germany’s ‘bravest’ demonstrator.

Where most men fail to defy these antisemitic mobs, Karoline Preisler, a 53-year-old mother of four, stood up to them — with nothing more than a hand-made placard and boundless courage.

The German newspaper Bild calls Preisler “Germany’s bravest demonstrator.”

“She is the woman who stands alone against the mob,” Germany’s most-read newspaper wrote in May 2024. “Preisler is in the middle of a hostile crowd. The Islamists and left-wing movements are marching here hands in hand [in Berlin].”

“The signs are often snatched away from [her] hands,” the Bild notes. Preisler is accosted, slandered, and often has signs grabbed away from her hands. A handful of cops is all that separates her from frenzied mobs, mainly comprising of young migrant men.

Preisler, an expert in German constitutional law, is affiliated with the country’s pro-business Free Democratic Party (FDP). The fact that she grew up in Communist East Germany may explain why she detests totalitarian ideologies of Islamism and Leftism — the driving forces behind this old-new Antisemitism in Europe.

“One year since the Hamas massacre, FDP politician Karoline Preisler continues to fight against Antisemitism and for the release of hostages. She is insulted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators for this,” German weekly Der Spiegel noted October 2024.”

Profiling Preisler, the German weekly Jüdische Allgemeine wrote in May 2024:

The lawyer, who in her youth took part in the peaceful revolution of 1989 in the GDR [East Germany], has been a member of the FDP for eleven years. Preisler’s book “Enduring Democracy!: On debating in the outrage society” was published in 2021. Preisler is a mother of four.

Despite the rejection she faces at demonstrations organized by Islamist, right-wing or left-wing groups, the 52-year-old seeks dialogue with the participants.

These days, Karoline Preisler regularly goes where she is not welcome: to anti-Israel protests and demonstrations against the war in Gaza, which are all too often not “pro-Palestinian” but anti-Israel and antisemitic. She walks alone, with only a placard in her hand — drawing attention to the fate of the hostages kidnapped by Hamas or the Israeli women who were been raped.

I can personally testify to the threat and risk a courageous woman like Preisler faces in today’s Germany for publicly standing up for Israel or the tiny Jewish minority. In 2019, I was verbally attacked in the German city of Bonn for wearing a Kippah in solidarity with Jews at a rally against Antisemitism. Days after the October 7 massacre, I faced off with hundreds of angry pro-Hamas demonstrators in Bonn. We were vastly outnumbered and separated by a thin cordon of anti-riot police.

Have they successfully castrated all the German men?

With regret, yes. I’m afraid we pussified the German men just a tad too much after the Second World War…

It is odd to see a conservative blame masculinity for the rise of the Nazis, and credit denazification to feminization.

Particularly in light of the fact that the Germans didn’t give a dam about any “firsts” for women until foreign influence got it to give a dam.

I do not think you will find Germans are more “pussified” than any other western males.

Actually it is odd because radical feminists argue that things like the Nazi Party and warfare are the result of too much masculinity.

It also isn’t true Steve has stated he was talking about German woke people admitting hordes of immigrants which happened after the 20th century.

Perhaps you could respond in logical English? I’ll wait.

My point is a simple one: after WWII the Allies considered that German militarism, nationalism, and ethnocentric hatred had to be expunged once and for all. In doing so, we’ve now generated a Germany that is unwilling to fight for itself. Other recent news reports (see Instapundit and VDH this morning) note that the German military is a shambles and can’t defend the country proper. The country is 20% foreign; those 20% have not assimilated and taken on German values. The economy is a wreck; more people are on benefits, and the German work ethic has eroded significantly. I didn’t say anything about German women specifically, but they’ve also been affected by all this, and they too seem not to care anymore about the country as a viable state.

To answer Dolce Far Niente’s comment, yes, it appears that the German men have been castrated. We expunged German-ness a bit too much.

When exactly did Germans become unwilling to stand up for themselves?

It certainly wasn’t the 20th century when immigration was marginal to the point of not being worth mentioning.

In the 21st Germans voted Angela Merkel when she ran on “NO MULTICULTURALISM” and claimed “Multi-culturalism is a failure that has no place in Germany”

Merkel betraying her voters with a policy of mass immigration is not an indictment of German voters.

It is an indictment of Angela Merkel for seeing which way western woke elites wanted her to go and going there to secure her post-German future.

Laying the blame for German wokeness on de-Nazification going to far ignores decades of time when Germany was an anti-immigration country that voted for people who said no to multiculturalism.

It would be better to blame two faced politicians like Angela Merkel who promised one thing and delivered another for the immigration crisis and blame the same source of the mind virus that infected the United States.

I’ve used the term Geldings to describe German men in past threads here and elsewhere.

Dim-witted German leaders, such as the absurdly lionized (by leftists and Dhimmi-crats) frau Merkel, decided in their “wisdom” to replicate the tens of millions of deceased, goose-stepping, genocidal, Jew-hating National Socialist fanatics from WWII, with tens of millions of goose-stepping, genocidal, Jew-hating Muslim supremacists/Islamofascists.

That’s German “logic,” for you.

Just as important is the fact that ordinary German voters are turning against the idea of mass immigration and as you could see from this brave woman there are Germans
    standing up to them.

The woman’s courage is laudable, without question, but, even if Germans are turning against the phenomenon of mass immigration, it’s fair to contemplate that the foxes have already been turned loose in the henhouse, and, that it’s too late to rectify the situation, save with mass deportations that the Germans clearly have neither the tenacity nor the will to accomplish.

German civil war is the next logical event. The same holds true for France, the Netherlands, the U.K. and Sweden — all countries that have seen their cultures and societies decimated by the plague of goose-stepping Islamofacsism.

Sure, there are many actually peaceful followers of Islam.
But, with Islam being used as the manual and/or justification by so many Muslims to run authoritarian states, to commit terrorist acts, and, within at least the United Kingdom, to establish and run rape rings, can Western countries continue to allow Muslims to immigrate into them?

Signs and graffiti in English means they believe their audience is the US, not the German people.
