Elizabeth Warren Tries to Walk Back Horrendous Comments on Murder of Healthcare CEO

Elizabeth Warren Tries to Walk Back Horrendous Comments on Murder of Healthcare CEO

“I should have been much clearer that there is never a justification for murder.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), is the latest high-profile person on the left to seemingly justify the cold-blooded murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Speaking to Joy Reid on MSNBC, Warren condemned the killing and then added, “but people can be pushed only so far.”

That’s a really big “but.”

FOX News reported:

Elizabeth Warren says killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO was a warning: ‘You can only push people so far’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said in interviews this week that the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was wrong but also served as a “warning” of sorts that “you can only push people so far.”

“We’ll say it over and over,” Warren said on MSNBC. “Violence is never the answer. This guy [Luigi Mangione] gets a trial who’s allegedly killed the CEO of UnitedHealth[care], but you can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands.”

Mangione was arrested Monday after a manhunt and charged with Thompson’s murder, which was committed outside a hotel in Manhattan last week. Mangione has become a folk hero to some far-left figures who feel Thompson’s death is comeuppance for health insurance providers like UnitedHealthcare that deny coverage or charge exorbitant premiums.

Here’s the clip:

This segment came up when Professor Jacobson appeared on the Laura Ingraham show earlier this week (video at the link):

Ingraham: well—just what happened to him, period. He did spend six years there. It’s not that much time; he graduated in 2016 from high school. So he was there when the cauldron was clearly brewing. But here’s what Senator Elizabeth Warren took away from all of this:

“Look, we’ll say it over and over—violence is never the answer. This guy gets a trial who’s allegedly killed the CEO of UnitedHealth, but you can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands.”

They weren’t saying that on January 6. They never say that when a pro-life protester protests outside of an abortion clinic. They think it’s fine to arrest those people, as we see happening all over the Western world.

WAJ: How was it that he couldn’t be pushed any further? When you get somebody from that background—and a lot of domestic terrorists in our history have been from privileged backgrounds, like the Weather Underground people—if you’re going to have the Elizabeth Warren attitude that you’re entitled to do whatever you need to do by any means necessary because you’ve been pushed too far in your own lived experience, that’s a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, it’s a recipe that is prevalent on a lot of campuses.

Warren tried to walk back her comments in a piece at the HuffPost:

“Violence is never the answer, but people can be pushed only so far,” Warren added. “This is a warning that if you push people hard enough, they lose faith in the ability of their government to make change, lose faith in the ability of the people who are providing the health care to make change, and start to take matters into their own hands in ways that will ultimately be a threat to everyone.”

After drawing some criticism for her remarks, Warren clarified her comments in a statement provided to HuffPost on Wednesday.

“Violence is never the answer. Period,” the senator said. “I should have been much clearer that there is never a justification for murder.”

Nice try.

Will the media now shove a microphone into the face of every living Democrat official and ask them if they agree with Warren’s comments, like they would if she were a Republican?

Just kidding. We all know that they won’t.

“you can only push people so far.”

Was that a dare ?

It sure sounds like it, or an urging of her Leftist supporters to take violent actions during the coming administration.

By that, she meant you can only push Democrats so far. By her “lived experience,” it’s clear that she believes Republicans can be pushed to the moon, Alice.

“you can only push people so far.”

She is speaking of super duper rich people like Luigi. You can only push them so far because they’re sensitive. But you can push average people like Daniel Penny as far as you like.

It was the left and Obamacare who destroyed what was a largely workable and affordable healthcare insurance system.

It was the left that discouraged tort reform so that medical practice would not driven by the cost and fear of malpractice claims.

It was the left and Obamacare that turned our medical system into a top-heavy corporate system of hospitals and their doctor-serfs instead of independent practitioners.

It was the left and Obamacare that introduced the idea that everything from aa BC pill to a castration should be covered by “insurance”, which makes itto welfare, not insurance at all.

She should be good at walking back. After all, she’s an Indian giver, taker and Indian heritage appropriator..

Leftists appear to have no moral compass. If they can in their addled brains justify something even if it’s evil, then for them it’s ethical. It also appears that impressionable youngsters who go to certain college appear to lose whatever moral compass they have. Parents beware.
What is intriguing is that the perp does not appear to have been in any of the UHC plans, so what was his beef with Thompson?
As for anyome complaining about health insurance, my advice is to consider the alternative: go without health insurance and consider all the money you’ll save, until you’ll be bankrupted by some illness or injury.

Very mysterious. I’ve seen an article that starts off mentioning that a relative of his had a disastrous time with a health insurance company, but then it dove into his own infirmities without elaborating on who this relative was and what happened.

Maybe if the government had not stuck its nose into medicine these kinds of “ unexplained” behaviors would not occur.
Same for education. We’re on the verge of a 3 rd generation not getting educated even with basics.

My father told me that there was no health insurance, that he paid out for pocket. When he finally had insurance he was paying the same out of pocket, and doctors simply pocked all the insurance. He was quite angry about that.

“But you can only push people so far.”

Pretty sure that phrase was also used by the left to justify the October 7th attacks.

For every health insurance CEO taken out we take out 2 fake Injuns. 😛

Lefties seem to like political violence as an option.

Looks like Pocahontas said the quiet part out loud. When they tell you things like that, you’re probably best off believing them. No takesies backsies

It’s better to keep your mouth closed and look stupid than open it and remove all doubt.

Elizabeth Warren, once again making Ed Markey look like the smart Massachusetts US senator. No small feat!

It looks like Fauxcahontas is a few arrows short of a full quiver. We’ll have to kick her out of tribe.

Her clarification sucks.

Saying “no justification for murder” ok did you or did you not take back the dehumanization of the victim or do you just no longer feel it justifies the killing?

She is a glaring example that people have no idea who they are voting for.

Hopefully she’ll keep her comment in mind when someone feels that she “pushed them too far!”

From his “lived experience” being born with a silver spoon in his mouth and living every day of his life as a rich kid with no worries or cares except that which he picked up from his professors in college and took it as his own.

Don’t believe a word she says. She speaks with forked tongue.

Suburban Farm Guy | December 13, 2024 at 9:42 pm

Liz the commie aside, how does murdering this guy reduce premiums or improve our medical system? People worshiping a killer are short-sighted idiots.

Salinsky her. Next time, someone talks about J6, tell the them that people can be pushed only so far before they peacefully protest.
