Associated Press Buries Fact That Laken Riley’s Killer is an Illegal Alien

The mainstream media’s absolute shamelessness is not breaking news, but sometimes it’s just so bad that it has to be called out and documented for the record.
On Wednesday, Venezuelan illegal alien Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, was found guilty during a Georgia bench trial on all 10 counts which included malice murder and aggravated assault with intent to rape his victim, 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student Laken Riley.
Ms. Riley was stalked by Ibarra on February 22, 2024, as she went for her morning jog on the University of Georgia campus. He attempted to rape her but she fought back against his attack for 18 minutes, which left DNA evidence under her fingernails. He killed Riley by bashing her skull with a rock multiple times and strangling her.
Though Ibarra’s status as an illegal alien who came here under the Biden-Harris administration is a big reason why this case received so much national attention, you wouldn’t know he was an illegal immigrant if you read the first few paragraphs of The Associated Press‘ write-up on the verdict:

Jose Ibarra was charged with murder and other crimes in Riley’s February death, and Wednesday’s guilty verdict was reached by Athens-Clarke County Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard. Ibarra, 26, had waived his right to a jury trial, meaning Haggard alone heard and decided the case.
Haggard found Ibarra guilty of all 10 counts against him: one count of malice murder; three counts of felony murder; and one count each of kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault with intent to rape, aggravated battery, obstructing an emergency call, evidence tampering and being a peeping Tom.
In their headline, The AP simply referred to him as “man,” too:

In the story itself, his illegal immigrant status wasn’t mentioned until several paragraphs down, buried below numerous ads:
Riley’s killing added fuel to the national debate over immigration when federal authorities said Ibarra illegally entered the U.S. in 2022 and was allowed to stay in the country while he pursued his immigration case. President-elect Donald Trump and other Republicans blamed Riley’s death on the policies of Democrat Joe Biden.
The tweet they put up that included a link to their article didn’t include anything about his nationality or illegal immigrant status:

Though The AP‘s offenses were the most egregious, they weren’t the only ones trying to play word games:

The Associated Press could label this monster a pink two-headed crocodile and no one would notice or care because we no longer rely upon media outlets like the AP to deliver us the news or the truth for that matter. They’re dead, but just don’t know it yet.

Biden/Harris gave these “illegals” all sorts of official paperwork, thereby deliberately creating the new cultural gray area of “legal illegals.” It got so ridiculous that we discovered TSA now allows illegal immigrants to board commercial flights without a valid ID, as long as they can show a “DHS Illegal Alien arrest warrant!”
AP is just conscientiously “dilating” this new classificiation regularly lest political sanity reassert itself, much as a trans woman has to dilate her new plumbing daily lest nature reassert itself.
They don’t owe you anecdotal evidence for a wider generalization, taking the position that immigrant status is not a cause of likely criminality.
You could make a study of it and then it would be true or false, but so far there’s no such study.
The relevant statistic is the rape/murder rate of the immigrant population vs various American legacy groups already native. So far not provided by any side.
If the immigrant murder rate is lower than the American population rate, the immigration makes us safer (they provide not only murderers but also targets for murder, and the targets for murder draw off existing American murderers, making Americans safer).
Until there’s a study, it’s all just idiot narratives.
Here’s a side by side comparison. The court provided this monster with a headphone for realtime translation as if he were a UN delegate. He provided Laken with no translator to assist in her rape and murder.
You can’t convict anybody unless it’s against the best possible defense. Otherwise it’s not a conviction. That’s why lawyers represent them, and they have to be able to assist in their own defense.

Furthermore if one is willing to enter the country illegally I must assume one is also willing to committing other crimes. We do not need to welcome criminals with open arms into our country no matter the statistics on crime rates among illegals. The claim of a lower murder rate among illegals is irrelevant, even if true, and no study is needed. All like Laken Riley would be alive today if there had been zero illegals, EXCEPT ….. instead of certainly being dead they would have lived to be exposed to the US murder rate of 7 per 100,000.
If the immigrant murder rate is lower, more other Americans would be dead instead. Maybe you’re saying that they’re not photogenic white girls. They might be. I’m not sure what it takes these days to make murder a viral story.

No study needed for a comparison. A single solitary crime committed by an illegal is a self inflicted wound. Period. End of discussion. They shouldn’t be here. Full stop. You’re not following the math. Illegal immigration also reduces crime by providing targets for American criminals, drawing American criminals off of American citizens and onto immigrant targets. It turns out that the net positive / net negative determining factor is the relative crime rates of the two populations.
The math problem is: from the crime rates of two populations, determine the crime rate of the combined population. It’s higher or lower depending on that. If it’s lower, we’re safer with immigrants than without immigrants.
That study has not been done.
