Merrick Garland: ‘Dangerous’ and ‘Outrageous’ to Criticize the DOJ
This the man who literally weaponized the DOJ against parents protesting Critical Race Theory.
In a speech to U.S. attorneys, Attorney General Merrick Garland said it’s “dangerous” and “outrageous” for people criticizing the DOJ.
This isn’t the first time Garland lashed out at those who have the nerve to criticize the DOJ.
He said:
Over the past three and a half years there has been an escalation of attacks on the justice department’s career lawyers, agents, and other personnel that go far beyond scrutiny, criticism, and legitimate and necessary oversight of our work. these attacks have come in the form of conspiracy theories, dangerous falsehoods, efforts to bully and intimidate career public servants by repeatedly and publicly singaling them out and threats of actual violence. Through your work you have made clear that the justice department will not be intimidated by these attacks. But it is dangerous and outrageous that you have to endure them. It is dangerous to target and intimidate individual employees of this department solely for doing their jobs and it is outrageous that you have to face these unfounded attacks because you are doing what is right and upholding the rule of law. You deserve better. You deserve gratitude.

Garland also claimed the DOJ doesn’t treat people differently. He won’t let anyone use the DOJ as a political weapon.
Oh, his whole speech is just rich.
Oh, you want to go there, Garland? If you don’t want us to criticize the DOJ or think something deeper is going on, then you shouldn’t do anything that shows us you’re willing to violate the Constitution, target those who disagree with you, or treat us as legitimate threats to the country.

It’s dangerous to criticize the DOJ and the FBI because they will retaliate against you.
My thought exactly
Sadly, I give Garland and DOJ all the respect they are currently entitled to.
Read he has had 1,500 people arrested, most convicted of the Jan6 Ralliers.
Chalk him up in the Marxists party.
lefty spin:
trump threatens those who have opposing opinions
Looking at all the crap Deep State has been dishing out, it is understandable why they are trembling.
When Trump is elected how many will flee America to escape prosecution for the crimes they have committed?
Bad move. Once they’re overseas, you can drone ’em.
So, just so I understand, if I call the DOJ a perversely corrupt political institution staffed by perversely corrupt thugs and lead by a perversely corrupt little weasel, would that be criticizing? I could say lead by a perversely corrupt little ferret face if that sounds better?
Most of the younger generations wouldn’t understand the “ferret face” comment, unfortunately.
I think it’s an outstanding reference, myself.
Frank Burns eats worms!
I can see the indictment “On or about Sept. 12, 2024, said Defendant did write or cause to be published the following: “I could say lead [sic] by a perversely corrupt little ferret face.”
I’ll just say, well look at him your honor.
It’s a problem with the courts, actually.
No, it a problem with a stolen election
Evil is not a word I use lightly, but Garland is (unequivocally) evil.
I cannot believe that we have a radical idealogue heading the Department of Justice. No attempt to be objective, neutral. or objective.
Woe is us.
Scratch second objective. Sorry
You’ll have to come in again.
He was part of the cabal involved in Benghazi
Not surprisingly
I can’t believe that he was the moderate compromise candidate Obama nominated to the Supreme Court hoping that his extreme moderation would entice Republicans to vote for him. And it would have worked if McConnell had allowed it to come up for a vote.
Marxist demoKKKrats just can’t stop digging their hole.
lets face it
america is under attack and moreso than EVER from the inside
patriots look for the next delaware crosser and hope to achieve it all w/o bloodshed
but lefty says there will be bloodshed
merrik garland making angela davis proud
This guy definitely needs to be held accountable for his actions these past few years.
Justification of the police state.
Garland is certainly not the character that was pitched just a few years ago…
gee, wonder why?
Buckle up Merrick, you’re going to be defending yourself and what you did to the DOJ every single day until you die. And there’s nothing you can do to stop the criticism.
Right, with course words and letters
Jordon
He’s just itching for more Ruby Ridges and Wacos.
Too bad, because what he’s going to get are more Carl Dregas.
I am certain Beria had the same feelings about Soviet dissidents. Only difference is Garland hasn’t racked up the kill rate… yet.
He is quite a douche.
The Traitorous Merrick Garland. FIFY
So… it’s outrageous and dangerous to say things like…
We shouldn’t say things like that, huh?
The Tories didn’t like it, either.
Apparently, there was an eleventh commandment on the tablets that God gave to Moses, stating:
“Thou shalt not criticize the DOJ, the FBI or any Dhimmi-crat apparatchik.”
How bad has it gotten at the Department of Justice during the Biden Administration and under Merrick Garland?
I think the case can be made that the Department of Justice should be completely disbanded and and necessary tasks remained to the states.
The Department’s headquarters can then be leased out to Spirit Halloween.
Mitch McConnell deserves much of the criticism aimed at him but he also deserves a lot of credit for flatly refusing to consider Garland for SCOTUS.
He’ll only be AG for a short time longer; he would have been a thorn in SCOTUS until he shed his mortal coil.
yeah great mitch makes a stand as obvious as harris’ training for the debate
if mitch and co would have stopped all the welfare >>freebies>>natoinal debt
he would be a good guy
Maybe I am a conspiracy theorist, however I think Obama had Scalia assassinated so that he could appoint a Leftist Supreme Court Justice to replace Scalia and move the balance of the court Leftward in case Trump was elected. So many things around Scalia’s death are off.
Additionally McConnell suspected this though he could not prove it without destroying this Nation since he is GOPe.
So AG Garland believes criticism of the Federal government it’s officers and officials is unacceptable? Cool beans MR Attorney General please show us the same level of public contempt you offered for this criticism when it was GoP appointed folks on the receiving end…when Federal employees boasted of enhancing in ‘resistance’, proudly and publicly thwarting the will of the electorate in failing to implement the policies of the Chief Executive they elected.
You will not speak out against the Uniparty.
This is the United States in 2024. Any disagreement or opposition to any policy of the moment of the Almighty State is sedition or treason and will be punished by Articles 58-1 through 58-14 as soon as they are implemented.
Subotai Bahadur
It is a danger to the Republic when its national police force (the FBI) and their bosses (the DOJ) become politicized tools of one party, That is what s dangerous! Congrats on having undermined citizen confidence in its own government
The new motto of the DOJ… “Show me the man, I will show you the crime”. By the way…. Orwell was a naive optimist.
Merrick, you disingenuous slug, go give us your tirade on Media Matters doing the exact same thing for lawyers on the right while we wait with bated breath.
Ah, shaddap, Cryptkeeper.
If it wasn’t for Mitch McConnell, this Fascist would have been on SCOTUS.
Plenty of things to knock the turtle for, but he was pretty good on judges.
That’s about the only credit I’ll give him. His wife being a Chinese spy isn’t a good thing, either.
The way to fix is to vote in Trump who hopefully will clear out the deadwood, racists, haters and bigots in the department.
It’s dangerous and outrageous to have a head of a federal agency who thinks that criticism of his agency could be dangerous and outrageous. In this country, the dog is supposed to wag the tail. That our government has been put in its place by the Constitution is supposed to be what makes us different. The likes of Garland would have that undone. This is the very definition of fascism.
Will someone please tell this vicious, querulous old biddy that the United States Constitution is a criticism of government?
