Donald Trump Makes In-Studio Appearance on the Greg Gutfeld Show

“I always said: Golf is a very dangerous game!”

Donald Trump appeared on the Gutfeld! show on FOX News last night and got a hero’s welcome from Greg’s live studio audience. Going on this show was a very smart move by Trump and his campaign.

Greg Gutfeld reaches a massive audience, often getting better ratings than Colbert and Kimmel who have network shows. Gutfeld also reaches a different audience than his FOX News colleagues like Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham. People watch Gutfeld! to have a good time.

Trump got laughs and applause from the crowd, talking about the debate, the election, Area 51 and more.

From FOX News:

Trump says he regrets not ‘going after’ ABC moderators during debate: ‘I wish I did’

Former President Trump expressed regret for not going after ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis during last week’s presidential debate.

“I think my only regret is that I wanted to be elegant, and I didn’t want to go after the anchors. I wish I did, in a way,” Trump said during an appearance Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Gutfeld!”

“I was very unfairly treated by the anchor. I’m not fans of those guys anymore – and his hair was better five years ago,” Trump quipped, referring to Muir, adding, “That happens with the clock.”…

The former president knocked the “fake news” for its fawning praise of Harris’ debate performance, accusing her of producing a “word salad” during her first response after she was asked whether Americans are better off financially now than four years ago.

“If I were Winston Churchill- he was a great debater, by the way, and an elegant debater. If I were Winston Churchill, they would say, ‘Well, he was okay, but he wasn’t special tonight,'” Trump said.

The New York Post has more:

The 45th president dodged a second attempt on his life Sunday after Secret Service agents spotted a rifle barrel poking out of some bushes along one of the holes of his Palm Beach, Fla., golf course, as Trump was on a green a few hundred yards away from the sniper.

“If they had told you that the shooter was there would you have tried to take him out with your 3 wood?” Gutfeld later asked Trump.

“I think so,” Trump responded. “If I knew.”

“Actually, the Secret Service did a great job,” he added. “They saw the barrel of a gun – big gun – and it came out through bushes. And how many people would see that?”

“He really was exceptional to have done it,” Trump said of the eagle-eyed agent.

“We’ve been going through a lot of it,” he said of being the target of would-be assassins in Butler, Pa., and Palm Beach. “We’re getting very good at it. But I don’t want to say that too loudly.”

Here are a couple of longer videos:

Going on Gutfeld! was smart politics and smart media strategy. Trump was able to show a side of himself that voters don’t get to see often enough.

He kept reverting to his rally speeches instead of listening to the comedy, which was a turn-off. He’s great in just conversation, which is what he should have stuck to.

I listened to him on Imus for decades. Do that instead.

Was a great show. Received a standing ovation at the opening. He was funny and not serious. Very smart to be on Gutfeld.

Nothing against his appearance there, but it’s a friendly interviewer and he was preaching to the choir. His task this year couldn’t have been clearer: to show independent voters that he is steady and can be trusted. His attacks on Biden were appropriate, but not the ad hominems against Harris. It doesn’t matter that they were mostly true; what came through was nastiness, and that has most certainly worked against him.

Trump should have been running away with it by now, but he isn’t. He and his amen chorus can piss and moan all they want, but if Trump wants to blame anyone for the current state of affairs, he would do well to have a long, candid chat with the guy he sees in his shaving mirror.

Independents are looking not so much at the issues, because they change. They are looking at how the candidates handle the issues, to gain whatever insight they can into the candidate’s character. It pains me to say this, but as vacuous as she is, Harris has been winning that contest. Not because she’s doing well at it, but because Trump is losing it.

    We shall see.

Please, stop acting like this is 1980.

Keep listening to the voices in your head, transmitting through the steel plate buried there or maybe the fillings in your teeth. LOL

Trump is a known quantity to everyone. The argument that independents are new to measuring his character (whatever that means) is ridiculous. He’s already been president once. He’s been in the public eye for five decades. Take out the nonsense of covid, and tell me with a straight face that independents would refuse to go back to the economy under Trump. Or flushing money down the Ukraine toilet. They want a Supreme Court packed with 25 leftist judges?

      Come on….

If T were “a known quantity to everyone,” there would be no voters on the bubble and there would be no need to care.

Who’s on the bubble? You type things but you bring zero evidence. The most recent PBS/NPR poll had 3% undecided. That’s another way of saying 97% of the people have made up their mind. Where do the undecided live? Do they all live in swing neighborhoods in swing counties in swing states? No. I’ve been reading stories about these morons, and they come from Florida, NYC, New Mexico, Oregon, Illinois and everywhere else.

Let’s assume the 3% is true – prove to me who in that 3% has absolutely no clue who Donald Trump is? I haven’t found any swing voter story where a swing voter has said – gee, I don’t know a thing about Trump. Even if it’s some newly minted 18-year-old, I’ll believe that 18-year-old has heard almost 100% negative things from a culture that hates Trump before I believe that same person has heard nothing about the man.

Stop typing blanket statements of nonsense.

Johnny Cache, to date myself by quoting a very old StarTrek episode: “Drink the tranya!” LOL

When I’d Kamalalaladingdong going on. Oh, that’s right Never

I have visited more than my fair share of the nations top 100 golf courses and many of them are surrounded by barriers that would make any prison warden jealous so when I saw the position the deranged democrat (but I repeat myself) took I was, quite frankly, shocked. Mr. Trump needs to fortify that golf course and do it quickly.

I enjoyed seeing Trump really smiling and enjoying himself. The Belt from Tyrus was an awesome gift.

Holy Moly. I knew Tyrus was a large man. But, he makes Trump look like an 8th-grader.

trump is TRYING TO BE SOMETHING HE IS NOT……..wishy washy

he wants to win sooooo bad now he is giving in to the lefty

STOP IT SIR !!

EVISCERATE THE LEFTY

I haven’t enjoyed late night shows as much as that one in years.

“Gutfeld” is rated #1 over any of the other after 10:pm shows which speaks volumes on the cross section of viewers tuning in. The consistent high ratings also points out that their ratings are not based on current events as was Tuesday’s broadcast.
The show is honest to knowing who they are and do not pretend to be night time “entertainment” having on guest stars who come on to maintain their public exposure or self-serving to promote their latest endeavor.
The price they pay is to kowtow to the host and whatever current affair policy they are bitching about. Network late night hasn’t had an entertaining late night show since Jay Leno retired.

Trump has usually done very well in one-on-one interviews, with some exceptions. What I saw of Gutfeld was excellent. So was a recent interview (May or June) with I believe Reuters. He is at his worst in his hyperbolic campaign rally speeches, and has not acquitted himself well in debates.

To those who would point to the June one with Biden, I would reply that Trump didn’t win that debate but that Biden lost it. Trump’s Achilles Heel is his anger. However justified (and a lot of it is), Wrath remains one of the Seven Deadly Sins, and he is most certainly an example of that danger.

If I were him, I would do everything I could to schedule one on one interviews, including with hostile interrogators, and to move heaven and hell to display stoicism and steadiness. As he sit here now, the national race is effectively tied when the poll skew is adjusted. It didn’t have to be that way, and he could easily lose the election because of his anger.

you’re not wrong but his Wrath is needed as he is attacked non stop and b/c the attacks are based on lies ( that has been proven time and again) he must attack back

WHAT HAS HAPPENED is that the msm etc has CONVINCED americans that this is what they need to go by

not whether or not he is right or wrong but ,,as you state,, his demeanor

Hillary just got done with that whole speech ( you parroting for her??) about how

Kamala exposed who he is with his anger and with that anger we cant trust him to be in charge of the nukes

you are saying he should allow himself to be attacked via “Stocism” etc

thats for the politicians to be THE PRETENDERS which is what we have always fought against

the ..”just .pass the bill ..we’ll examine the details later”

we patriots are tired of that and what to see real people NOT POLITICIANS

RandomCrank in reply to destroycommunism. | September 19, 2024 at 6:17 pm

Look, you are just as much in the tunnel for Trump as the liberals are for Harris. This is not about you, or about them. It is about the voters who could go either way, and who pretty much by definition are not deeply involved to put it mildly. Don’t talk to me about fairness or equity, etc., but about practical reality.

Yes, the media are biased against him. Always have been. The silver lining there for Trump is that the media have a low and declining trust rating among independent voters. What you are not even trying to do is to look at these candidates through fresh eyes. Your accusation that I am parroting for the Hildebeast actually made me laugh out loud.

Back to the bubble for you!

destroycommunism in reply to RandomCrank. | September 19, 2024 at 8:44 pm

I am pro american that is true

and your side is pro socialist

those who havent made their minds up yet

will have to choose from the sbove…pro america or socialist>>>communist

trump being himself is what pro americans want

        A NON POLITICIAN

like I said he is trying to win over people by being a little wishy washy

        f the left

they are going to cheat again anyways

they do it to each other in the primaries and figured out to do the same in the general election

His anger? Have you listened to a single democrat in the last 4 years? They make him sound calm and measured in comparison.
