Columbia President Minouche Shafik Steps Down Months After Anti-Israel Mobs Terrorized the Campus

Waaaaaaaaay overdue.

Columbia University Minouche Shafik finally resigned after months of criticism over her failure to contain anti-Israel mobs and not protecting Jewish students.

The anti-Israel/pro-Hamas mobs started their “Free Palestine” encampments at Columbia, but it didn’t take long for them to spread like wildfire across the nation.

“This period has taken a considerable toll on my family, as it has for others in our community,” Shafik wrote. “Over the summer, I have been able to reflect and have decided that my moving on at this point would best enable Columbia to traverse the challenges ahead. I am making this announcement now so that new leadership can be in place before the new term begins.”

How about the toll it took on the Jewish students?

What the what is Shafik talking about because none of us saw any of this when the mobs took over the campus:

During my inauguration, I spoke of Columbia as an exemplar of a great 21st century university committed to educating leaders and citizens, generating knowledge and ideas to solve problems, and engaging at the local and global level to deliver real impact in improving people’s lives. As president, I have been proud to witness Columbia making so many contributions to delivering that vital mission. I also spoke about the values and principles which are dear to me and, I know, to the Columbia community as well: academic freedom and free speech; openness to ideas; and zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind—including gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, or ethnicity. This mission, and the values and principles underpinning it, constitute our North Star. Even as tension, division, and politicization have disrupted our campus over the last year, our core mission and values endure and will continue to guide us in meeting the challenges ahead.

“Zero tolerance for discrimination.” You know, unless you’re discriminating against Jewish students.

Shakif did nothing to protect Jewish students as these pro-Hamas mobs terrorized the campus, yelling for the destruction of Israel and Jews.

It took months to end the encampments. It didn’t even stop even a bunch of students and outside agitators, including professional agitator Lisa Fithian, took over Hamilton Hall.

The lack of leadership caused the cancellation of the university wide commencement in May.

At that time, Shafik downplayed the disaster on campus by treating it like a preschool argument.

In June, Columbia settled with a Jewish student who sued the school because the leaders did nothing to protect them.

In April, Professor Jacobson described the movement as anti-American that is using Israel as a scapegoat.

I would say it’s an anti-Western civilization movement. But no doubt that Israel’s destruction, and thus extermination of Jews, topped the list.

Who could forget the images and videos of the mobs tormenting Jewish students?

Anyone else remember when University and College presidents lasted a decade or more? Why? Because the Boards hired managers who sought balance and discipline. Discipline. You misbehaved you got kicked out. When I was on the Faculty-Student Court in college, whose power was second only to the President, we did just that to students, including blacks, that compromised the peaceful studying and residency of the college. And it was fast.
So entire years would go by in the late ’60s with no incidences, particularly if an idiot was kicked off, expelled from campus, and noticed of trespass the years before.
This woman is a quivering fool. So invested in her wokeness she is functionally compromised.

soon to be consultant with harris

Two words:

condescending bitch

Geez, took her long enough.

The abruptness of the resignation makes me think a blowup is coming soon and she’s getting out ahead.

Considering that DA Bragg through out all charges against the “protesters” including the ones that took over and vandalized a building plus the vandalism of the COO’s apartment building I wonder if she knows it’s going to be another circus with no power to do anything or did the pro terrorist mob make a few not so subtle threats against her?

A high school graduate, living two generations ago, would have thought the author of that statement uneducated and mentally ill.

If this doesn’t take your breathe away and make you utterly disgusted

Nothing ever will

You can never hate the left/ Biden/ Harris regime enough

God save these 10 heros

We are the enemy…

This on top of the fact that the kamala-kalorama axis of evil along with the bottom dwellers of Foggy Bottom have been itching to replace Israel with Iran as the dominant power in the Middle East. While the Iranians were having a great old time with the Chi-Coms, look at this:

The Biden-Harris regime is all about holding and increasing its power, and Israel is in the way of that aspiration right now. In pursuit of votes in Michigan and Minnesota, Kamala Harris just chose Tim Walz as her running mate over a stronger candidate, Josh Shapiro, because Shapiro is Jewish. It has sent billions to the bankroller of Hamas and Hezbollah, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and hundreds of millions to Gaza, which means to Hamas. It has withheld arms shipments to Israel. And now it is being accused of a betrayal so immense that it makes those others look like friendship.
Amir Fakhravar, a former political prisoner of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) inside Iran and the Senate chairman of the National Iranian Congress, states that shortly after the assassination of Hamas top dog Ismail Haniyeh and a key Hizballah operative, Fuad Shukr, the Biden-Harris regime swung into action. To warn the Iranians that if they attacked Israel, they would suffer serious consequences? That’s what many have assumed. In an opinion piece at Fox News on Monday, Fakhravar revealed that “Kuwait’s Al-Jarida newspaper, citing an unnamed source in Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, reported that a high-level American security delegation, brokered by Oman, secretly traveled to Tehran.” That doesn’t sound so bad in itself. But it gets much, much worse.

The mission of this high-level delegation, according to Fakhravar, was not to deter the Iranians from striking against Israel by informing them that America was fully prepared to defend its ally. Instead, the delegation’s job was to “deliver a ‘calming and cautionary’ message to deescalate the situation and ensure the supreme leader of Iran understood that the Biden-Harris administration was ‘kept in the dark’ by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the killing of two major terrorist leaders last week.”

That’s right: the American delegation, if the Kuwaiti report is correct, did not go to Tehran to demonstrate America’s strength; rather, it went there in order to show America’s weakness. The delegation was intent not on warning Iran not to attack Israel, but to insist that America hadn’t had anything to do with the killings of Haniyeh and Shukr, for those nasty Israelis had not taken them into their confidence.

Even worse, these cowardly appeasers reportedly went to the Iranians bearing gifts. Fakhravar states: “The detailed report stated that the American delegation, arriving on a private plane from Turkey, landed at Payam-e-Khorram Airport in Karaj on Thursday and held a two-hour meeting with Iranian officials before returning to Ankara.” At this meeting, the greatest betrayal of all was consummated: “the delegation presented a list containing the names of ten Mossad agents inside Iran, whom the Americans believe were involved in the assassination, directly or indirectly.”

its not that iran isnt the dominant force in the middle east ( or on par with israel and turkey and qutar)

its that a conservative israel poses the most threat to a lefty/globalist pov

whereas irans bad actions can be excused as …well you know how they are … by the globalists and then

when iran might do something not so evil..the globalists can and will applaud them
(hmmm,,just the same way they treat blacks and women)

    but with israel???

    NO WAY

THE J EWS HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE SCAPEGOATS

unless they are willing to burn down police stations etc and put that kind of fear into those that like to do them harm

If you’re going to plagiarize half of an Ace of Spades article, at least give them credit. It doesn’t take an AI to determine that this is nothing like your usual writing style.

Let me guess, she’s off to Harvard? (s)

she represents many females pov as her socialist agenda is clear and as we know a far left female has to be in charge or america is racist and sexist

The leftist females continue to exhibit why most of the muslim world prefers their women covered from head to toe and silenced. Now that she is gone from Columbia, perhaps a clean out of the rest of the non-scholars pretending to be professors will be rooted out and sent on their way. Add to that leftist pretenders throughout education system. MAGA.

Assuming she wrote her resignation letter herself, she’s a pretty poor writer.
