*UPDATE* Columbia Students Occupying Hamilton Hall Face Expulsion

*UPDATE* Columbia Students Occupying Hamilton Hall Face Expulsion

I have no words.

Update

Ben Chang, Columbia’s spokesperson, announced the students occupying Hamilton Hall *face* expulsion.

The wording is crucial. They aren’t expelled…yet.

I laughed when he said, “Our top priority is restoring safety and order on our campus.”

Except…they’re not because they’re not doing anything:

We made it very clear yesterday that the work of the University cannot be endlessly interrupted by protesters who violate the rules. Continuing to do so will be met with clear consequences. Protesters have chosen to escalate the untenable situation – vandalizing property, breaking doors and windows, and blockading entrances – and we are following through with the consequences we outlined yesterday.

Then expel them!!!

One protester said the mob wants humanitarian aid.

Bring us food!!

From This Morning

As Mike says in a QT today…Columbia is lost.

Columbia University Apartheid Divest lost it last night, breaking into Hamilton Hall and terrorizing people.

They renamed it Hind’s Hall after Hind Rajab, a 6-year-old supposedly killed by Israeli forces.

They demand divestment, financial transparency, and amnesty.

One facilities worker said, “They held me hostage.”

The mob assaulted students, trying to protect the building.

We know what they do to hostages.

And these college students (terrorists) want Joe Biden to raise capital gains taxes and increase income tax rates on US taxpayers’ dollars and then use the money to pay off their student loans?

Hey Joe, tell us why, one more time, why that is a good idea.

LMAO. This time we really mean it. Your facing a mark on your permanent record, mister.

These asshats have heard enough empty threats from the affirmative action presidents of colleges without any consequences. Why does anyone think these kids will listen now?

“Many students have called the police but where are you???”

It reminds me of the students in Uvalde. They called the police. The police came, but they were afraid to do anything.

GWB in reply to Paula. | April 30, 2024 at 11:42 am

Maybe the hostage students (if any remain) need to call for a militia to come to their aid.

Sailorcurt in reply to Paula. | April 30, 2024 at 1:06 pm

If you were a cop at a liberal school in a liberal city like that would you intervene in something like this?

It’s a lose/lose proposition. When it turns violent, either you lose and get beaten to a pulp by a mob, or you win and get arrested and prosecuted for mistreating those poor misunderstood peaceful protestors.

I think I’d be engaged in issuing a record number of parking tickets, watching for jaywalkers and other vitally important policing functions on the other side of campus.

I guess that’s why I’m not a cop. I’m not a fan of being prosecuted and jailed for doing my job.

Ghostrider in reply to Sailorcurt. | April 30, 2024 at 3:17 pm

The organizers are smart; they know it’s a lose-lose situation because they deliberately created the chaos. Obama graduated from Columbia. Obama is a community organizer. Is Obama behind these campus protests and takeovers?

The innocents are the ones who will be harassed, assaulted, and (perhaps) killed by the terrorists. By contrast the administration and faculty who caused this with their lies, hate and cowardice will never be made to suffer.

Fat_Freddys_Cat | April 30, 2024 at 9:50 am

For years, academia has been giving middle America the middle finger. So I don’t know how inclined I am to see police officers risk their necks–and/or their careers and their liberty–to bail Columbia out, especially given that the DAs are more likely to indict the police than the lawbreakers.

They’ve been training up their socialist foot soldiers and now the monster has turned on its maker. That’s what happens when you make a monster. If these “educated” folks had ever read a real book they’d know this.

The police won’t protect us – time to reinstate the Jewish Defense League… after all, as these loons keep telling us, when a people are occupied resistance is justified.

Paddy M in reply to JDmyrm. | April 30, 2024 at 10:16 am

The police would arrest the JDL. They know which master they serve in the blue areas and it’s not the law-abiding. I don’t disagree that the defense is needed though.

The Democratic convention will be a “gas”

I’m imagining Republican will be as bad, in Milwaukee, a Democrat strong hole

Really, who’s right idea was that?

There might be 100 rioters in those pictures. If that’s an accurate depiction of the “mob” a squad of well trained girl scouts with a few riot gas canisters could have kept them out of the building.

The so-called authorities elected not to.

“Columbia University Protesters”

If I knew what percentage of the protesters are students and of those, what percentage are muslims, I would no doubt choke on my coffee and donut.

They have the BDS movement, but we need an AID movement:

Arrest
Imprison
Deport

SeiteiSouther | April 30, 2024 at 10:12 am

I don’t care anymore. They had the power to stop this long ago and refused to stop it. Now, they’re trying to negotiate with adult toddlers in the throes of a tantrum. They’re wasting their time.

The college deserves this, and more. I hear that incoming students are now deciding not to go to Columbia and go elsewhere. Sucks to suck, doesn’t it, Columbia?

The Gentle Grizzly | April 30, 2024 at 10:13 am

Now, zuptie the doors from OUTSIDE and shut off the utilities. Water, gas, phones, Internet, electricity, and any campus -wide WiFi in close enough proximity to reach the building.

Then, wait a week or two.

Yes. Also actively block cell service or just put an intercept antenna so all calls and communications are trapped and recorded.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Martin. | April 30, 2024 at 11:16 am

I was thinking something along the lines of stopping data services, but shut ALL of it off? No, I don’t think so. There is too much chance of someone not involved in this, or who are not even connected to Columbia needing to make a 911 call.

It’s not like there’s not police nearby for them to contact. They just have to open a window and yell for help in your scenario, right?

But, without cellphone service for their social media they can’t cry to mama or their co-conspirators for help.

Replace shafik. Expel extremists.

Otherwise alum should cease donations to endowment.

This is much more than “anti Israel”. They are pro terrorist!

Multiple crimes here. That is felony vandalism for sure.

None of this will end until this jack ass Hamas hate group is given some actual consequences without negotiation or forwarning. Just punishment including arrest, expulsion, fines and yes having visas revoked and expelled. At this point Columbia looks like an urban high school for emotionally disturbed children except those schools at least have plans for how to deal with the behavior.

E Howard Hunt | April 30, 2024 at 10:55 am

At $90,000 a year you’d think these scholars would know that Hind’s Hall needs an apostrophe.

One facilities worker said, “They held me hostage.”
EVERYONE involved needs to be charged with felony illegal detention. Round up the entire group and throw ’em in the clink and give them a judge that graduated from VMI. They were all part of a felony act (breaking and entering is possibly appropriate) that had as a direct result the illegal detention. Oh, and let’s not forget conspiracy.

GWB in reply to GWB. | April 30, 2024 at 11:38 am

I confused this with the Virginia Commonwealth one. But a VMI grad would still probably be a good call for a judge.

Love the media spokesperson at UF who after arresting their own version of a Hamas encampment and barring them from campus for 3 years stated “it’s not a day care” https://www.gainesville.com/story/news/local/2024/04/29/police-detain-at-least-five-protesters-at-university-of-florida/73507050007/

This IS the way to get your CV in order to be AG of the USA…. ask Eric Holder who did the same with a group of ARMED protestors at Columbia. The Nation (CCP lackies) said these are mostly peaceful and the Right is churning up the game. duh…

Another Voice | April 30, 2024 at 12:29 pm

“Columbia Business School professor Shai Davidai, who was barred from campus last week after trying to lead a pro-Jewish rally, was among those to rip the Ivy League school’s president and board in the wake of the latest developments. “Yet again, Columbia failed to follow through on its promise to protect its Jewish and Israelis students,” Davidai fired off”

Is this any different at Cornell U. when Pres. Pollack accepted a Leave of Absence from Prof. Russell Rickford and rather than Deny it and hold him to accountability? Even as a Tenured Prof., he crossed a line of University Rules. Even now being on a ‘Leave of Absence’ and with his responsibilities assigned to another, he has returned to Campus doing and spewing the same Pro-Palestinian/Anti Israel tripe if only to phrase it with different synonyms.

Like a plant, Pollack is not only watering it, she’s fertilizing the continuation on campus. The take over at Columbia’s Hamilton Hall is very reminiscent of Cornell’s Willard Straight Hall in 1968 where guns were brought into the building. To date that has not happened on campuses, yet the likely hood for that to happen is far greater now than 1968. And the fact Cornellians have that in their collective history.

Pollack has avoided the national press so far. The fair weather in Up State New York could make the last month of the semester a hell hole if she doesn’t take a harder line on open doors to out siders which technically Russell is.

Leftist protesters attacking leftist professors and administrations at leftist colleges.

Where’s the downside?

Burn the places down and kill each other. Who cares? Burn in hell, all of you.

And to the sad Jewish kids who can’t get to their classes, fuck you. You would be right there with that mob if it were something besides ‘kill the jews’ –but when we warned you, you demanded we chant ‘BLM’ or ‘Protect trans lives’ or ‘end oil now’

You reap what you sow.

I hope this madness continues through summer into fall.

All the while Madame Shafik DeFarge sits atop Columbia knitting.

Ghostrider in reply to Tiki. | April 30, 2024 at 3:22 pm

I wonder if DeFarge has already proclaimed to her staff that now they are in the building, “to let them eat cake!”

How many lines in the sand is this? How many threats and deadlines have passed?

They don’t mean it. These extremists know they don’t mean it.

The admin, college board and faculty stand with these new NAZI’s and it has been clear as day.

Update: Columbia Suspends Media Access to Campus ‘As a Safety Measure’

So, it’s too unsafe for the press to be on the campus. But not unsafe enough to call in the cops or the national guard to step on these cockroaches once and for all.

https://freebeacon.com/campus/columbia-suspends-media-access-to-campus-as-a-safety-measure/

Maybe they could ask the Capitol Police for backup and mutual assistance. Tell them that Trump supporters are occupying the building, then we’d see the batons and handcuffs come out.

Academia has been doing everything they can to undermine the US, the rule of law, and western civilization for years now. The good news is these institutions are reaping what they sowed. Sucks for the legit students actually looking for an education. But they probably weren’t getting much of one at these woke institutions anyway.

Northwestern University loses what was left of it’s credibility. Gives full-ride scholarships to terrorists.

“While not committing to divesting its endowment from companies that do business in Israel and ending partnerships with Israeli institutions, the university released a list of concessions in a celebratory statement Monday afternoon in exchange for the removal of the encampment on the lawn.

Most notable among those concessions is a promise to offer full-ride scholarships to Palestinian students and guaranteed faculty jobs for Palestinian academics..:

Subotai Bahadur in reply to Gosport. | April 30, 2024 at 6:15 pm

Sounds like it is time for anyone who is not a Palestinian to transfer out. And if you are not a Palestinian, don’t apply to go there.

    Subotai Bahadur

Islamofascists, Muslim supremacists and useful idiot, non-Muslim Dhimmi-crat allies and enablers — the new Hitler Youth. Courtesy of decades of the vile Dhimmi-crats’ propagation and parroting of manifestly evil, contrived and fallacious propaganda mythologies vilifying Israel and Israeli Jews, while falsely casting the genocidal, fanatical, Islamofascist Fakestinians as alleged victims.

Just sent in the riot guys with shields and bean bag rounds with orders to aim for the crotch. Hurts like hell whether they are male, female, or undecided.

It’s a crowd of toddlers who are bullies. Once a few of them go down the others will become much more reasonable.

I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Columbia’s administration is even more radical than these terror supporting students.

Odds of them actually expelling them are pretty much zero. Maybe one or two, if they make national news for making death threats. That’ll be about it, I think.

OBloodyhell | May 1, 2024 at 2:04 am

Folks, Have some REAL fun with this. Bring pig’s blood, and pour it on yourself and the entrances!!

Let them face THAT moral quandary.

We missed some of the Nazis in WW2.
