Progressive Oakland Mayor Faces Recall in November With District Attorney
“Thao’s actions have pushed Oakland to the brink, but the community is saying, ‘NO MORE. We want Thao gone.”
Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and District Attorney Pamela Price will face a recall vote in November.
The city clerk confirmed that the push to recall Thao had enough verified signatures.
The group behind Price’s recall got enough verified signatures in April.
“This historic achievement marks the first recall in Oakland’s history, with Oakland voters signing with a sense of urgency and purpose to recall this dishonest and incompetent mayor,” stated OUST President, Retired Alameda County Superior Court Judge Brenda Harbin-Forte.”Thao’s actions have pushed Oakland to the brink, but the community is saying, ‘NO MORE. We want Thao gone.”
Recall Thao listed its grievances. Most are connected to crime:
- Missed grant cost the city millions while businesses closed.
- Fired OPD chief LeRonne Armstrong for no cause.
- Lied about calling State of Emergency.
- Lost the Oakland A’s.
Thao tried to brag that crime rates have fallen, but her statistics didn’t include robbery and home invasions. Anything to look good:
But it’s also notable what the mayor didn’t report. According to Oakland police figures, robberies are up 40% year to date compared to the same time frame last year, with home invasions going from 8 to 18 so far this year – a 125% increase.
And stats aren’t of any comfort to crime victims. At Temescal Alley, a trendy North Oakland shopping spot where burglars recently broke into five businesses, merchants are frustrated, with some complaining Oakland police didn’t show up for hours.
The city will lose a Catholic school because of crime and human trafficking.
Pirates. Pirates have plagued Oakland, too.
Oakland police told people to use air horns to alert neighbors to intruders.
Oakland lost its only In-N-Out and Denny’s. Employees at a pizza restaurant had to fight off robbers to fend off a fourth robbery.

Problem is Oakland’s Democrat voters cannot (will not) see that it’s the Biden/Obama syndicate that is pushing Oakland — and other cities — to the brink.
I used to live in Oakland but now live a few miles south. Sure … get rid of their current Mayor and DA … and replace ’em with R’s (which here … are either spineless, RINO’s or nut jobs) but so what? The likelihood that ANYTHING can change or moderate the behavior of the criminal element of their citizenry is imperceptible.
How did they celebrate Juneteenth? By illegal sideshows and a gun fight at Lake Merit.
The measures needed to turn Oakland around are enormous.

Of course. FBI has to become involved now; they didn’t before as the Mayor was being protected; and if they wait too long they look like they’re piling on. So it had to be now.
So she is involved with illegal campaign contributions or was it payoffs to the campaign to secure waste collection contracts?
