VIDEO: Young Cat Fails to Anger Gigantic Newfoundland Dog

Newfoundland dogs are incredibly patient.

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to sneak in this quick take as a quick break from all of the insanity we are covering every day.

This is a great video. The cat is not a kitten, but obviously not a full-grown cat. The dog, which is a Newfoundland, is absolutely massive, as they are. Newfoundland dogs are known to be gentle giants. They’re great with other pets like cats and other dogs. They also have a reputation for being excellent with small children. People call them ‘Nanny’ dogs.

In this case, the video is hilarious because the dog is so unimpressed with the antics of the young cat.

It’s so funny. Watch:

Newfoundland dogs are known primarily for being water rescue dogs. They have a natural talent for swimming and rescuing people from drowning, but a side bonus is their gentle temperament. Newfoundland dogs are incredibly patient.

If I had the room and the time… I think a Newf is as close as I could get to having a bear as my animal buddy.

J. M. Barrie, the definitive source on the matter, has said that the dog Nana in Peter Pan was a Newfoundland.

I love love love this! Now I want a Newfoundland (alas, like Bear I have no room for one, nor could I afford to feed it–look at the size of that thing!), but this video is adorable. That kitty is still very young, I’d guess less than a year old, and oh so cute! Thanks for posting this; I think we can all use a cuteness break now and then.

Love that pup!! My Goldens are also very, very patient. They are naturals with kids, and really are quite the natural babysitters sometimes. The older one of the pair acts like my kids are her pups and she keeps them corralled and the younger keeps watch.
