Nevada Dem. Sen. Rosen Pours Money Into Ads as Her Race Tightens to ‘Toss Up’
Will the Republicans mess this up?
Nevada is in play in November concerning the Senate! I wonder how the Republicans will mess this up.
Nevada Democratic Sen. Jacky Rosen poured $14 million into new ads after polls showed her race tighten up to the point where The Cook Political Report moved it to “Toss Up.” Republicans have a shot in Ohio, Montana, Arizona, and now Nevada:
Democrats face an incredibly challenging 2024 Senate map that has them almost entirely on defense. While our three Toss Up races have remained constant and fairly obvious for some months now — Ohio, Montana and Arizona — we have mulled over whether any of the other competitive contests in the Lean Democrat column deserve a more vulnerable rating.
It’s quite possible all four could eventually move into the Toss Up column, reflecting even more peril for Senate Democrats. But as we look at the most recent polling numbers and trends in the presidential race, we now believe it is time for another Democrat to join the Toss Up ranks: Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen.
Nevada has been an interesting case study since 2020.
In 2022, Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto won her race with only around 8,000 votes. That same year, Republican Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo ousted incumbent Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak.
President Joe Biden defeated former President Donald Trump by only two points in 2020.
Thing is, the race is now a “Toss Up” but the state hasn’t even had it’s Republican primary for the Senate race:
The big picture: The Rosen campaign is placing the eye-popping advertising reservation as a contentious primary plays out on the Republican side.
- Republican Jeff Gunter, a former U.S. ambassador to Iceland under the Trump administration, has painted himself as the MAGA candidate in the race.
- But Republican Sam Brown, an Army veteran, has picked up the support of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, giving him institutional party backing.
Cook Political said it would “reassess” the rating if Brown does not win the primary.
However, the presidential race influenced the outlet as much as the Senate race. Nevada is a “Toss Up” in the rematch:
But what’s even more concerning for Democrats is where Biden’s numbers are in the state compared to Trump’s. Every poll this year has shown Trump ahead, with an even wider lead in a multi-candidate field — and remember that Nevada also has the option to choose “none of the above.” That was a difference-maker in the 2022 Senate race (with 1.2% of voters choosing that option), and in a close presidential contest featuring two unpopular nominees it could also have particular resonance. Post-State of the Union, an early March Morning Consult/Bloomberg poll did show a better result for Biden in a head to head; he only trailed Trump 44%-46%. A Wall Street Journal poll released Wednesday morning found Trump with a four point lead over Biden.

It’s not a fact. You are delusional. You need to present “facts” of this, but so far neither Trump nor any of his supporters have been able to prove these so called “facts.” Yes, there was a lack of transparency, which as Scott Adams has written, needs to be corrected. But until you can provide actual proof that Trump won the last election, then you are just howling at the moon. I know, it feels good to howl at the moon, I have done it myself, but that doesn’t change the facts.
The top of the ticket will absolutely come into play on lots of swing State Senate contests, other statewide contests as well as purple HoR races. The top of the ticket gonna have to do what it takes to pull some of these candidates across the finish line in order to get and maintain a majority.

Pre-buying all those ads suggests they intend to nationalize the Nevada election, pumped full of the party scare / promise message of the day.
It’ll all be about installing the right Senator to support the good guys doing what must be done federally: climate, jabs, Ukraine, security. Or restrain the bad guys if the Orange Man Bad gets in.
Well, they’ve shown their plan:; nationalize the local toss-up elections. Why not? They think they have an albatross to hang on all the local R candidates. And it worked in the mid-terms.
The useful question is what are The Feckless Rs gonna do, knowing this? I wonder what sane politics The Orange Crush might be induced to do, being himself the national issue, for the glory of securing R-party seats when the prior folks could not. Can he be induced through ego to actually dial back some of the preening that so much gives people the ick?
Republicans will mess this up by having Trump at the top of the ticket. The only way America as we know it survives this election is if people vote down ticket, to elect enough Republicans to stop Biden’s initiatives. Trump; is a loser, and he has no problem with taking the rest of our country down with him. It is always about Trump. Always . What a narcissist.

The election for better or worse is a rematch of Biden and Trump. Get over it. Both have a substantial percentage of folks who will refuse to vote for them, probably between 85-90% of the electorate combined. The goal now must be to work to attract enough of the remaining voters, the 10 to 15%(+/-), who are still making up their mind to block Biden and the d/prog ideologues from gaining another four years of control over the Executive Branch.
Standing aside b/c of personality issues with a candidate or any other reason does nothing but help Biden and his handlers retain their grip on power. Giving up and allowing that to happen, simply handing them the win will do irreparable damage to our Nation if they have another four consecutive years of control. Like him or hate him Trump is gonna be the nominee and thus the only serious challenger to prevent the d/prog doing more damage.

“None of the above” received 1% in the 2020 presidential race. Rosen, a Harry Reid creation, doesn’t have the deep political roots that Cortez-Masto has. Sam Brown (who has a large edge in primary polling) will be harder to attack than often off-putting Adam Laxalt, If Trump maintains his lead in Nevada, the senate seat should flip. Biggest challenge: ballot harvesting.
I was honored to have met Sam Brown, who is now running for the Senate from Nevada. He undoubtedly is the bravest man I’ve ever met, and a born leader of men. Having been severely disfigured by an IED in Afghanistan, this young man dressed in civilian clothes to travel by plane to visit relatives while still undergoing treatment. He literally did not have a face. But when you looked into his eyes, you saw the man beneath the scars. Since then, he has undergone more surgeries, and also married his nurse and had children. This guy is worth sending to the Senate. I wish him all the best.

It will be interesting to see if booting Ronna McDaniel out of the RNC Chair will break the hold of the establishment RINOs and the long run of Republicans losing unlosable elections.
Specifically, the RINOs who don’t want to rock the establishment boat and prefer being in the minority because then they can’t be blamed for not doing what they were elected to do. The status quo preserves the perks of their fancy offices, insider trading access, and invitations to elite DC cocktail parties, all for the mere cost of selling their souls and selling out their constituents.
Nevada will be well served by either Brown or Gunter. I doubt tying either to Trump will do much of anything in the state either way as both are strong on border security and other issues. I lean towards Brown, though for his strong work with my fellow Veterans

This is not a plus. The NRSC wasted millions in Alaska protecting a republican held seat from a republican.
And thereby lost several seats that were left to fight on their own.
They gave the Senate to the Dems rather than have it go MAGA.
So an endorsement from the NRSC is not a plus.
So he should give it back?
This is the same guy who got pushed aside in ’22 Sen primary in favor of Adam Laxalt who was much more the epitome of an establishment candidate based on CV.
As Clark County goes, so goes Nevada Clark County population 2.323 million: Nevada 3.178 million. Both Rosen and Masto are Harry Reid bots and cretins.
