Anti-Israel Encampments: Columbia Caves, Extends ‘Negotiations’ as Hamas Reportedly Shows Support for Protesters

Anti-Israel Encampments: Columbia Caves, Extends ‘Negotiations’ as Hamas Reportedly Shows Support for Protesters

Rep. Ilhan Omar is ignoring her starving and homeless daughter by speaking at the encampment at U. Minnesota.

Another day of anti-Israel encampments across the nation!

Columbia University

Columbia President Nemak Shafik set a midnight deadline to clear out the anti-Israel encampment that shut down the school to virtual or hybrid classes.

Then Shafik extended the clearing out to 8 AM.

Now? 48-hour extension for negotiations.

What a coward.

Hamas Support?

It wouldn’t shock me if this is true. Translation via Google:

The American administration, led by President Biden, violates individual rights and the right to expression, and arrests university students and faculty members because of their rejection of the genocide that our Palestinian people are subjected to in the Gaza Strip at the hands of the neo-Nazi Zionists, without the slightest sense of shame about the legal value represented by the students and university professors.

The Biden administration, which is a partner in the brutal war on our Palestinian people, does not want to acknowledge that it is before American public opinion that discovered the truth about the Nazi entity and sided with human values and decided to stand on the right side of history. Today’s students are the leaders of the future, and their suppression today means an expensive electoral bill that the Biden administration will pay sooner or later. .

U. Minnesota

Rep. Ilhan Omar is ignoring her STARVING AND HOMELESS daughter by traveling to U. Minnesota. She spoke at the encampment.

USC

All hell broke loose. It’s not shocking that outside forces infiltrated.

UT Austin

UT Austin isn’t acting like the Ivies.

Why don’t all these people put their words in action and go to Gaza and fight with them? Do everyone a favor!

If you’re negotiating with the inmates, it means that they are the ones that are running the asylum!

Don’t be surprised if in another 48 hours Shafik is endorsing every demand made by the pro-Hamas demonstrators.

Meanwhile, Christoper Wray ran to NBC News to do a sit-down interview with Lester Holt to publicly proclaim that they are NOT surveilling the pro-Hamas protests….where people are chanting Death to America and celebrating terrorist organizations that are currently holding American hostages. Obviously, all the FBI resources are tied up spying on Catholics and arresting white grandmas who voted for Trump.

Feel safe now?

fjb policies dictate what the colleges should do

why do you think these student “loans” are forgiven??!!

Colleges and universities received $1.068 trillion in revenue from federal and non-federal funding sources in 2018.

The federal government directed 65% of its $149 billion investments to federal student aid which covers scholarships, work-study and loans given to students for their educational expenses.

There are wonderful little colleges dotted across the states that teach engineering, medicine, law, and other useful college degrees.

Most of the demands being made by the protesters are laughable. “Liberating Palestine” would require forcibly removing the Israelis; good luck with that! I wonder how many of these “heroic freedom fighters” would volunteer to do the dirty work, rifle in hand?

“Oh no, my expertise is needed here! You know, my expertise in making posters and performing ludicrous childish dances to express solidarity with my Palestinian brothers and sisters! Wherever ‘Palestine’ is…it’s somewhere in France, right?”

If you like these anti-American protests, you’re gonna love the future anti-American protests. Sen. Eric Schmitt just pointed out that ‘Not only did the “Foreign Aid” package do nothing to secure our own border it included $3.5 Billion to supercharge mass migration from the Middle East.

It would have seemed possible that the GOP could have picked a worse House leader than Kevin McCarthy. Not only was it possible, but it appears that’s exactly what they did.

IMO, the Admin of these Univ are headed by committed leftists (distinct from liberal) and the ‘protests’ are run by fellow leftists. The Admin and the ‘protesters’ don’t really disagree about the message of the protest; Israel bad, Western Colonialism bad, Capitalism bad and the ‘Palestinian People’ are innocent victims not of Hamas but of Israeli aggression. The antisemitism is a bonus.

IOW the Admin not taking immediate measures to disburse the braying mob isn’t a betrayal or a failure in their own estimation. They aren’t being cowed into a refusal to take action b/c they not only mostly agree with the message but also agree with the means of the communication. If they didn’t then they would have clamped down hard before now when there were smaller, incremental and more isolated examples of what is occurring now on a more widespread basis. They ain’t cowards so much as they are confederates of the mob.

Columbia president shafik must resign in disgrace. She has done irreparable damage to columbia.

It seems to me that Columbia President Shafik is employing the same negotiating tactics that our progressives advocate Israel do with Hamas. I don’t think this is going to work very well. Instead, she would be well advised to follow the Israel negotiating playbook. But that would be too much to hope for.

If all these idiots love Gaza so much, they should be forced to go there.

I teach at a community college and have worked at them for 10 years or so. There are no protests at any of them because these students aren’t privileged upper-class snots.
All of them work for a living and many of them have families to raise. They have no time to protest, let alone attend extracurricular activities. They are salt of the earth folks, and they barely know or comprehend the issues. And that’s not a bad thing.
God bless them, every one.

They would have done the same with protesters supporting Osama Bin Laden after 9/11.

Absolute evil.

It’s time for a national BDS movement (boycott) by Americans and American businesses against Ivy League and other America and Jew hating universities like this.

First step, a national petition. Could probably easily get hundreds of thousands of signatures in short order.
