Shots Fired at Albany (NY) Synagogue, Suspect Shouted ‘Free Palestine’
No one has said anything about the suspect “because he has not been charged.”
Albany, NY, police detained a 28-year-old man suspected of shooting two rounds outside of Temple Israel right before the beginning of Hanukkah at sundown.

A 28-year-old man was immediately detained in connection with the shooting, which came hours before the start of Chanukah at sundown.
The suspect told both a bystander and responding officers, “Free Palestine,” according to Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins.
“Make no mistake, the safety of Jewish New Yorkers is non-negotiable,” Gov. Hochul said. “Any act of antisemitism is unacceptable, and undermining public safety at a synagogue on the first night of Chanukah is even more deplorable.”
The staff noticed the armed man outside the building. They immediately placed the building on lockdown, including an early childhood center filled with small children.
The suspect did not shoot anyone or damage the buildings.
Hochul continued: “I have spoken to the rabbi at Temple Israel and assured her the state will do everything in our power to restore the sense of security her community needs.”
The police and FBI have chosen to investigate the shooting as a potential hate crime.

Of course. I’m sure the temple’s spiritual leader, Rabbi Wendy Love Anderson, wouldn’t have it any other way. I haven’t been able to find anything specific about her politics, but there are many reasons why I am fairly confident she is a good Progressive Democrat, and would repeal the second amendment if she could.

Before 9/11 we had “arab experts” on TV. After 9/11 all of the arab experts disappeared and were replaced with muslim experts – whether it was about arabs or muslims or whatever. You never hear from “arab” experts anymore.
In America, all of a sudden women in burkhas were turning up everywhere. Mosque-building went into overdrive (you can search for your own records). The muslims even had the chutzpah to try and build a victory mosque close to Ground Zero, run by an organization called “The Cordoba Project” (which was something that escaped most Americans, though I would bet that you understand what the significance of that name is). Muslims started flooding in, here (as America had been blessed, up until 9/11, with pretty much no muslims – save the bunch Clinton started bringing in in the 90s) but after 9/11 the muslim floodgates to America were broken wide open – just like our border, today.

A 74% increase in 23 years means the number has less than doubled. That’s not “going into overdrive”. There have also been many new synagogues established in that time; it stands to reason that a community with a high rate of natural increase, many of whom, in search of more affordable housing, are moving to new areas where there were no suitable facilities already established, will start new ones.

I’m pretty sure it’s a felony in NY to discharge a firearm within city limits, outside a licensed gun range, unless you’re doing so in self defense.
