The Israeli ground offensive continues to expose the depths of Hamas’ depravity. The Islamic terrorist group that burnt and beheaded Israeli babies on October 7, is now apparently grooming Gaza’s children to become suicide bombers in its jihad against the advancing Israeli troops.
Israeli soldiers found ‘child-sized suicide vests’ during a raid in northern Gaza, the Israeli media reported Sunday citing military sources.
The children’s suicide vests were reportedly hidden inside a medical facility. “IDF soldiers made the chilling discovery in a medical clinic that also held dozens of mortars and hundreds of grenades,” the Israeli broadcaster Arutz Sheva reported.
“In the northern Gaza Strip, IDF troops located a Hamas weapons compound inside a civilian structure. Explosive belts adapted for children, dozens of mortar shells, hundreds of grenades, and intelligence documents were found inside the compound, which was located adjacent to schools, a mosque, and a medical clinic,” the IDF disclosed in a press release on Sunday morning.
The suicide vests meant for children were uncovered amid reports that the IDF has killed more than 8,000 Hamas and allies terrorist fighters since the counter-terrorism operation was launched after October 7 massacre. In recent days, Hamas has deployed female suicide bombers, covered in Burqa or similar full-body Islamic garbs, against IDF troops engaged in urban combat in Gaza.
Hamas is estimated to have a terrorist fighting force of around 30,000, recent Israeli estimates say. But many of the jihad fighters have began surrendering to the Israeli military and others are hiding underneath terror tunnels in residential areas — hoping that the international pressure will force Israel to stop the military operation without achieving its objective of ridding Gaza of Hamas.
The military continues to destroy Hamas’s infrastructure and terrorist fighting force, an IDF press release on Sunday reveals
During IDF activity in the northern Gaza Strip, IDF troops identified a number of terrorists that exited a Hamas military compound containing observation assets. The ground forces directed an aerial strike on the compound and the terrorists were killed.During IDF activity in Jabalya, the troops together with an aircraft and artillery, killed seven terrorists and destroyed four Hamas observation assets distributed in the area.In addition, during a targeted raid on a military command center in Khan Yunis, IDF soldiers located numerous weapons, including dozens of grenades and explosives.Over the past day, IDF ground, aerial, and naval forces struck approximately 200 terror targets in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military over the weekend lost at least 14 soldiers as battle against Hamas strongholds rages across Gaza, taking the total losses to 153 since the ground operation began more than eight weeks ago.
The IDF soldiers are fighting in an urban environment where their opponent treats its own civilians human shields while carrying out sneak attacking using a network of fortified and well-dug-in terror tunnels.
“The Israel Defense Forces announced Sunday the names of nine soldiers killed in fighting in the Gaza Strip throughout the previous day, bringing the number of troops killed over the entire weekend to 14, as the military deepened its offensive against the Hamas terror group,” the Times of Israel reported. “Five soldiers of the Combat Engineering Corps and a paramedic were killed by an anti-tank guided missile that hit a Namer armored engineering vehicle they were in, in southern Gaza. Another four were killed by bombs in two separate incidents during battles with gunmen in central Gaza.”
