Hunter Biden Whines to the Press, Skips Scheduled Deposition

“Let me state as clearly as I can: My father was not financially involved in my business.”

Hunter Biden gave an impassioned “I am a victim” speech to the press before his scheduled deposition on Capitol Hill. The arrogance and narcissism of this man is truly something to behold.

Yeah, Hunter isn’t showing up for the scheduled deposition because he is super duper special. I added his full statement at the end.

It’s all MAGA Republicans’ fault or something.

But the speech…the language is important, especially this part.

*Financially* It’s gone from Joe Biden did not know anything, to speaking on the phone with business partners, and now not financially involved.

It keeps evolving.

Hunter claimed, “I’m here. I’m ready.”

But yeah…he’s not going to show up to the closed-door deposition.

Again, it’s everyone’s fault but his own.

Hunter has not done anything, you guys.

Hunter thinks he is above the rules:

Good morning. I’m here today to answer at a public hearing any legitimate questions Chairman [James] Comer and the House Oversight Committee may have for me.

I’m here today to make sure that the House committee’s illegitimate investigations of my family do not proceed on distortions, manipulated evidence and lies. And I’m here today to acknowledge that I have made mistakes in my life and wasted opportunities and privileges I was afforded. For that I am responsible. For that I am accountable. And for that I am making amends.

But I’m also here today to correct how the MAGA right has portrayed me for their political purposes. I am first and foremost a son, a father, a brother and a husband from a loving and supportive family. I’m proud to have earned degrees from Georgetown University and Yale law school. I’m proud of my legal career and business career. I’m proud of my time serving on a dozen different boards of directors. And I am proud of my efforts to forge global business relationships.

For six years MAGA Republicans, including members of the House committees who are in a closed door session right now, have impugned my character, invaded my privacy, attacked my wife, my children, my family and my friends. They have ridiculed my struggle with addiction, they have belittled my recovery and they have tried to dehumanize me, all to embarrass and damage my father who has devoted his entire public life to service.

For six years I have been the target of the unrelenting Trump attack machine shouting “Where’s hunter?” Well, here is my answer, I am here. Let me state as clearly as I can, my father was not financially involved in my business, not as a practicing lawyer, not as a board member of Burisma, not in my partnership with the Chinese private businessman, not in my investments at home and abroad and certainly not as an artist.

During my battle with addiction my parents were there for me. They literally saved my life. They helped me in ways that I will never be able to repay, and of course, they would never expect me to.

In the depths of my addiction I was extremely irresponsible with my finances, but to suggest that is grounds for an impeachment inquiry is beyond the absurd. It’s shameless. There is no evidence to support the allegations that my father was financially involved in my business because it did not happen.

James Comer, Jim Jordan, Jason Smith and their colleagues have distorted the facts by cherry-picking lines from a bank statement, manipulating texts I sent, editing the testimony of my friends and former business partners, and misstating personal information that was stolen from me.

There is no fairness or decency in what these Republicans are doing. They have lied over and over about every aspect of my personal and professional life, so much so that their lies have become the false facts believed by too many people. No matter how many times it is debunked, they continue to insist that my father’s support of Ukraine against Russia is the result of a nonexistent bribe. They displayed naked photos of me during an Oversight hearing. And they have taken the light of my dad’s love, the light of my dad’s love for me and presented it as darkness.

They have no shame. These same committee chairmen have engaged in unprecedented political interference in what would have already been a five-year investigation of me, yet here I am, Mr. Chairman, taking up your offer when you said we can bring these people in for depositions or committee hearings, whichever they choose.

Well, I’ve chosen. I am here to testify at a public hearing today to answer any of the committee’s legitimate questions. Republicans do not want an open process where Americans can see their tactics, expose their baseless inquiry or hear what I have to say. What are they afraid of? I’m here. I’m ready.

Hunter Biden is just the bag man, they should give him immunity. But they won’t.

You never give an underling immunity until he rolls. Otherwise, you don’t know what you’re immunizing.

That mistake was made (deliberately) by the FBI and the Dems in Congress during the investigations of Hillary’s servers. Both the FBI and the Dems deliberately immunized some of the tech guys PRIOR to their testimony — they then clammed up. By design.

So no, no immunity for Hunter unless/until he spills his guts, AND everything he says checks out.

Yeah, well of course, I didn’t mean immunity for nothing. And, it must be said that you’re absolutely wrong about the Dems and FBI. They didn’t make a mistake. They wanted to prevent any disclosures. In other words, they were engaged in a cover up, not the pursuit of justice.

Playing that out in my mind, I’m not really sure what benefit to Congress that would ultimately produce. Immunizing him doesn’t really get him anything he knows he doesn’t already possess: A get out of jail free card. If Congress immunized him, he likely still wouldn’t cooperate. Unlike a judge who can send the US Marshals to collect an uncooperative witness and jail that witness until they relent and testify (just ask Susan McDougal), Congress can’t. The best they can do is send a criminal referral to the USA of DC..who would sit on it or maybe even shred it.

Ultimately, Hunter’s only real jeopardy in all this is if his dad – who’s a very frail 80-years old – assumes room temperature before he can issue Hunter his pardon. But, that’s a chance he’s going to have to take. Until then, his best strategy would be to keep his mouth shut because he’s the only real threat to his father’s presidency in the short-term.

If the dig deep enough, I bet that Hunter has committed treason.

When does it become contempt of congress?

“Again, it’s everyone’s fault but his own.”

Bedrock principle of all Democrats.

This morning, ABC’s good morning America stated, as a fact, that the Republicans have no evidence.

My father was not financially involved in my business
So very Clintonesque.

insists he will only answer questions under his own rules despite a lawful subpoena
Shouldn’t there be an immediate disbarment or something for that? (As well as an immediate arrest via the sergeant-at-arms?)

MAGA Republicans…have impugned my character
You have to have a goo character to start with, for there to be any ‘impugning’, Skippy.

A Bill Clinton truth there.

He’s telling the truth. His father is not involved in his business.

HE is involved in HIS FATHER’S business.

Joe Biden IS THE BUSINESS, There IS NO BUSINESS without Joe Biden. Hunter is just the bagman.

Yes. Hunter’s statement was carefully worded, with battalions of lawyers reviewing the meaning and vagueness of every single word. But an honest prosecutor knows that the truth is Joe Biden and his influence are the business. Hunter is the salesman.

Are we to assume that unless your name is Steve Bannon or a host of other Republicans who served under the Trump Administration, the refusal to appear to a lawfully ordered subpoena and the blatant contempt of Congress is no longer a crime?

Hunter, why not go to the deposition if you’re genuinely innocent? Why not testify under oath? The Democrats made Donald Trump, Jr. appear twice.

The NY Post’s Miranda Divine will have a field day today, but what difference will it make? We should expect the House Republicans to issue a contempt of Congress complaint to the DOJ; it will be assigned to the US Attorney in the District of Columbia, where it will go to die.

This reprobate is a narcissistic, entitled, mendacious and evil scumbag, like his crime boss father, and, the rest of his avaricious, lazy, and worthless clan.

Hunter Biden is the poster boy for white privilege, for privilege in general and for privilege in particular which he has enjoyed every single day of his life from birth to the present day.

It’s even better than the race card.

Where is the sergeant at arms to drag him into the chamber?

Ghostrider in reply to rabid wombat. | December 13, 2023 at 11:34 am

After arriving on the US Senate side of Capitol Hill, Hunter Biden made a statement to the media and refused to go over to the House side for the deposition, blowing off a congressional subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee.

The House sergeant-at-arms has no jurisdiction on the Senate side where Hunter made his statement. After his remarks, he quickly got in the car he arrived in and left.

Gotta feel sorry for ‘ol Hunter. He must have lots of anxiety. He should probably call one of his many skanks for some “relief,”. Maybe they will give him a discounted rate under these circumstances.

Hunter, no one believes you or the elements of your public statement today.

Hunter Biden, you are welcome to repeat what you said this morning under oath at your deposition today.

This reprobate will never see old age.

Did anyone seriously believe that Hunter Biden was going to testify under any circumstances? If not one excuse it will be another. Ultimately, if forced to appear, he takes the 5th. He will never testify before Congress.

He probably has a few Arkancide victims in his trail. I’m sure there is one person Hunter hung out with that is ready to cash in and spill the beans.

You have to realize that Hunter Biden is one of the aristocrats [by birth not merit] of the Nomenklatura and as such is automatically above such petty concerns as the rule of law or the Constitution. There are no “legal” or administrative procedural means to compel him. And to be honest, if push comes to shove, there is not a real opposition party to keep up the pressure. This is largely maskirova. If things become serious, there are always enough GOPe to change sides on any issue to make it moot.

Show me an issue where the Republican Party Apparat has stood firm against the Left and the Media for what they have promised their party base.

Pass me the crying towel, Hunter. People don’t struggle with addiction. They wallow in it for pleasure’s sake. They
do struggle with working hard and honestly every day, and enduring all the hard knocks stoically like a man.

Go straight to hell, privileged sissy boy, drug addict, whoremonger and thief.

While anyone honest knows that this should see Hunter Biden sent to a federal pound me in the ass prison, that won’t happen because he’s the son of the pedophile in Chief

It is incredibly brazen and stupid to appear a few hundred feet from where you are supposed to testify, give a press conference, and then drive off. You have just shown that you were able to get to the place you were supposed to testify at and that you were able to testify that day. You just didn’t want to.

Given the ongoing prosecutions, he could have simply shown up and taken the fifth to any substantive question. But no . . .

The arrogance and narcissism of this man is truly something to behold.

And what makes it so crazy is that he’s a retard. It’s not as if he is good at anything. Hunter is a leech of the worst sort and a low-IQ pest.

I don’t see how COngress can forgo a contempt charge. You could hardly show more contempt than by intentionally disobeying a subpoena but showing up at Capitol Hill, anyway. They really should have the Sergeant at Arms go and hogtie the piece of sh*t and drag him back to the House’s basement jail that Nanzi Pelousi used to be so fond of talking about …

Joe Biden will likely pardon his son should he be convicted of a Federal offense. If Hunter committed any crime in a Red State, the Attorney General in that Red State should bring state charges and indictments. If Hunter committed a crime in a city or county in a Red State, charges and indictments should be filed there, too.

Depositions are for chumps. Hunter’s one of the Kool Kids and always sits at the important table in the cafeteria.

“They displayed naked photos of me during an Oversight hearing.” So somebody took photos of him when he was naked during a hearing? Ugh!
