Car On Rainbow Bridge Connecting Canada and U.S. Explodes Near Niagara Falls

The explosion injured one person. Thankfully, the injuries are not serious.

Authorities closed the international border crossing points between Canada and Western New York after a car exploded as it crossed into America near Niagara Falls:

The FBI is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing between the U.S. and Canada, the bureau confirmed Wednesday.

International border crossing points between Canada and Western New York are closed after the reported incident, which has injured at least one person, a 27-year-old male who was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, including back pain and minor cuts. His condition is not severe.

Federal authorities said the incident involved a vehicle as it attempted to enter the U.S., according to local reports.

“The FBI Buffalo Field Office is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing between the US and Canada in Niagara Falls,” the FBI said in a statement.

Fox is reporting it was an attempted terrorist attack. I’m waiting for it to become official.

Premature Deflagration.

He’s just an excitable boy.

In other news:

A population of hard-to-eradicate ‘super pigs’ in Canada is threatening to invade the US.

I guess we’ll blame the car manufacturer.

2 people in the car were killed, per FBN.

Good to see our “authorized journalists” are out there throwing news against the wall until all the facts come in.

I’m old enough to remember when eggs were $.99 and terrorist explosions on US soil were a distant memory. 2020 seems like an eternity ago, doesn’t it?

Elections have consequences.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | November 22, 2023 at 3:36 pm

They can’t seem to figure this out on TV.

Obviously, the terrorists were trying to race past the border gates to get onto the bridge and blow the car up in the middle of the bridge, trying to take it out.

I am not 100% sure, but I do not believe there is a checkpoint on the entrance of the bridge going either way. Maybe there is a toll gate, but I don’t remember there being a customs inspection or passport control there. it has been 15 years since I have gone over that bridge but I doubt it has changed since.

US side -> Canada there is a Toll stop with plastic arms, then you are on the bridge till Canadian Customs on the Canadian side.

Canada side -> US, you just drive through onto the bridge, no controls no even a traffic light, and all customs is on the US side, well off the bridge.

I read that they had cleared the customs and were being pulled aside for secondary screening when they detontated.

Or as the media would, car exploded. Dang those cars, all Detroits fault.

Just drove the Canada->US route on Monday, I know it well.

When they find out who the terrorists were, will they be:

1. White supremacist islamaphobists
2. Pro-Israeli Jewish troublemakers
3. Non-aligned disgruntled Amish
4. Pro-Palestinian Jew hating Muslims

Wii Gov. Kathy Hochul try to ban private ownership of automobiles now?

I wonder just how many Jihadi’s are buried within the millions of illegals pouring across our southern border? Brandon is even helping them to get to their targets by providing money, a free cell phone and a plane ticket to the terror sight of their choice. How long till the Freedom Tower in NYC is attacked? Statue of Liberty? A mall, courthouse or high school near you? Remember all those angry Somali’s in MN? Wonder who is bunking with them right now?

Nobody’s terrorized. They should be called soap opera attacks because that’s the chief result. News will be unwatchable for a week.

So this one blew up a little soon. How many more got in?

    “blew up a little soon”
Now that you pointed that out, I changed my mind.
    Clearly Palestinians.

Got into where? Canada as the car was going north, there were no explosives found and the earlier reports of it being a terrorist attack have been walked back.

Go straight to hell, do not pass go, do not collect ebt card.

This incident is now just “reckless driving.” The car tried to cross over to the Canadian side, encountered some sort of obstacle, backtracked, went through a fence, started driving on the wrong side of the road and then accelerated to a tremendous speed, hit a concrete barrier and (did not) explode. This is almost too much recklessness to believe.

“The car tried to cross over to the Canadian side”
“Federal authorities said the incident involved a vehicle as it attempted to enter the U.S.”

Jeepers Christmas, the gorram incompetent MSM can’t even agree which way he was crossing!

Open borders biden says they were just refugees looking for the american dream?

So I guess I’m really impressed by what we do not know. At first, the car was “loaded with explosives,” a figurative “ton” of explosives.

It was crossing from Canada, or from the US going into Canada. Both claims were made with great authority.

I watched the video of the explosion, and was confused: A guard house in close proximity to the explosion was not obliterated. There was a great fireball, but no crater. Other than the 2 car occupants who were killed, only one person was injured, the injuries minor.

How could this be?

Hmmmm thinks I: “Where have I seen this before?” I knew I had seen it but could not place it, so missed the significance.

Then, after a couple of hours of pondering, I recalled the “Israeli rocket that hit the al Shifa hospital in Gaza. Turns out the explosion was not a warhead but the IJ-launched rocket’s fuel exploding. after it had malfunctioned. There was no structureal damage beyond a few cars nearby and some broken windows (alas, there were around 50 casualties, not the hundreds originally reported). The crater looked to be about 3 feet across and a foot or two deep,.

So the latest report is that the explosion was from the cars fuel exploding, not some HE. That was consistent with the damage caused by IJ rocket malfunction and for the time being what I think probably happened.

But I’m wide open to the possibility that I’m wrong. . . .

New reports are that the car was stolen,, and they were fleeing..
They hit something and soared off into the air.. Literally..

The terrorist theories are being walked back..

Fox has a great video up showing the car doing a Dukes of Hazards off a dirt pile, going airborne then it exploded when it hit the ground. The “terrorist attack” nonsense has been dismissed and the since it isn’t the story has all but disappeared.

From now on considering the unreliability in sensational news stories and our elected officials evidenced by this and the kid beat to death in Las Vegas I’m employing the Bongino rule. Wait 24-48hrs before figuring out the real story.

Without providing any facts, Gov. Kathy Hochul has already said publicly that there is no evidence of “terrorism.” What that means, roughly translated, is that they are not able to spin this as a white supremacist event. Since the identity of the persons behind this is not being disclosed, I’m guessing that it is someone favored by the woke elite. Let’s see.

Here is an angle from the CBP, looks right out of a Dukes of Hazzard movie

Well, now it’s Emily Litella time. All that speculation turns out to have been worthless. The lesson is don’t jump to conclusions, and remember that initial reports are always wrong. There were no explosives, no terrorists, just an ordinary crazy driver crashing his car and killing himself and his passenger. Which doesn’t in any way reduce the risk of terrorist attacks. The next story may still be one.

An explosion is not an “incident”.

No word on whether the car was playing the Dukes of Hazards theme song when it tried to jump the border.
