Trump’s Eldest Children To Testify This Week In NYC Fraud Case

Trump’s Eldest Children To Testify This Week In NYC Fraud Case

Trump himself is scheduled to take the stand on Monday, November 6th

It’s hard to keep track of all the lawsuits against former President Trump; a fact that is an unacceptable scandal in its own right. The political persecution of Donald Trump is a national embarrassment and travesty.

One of the cases, this one in New York, deals with fraud allegations that the Democrat hactivist media breathlessly refers to as the “$250 million fraud case.”

Dates have reportedly been set for Trump’s three eldest children: Donald Trump, Jr. (Wednesday, Nov. 1), Eric Trump (Thursday, Nov. 2), and Ivanka Trump (Friday, Nov. 3).

NBC News reports:

The New York attorney general’s office on Friday revealed in court the dates it expects Donald Trump and his oldest children to testify in the $250 million civil trial against the former president and his company.

Kevin Wallace of Attorney General Letitia James’ office told Judge Arthur Engoron and Trump’s lawyers they plan on calling Donald Trump Jr. to the stand on Wednesday, Eric Trump on Thursday, and Ivanka Trump on Friday. Her testimony will be followed by the former president, who Wallace said is expected to be their final witness.

Both of Trump’s sons are executives at their father’s company, and Ivanka Trump is a former executive and White House adviser.

Ivanka Trump had challenged the AG’s subpoena for her to testify in the case, but Engoron ruled Friday she should take the stand. He gave her time to appeal the ruling.

. . . . The AG is suing Trump for allegedly inflating his assets in financial statements to secure more cost-effective loans and insurance policies. The judge has already found that Trump and company officials engaged in “persistent fraud.”

Trump has denied any wrongdoing in the case, which he has called a “witch hunt.”

He’s not wrong, and he had a lot more than that to say:

Here’s the text:

This grossly incompetent “Judge,” who is overturned on Appeal more than almost any Judge in New York State, is a partisan political hack who totally disregards the Court of Appeals decisions against him, and won’t allow a Jury to get anywhere near my “CASE” (brought by a Failed, Trump Hating, Racist Attorney General named Letitia James, whose entire campaign for office was “I WILL GET TRUMP.” She then used this charade to run for Governor, and lost, BADLY!). The New York State legal system has broken down completely, and everybody who is watching this Witch Hunt so agrees. Hopefully, that will soon change. This CRAZED Judge ruled against me before the Trial even started, and said Mar-a-Lago is worth only $18,000,000. Other properties, likewise. This is a Biden Election Interference Scam! There were No Crimes & No Victims, and there is NO JURY ALLOWED. This Radical Trump Hater Must Be Taken Off This Case!

“This Radical Trump Hater Must Be Taken Off This Case!”

He should be removed completely, and then prosecuted.

He can’t be prosecuted. He has absolute immunity for anything he does in his official capacity as a judge. Even if he were to be bribed to make a wrong decision, he could be prosecuted for accepting the bribe but not for the decision.

The same is true of congressmen. They can be prosecuted for soliciting bribes, but not for voting as they’ve been paid to do.

Although it doesn’t apply in this case, the same is supposed to be true of Presidential immunity.

And apparently Presidents as well, once upon a time before Democrats decided to change the system 🙄

Presidential immunity is still intact, for official acts committed in the president’s capacity as president. It doesn’t cover other acts committed while he happened to be president, just as congressional and judicial immunity don’t cover acts that are not taken in their official capacities (such as soliciting bribes).

and just who gets to decide what is an offficial presidential act?

          “Presidential immunity is still intact”

Well, sure. Biden has 15 layers of it.

To be more specific, Presidents/judges are covered by the impeachment process. If they conduct themselves in an illegal manner, the Legislature can impeach them and forcibly remove them from office. Only then do they face criminal charges from the DOJ, if any. If they are impeached but *not* removed from office, they are still immune. (unless they’re Republicans, of course)

Like taking his presidential records when he was President or does that kind of presidential immunity only apply to Democrat Presidents? Asking for a friend 🙄

“Presidential immunity is still intact, for official acts committed in the president’s capacity as president. ”

Acts like working to insure the integrity of the election.

But you go ahead and keep talking about things you clearly know nothing about.

I have to wonder; does Trump relish the attention?

Note, I hate that this is happening, while at the same time, I’m grateful for the eye-opening these last 7 years has foisted on me.

Interesting. When you overvalue a property, the insurance premiums are going to be quoted higher. So how does that translate into a “more cost effective” policy?

MarkS in reply to George S. | October 30, 2023 at 9:20 am

because insurance most likely covers the cost of the physical building whereas market value also incorporates earning potential

SDN in reply to MarkS. | October 30, 2023 at 10:37 am

Your homeowner’s policy requires you to pay premiums based on at least 80% of what the current replacement cost of your house and contents are. You have to have special riders for things like firearms, or jewelry, or extra things like a home generator/ solar. I imagine the same applies to commercial, but I don’t know.

mailman in reply to MarkS. | October 30, 2023 at 1:38 pm

This doesn’t make sense since Trump is saying his buildings and property are worth more than the Judge says they are, hence insurances will be higher because of the risk of loss to the insurer if something happens to that building or property?!??

thalesofmiletus in reply to George S. | October 30, 2023 at 9:24 am

Securing a cost-effective loan seems like something Congress can and should impeach Trump for a third time.

Again, a moot point because the insurance companies conduct an independent evaluation of the property before any policy is issued. This case is a crock.

thalesofmiletus | October 30, 2023 at 9:26 am

Again, can someone tell us what the damages are in this civil suit and who incurred them? Please explain it like I’m Kamala Harris.
