Rep. Bowman Flabbergasted as to Why Him Pulling a Fire Alarm is a Big Deal

Rep. Bowman Flabbergasted as to Why Him Pulling a Fire Alarm is a Big Deal

“I was literally just in a rush to go vote, man!”

Rep. Jamaal Bowman cannot believe him pulling a fire alarm right before the House voted for the stopgap bill is such a big deal.

Dude. Just stop talking.

A reporter asked Bowman about the incident:

“I don’t know why this has gotten so much attention. I was literally just in a rush to go vote, man! That’s all it was!”

The reporter asked about repercussions.

“I mean, listen, I’ll take responsibility for what I did, you know, but like I said, I was in a rush to go vote, and, you know, an investigation will sort everything out.”

The reporter then asked if he talked to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries:

“Oh yeah that’s day one [of the investigation.] I gotta keep that between me and the leader so I’m not going to share that publicly. But yeah we’ve been in touch with each other.”

It doesn’t matter how absurd and childish the lie is.

He knows that as long as he sticks to the lie, the Democrats will use that as an excuse to prevent him from getting punished.

That’s the playbook. Any lie or jibberish stuck to will do. It’s over.

Gosport in reply to Olinser. | October 2, 2023 at 5:17 pm

It’s the only card he’s got. Weak as it is you really can’t really blame him for playing it out if his fellow cheaters are determined to let him win.

his

DC police will not arrest democrats

Democrat politicians will not demand he be arrested or charge

They will say nobody is above the law while a man who was caught on camera breaking the law suffers no consequences

We are a two tiered society.

“”They will say nobody is above the law while a man who was caught on camera breaking the law suffers no consequences””

Yeah, like that isn’t happening in half of the “stop-and-robs” in the country, not to mention every store in California.

Too stupid and immature to be allowed out of the house (or the House) without close adult supervision.

You’d think they’d be ashamed to act that stupid, playing to the racist stereotype that blacks are too dumb.

    But Ds know no shame.

“Rep. Bowman Flabbergasted as to Why Him Pulling a Fire Alarm is a Big Deal”
The man is a former High school principal. Saying he knows nothing about why pulling a false alarm is a big deal is outright admitting his professional incompetence.

Martin in reply to Rusty Bill. | October 2, 2023 at 9:34 pm

There are very few adults in the Congress and none of them are Democrats.

Bowman is a documented RACIST who blames all his problems in life on white people.

WOKE TRASH.

You can’t shout “Fire!” in a crowded theater. But there’s an unwritten exception if you’re a Democrat Congressman rushing to a budget vote.

Bruh, you pulled a fire alarm. It delayed a vote. Your actions directly prevented the ability of Congress to function. It doesn’t matter why you did it just as it didn’t matter to those J6 folks walking into the building. It doesn’t matter that a vote was taken later in day just as it didn’t matter that Congress finished it’s work on J6.

You were a HS principal. You were trained all about fire alarms. You knew damn well what would happen. Let’s, for the moment, accept your excuses as potentially valid, unfortunately you didn’t include your resignation as being to flipping stupid or too flipping ignorant to serve in Congress so no dice. Eff you. If McCarthy doesn’t move to have you arrested and expelled from Congress we will know more about Trump’s selection for Speaker. If the DoJ refuses to prosecute or offers you any more lenient terms for a plea than the J6 folks well …we won’t find out so much as have our suspicions confirmed that 2 tier system of Justice is now in place.

Come on, Man! This is nowhere near as bad as the organized gangs of “shoplifters” that we do nothing about.

      Paul in reply to jb4. | October 2, 2023 at 6:39 pm

Why wouldn’t they? They saw a fucking presidential election stolen before our very eyes with no repercussions.

Milhouse in reply to CommoChief. | October 3, 2023 at 1:53 am

Did it delay the vote? He claims it didn’t, but of course his word means nothing. Does anyone know the truth about this?

CommoChief in reply to Milhouse. | October 3, 2023 at 8:09 am

They evacuated which halted the process and then had to round everyone back up to get a quorum to continue, at least according to some of the reporting.

He thinks he can save face he can’t, the bigger picture is the left still won’t condemn him. We have about 430 hammers in the House, only a handful should be there.

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt | October 2, 2023 at 2:16 pm

How stupid is this guy?

More important. How stupid does he think we are.

Bowman, you interfered with the functioning of Congress. You are no better than what your party claims was the interference on January 6.

But, in the most hypocritical fashion you can did up from the Democrats dogs shit pile, you claim it is no difference.

A sociopathic socialist cretin.

Lucifer Morningstar | October 2, 2023 at 2:38 pm

Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt. ~~Mark Twain

Bowman might want to take Mr. Twain’s advice and remain silent on this issue from now on.

caseoftheblues | October 2, 2023 at 2:53 pm

So if the DOJ / FBI and Capital police do NOT in any way charge or put in jail this guy for actually doing EXACTLY what they charged many if not most of the J6 for…. Do the J6 then have a case legally? I mean this guy “literally put our Democracy at risk”… or some such rot

He worked there for 2 years and before that at a school with fire alarms. He knows what they are and what they do. The lie is so bald-faced it is sad to know he will get away with it.

By accident…sure. Dude was a school principal before Congress. He knew exactly what he was doing. Why he is surprised is his melanin shield, no one has had the nerve to call him on anything before.

You think they’re gonna do anything to THIS black guy?

Why, a few years ago another black guy just shot and killed a women right out in front of everybody and they gave him a raise.

So he’s either a liar, a moron, or both.

Everyday a Republican should pull the fire alarm. Call their bluff.

Wondering what the talk was in the smoke-filled room where Dems hatched this plan …

“We need you to play the part of the low IQ black man – who doesn’t know that a RED fire alarm will sound a fire alarm, prompt an evacuation and summon the fire department … we’ll need you to play dumb and/or ignorant – express disbelief to anyone who suggests you did anything wrong – when all else fails, play the race card – and remember – we got your back”

It is so obvious why he did this. He was late to a very important vote and knew he would not make it on time so he pulled the alarm knowing that the vote would stop. As with most of the members of the House, it is all about them and not the people. Look at what Pelosi got away with on insider trading and this pales in perspective. In a fair world, he would be expelled but he has the “Race” card and plans to use it.

Insider trading is not illegal for members of congress.

Gosport in reply to Martin. | October 2, 2023 at 10:35 pm

Congress passed the STOCK Act in 2012 banning insider trading by members of Congress and other government employees. It was signed into law by Obama.

In 2013 Harry Reid pushed for and got an amendment passed which modified the disclosure portion basically making their disclosures electronic only (no paper trail) and unsearchable by the public. It was passed in the Senate by unanimous consent after exactly 14 seconds of debate.

So, yeah it’s illegal, but who’s going to know?

Bowman’s office has released “Messaging Guidance” to his fellow Democrats giving suggested talking points to support his position:

– “Itʼs clear my colleague Congressman Bowman was simply rushing to the floor to cast his vote to prevent a shutdown and support working class families.”

– “House Republicans are obviously trying to distract from the fact they cannot govern and that they nearly shut down the federal government for no reason.”

– “I believe Congressman Bowman when he says this was an accident. Republicans need to instead focus their energy on the Nazi members of their party before anything else.”

– “There are multiple insurrectionist supporters in Congress and more who supported a coup and support Trumpʼs Big Lie. Thatʼs what they should be focused on. Instead their focus on Rep. Bowman is an attempt to minimize January 6th.”

henrybowman in reply to Gosport. | October 2, 2023 at 6:23 pm

Wow, you gotta read this. What a raft of bullshit.
“due to confusing signage and an honest mistake, he pulled the alarm in an attempt to open the door.”
Because fire alarms aren’t red with a big “FIRE ALARM” on them.

The only time in my life I have ever pulled a fire alarm was in a federal building — the Pentagon, in fact. It was the night of the cafeteria fire. On my way to leave for home (very late) through the Mall Entrance, I exited the stairwell on the second floor and was nearly overcome by thin but acrid smoke. I saw a nearby fire alarm and pulled it, hearing it begin to emit ticking signals. I raced back to the stairway and went up one level to see if the smoke was better or worse (the stairwell itself was still clear). It was much better, so I hurried along that corridor and used a stairwell near the Mall Entrance to get back down and out the door.

After I got home and was watching the fire on the news, it suddenly dawned on me that my pulling of the alarm resulted in no audible alarm whatsoever… and that my military co-workers were still working 24h shifts in the basement. I called down to their control tower and asked them if they were aware there was a fire raging literally above their heads. They said they were aware, not because anybody had called to tell them, but because water had started coming in through the ceiling onto every piece of computing equipment they operated (the room was the size of three football fields).

Sounds to me like Congress gets the best gear — the stuff that makes noise to let you know, hey, there’s a fire!

CapeBuffalo in reply to Gosport. | October 2, 2023 at 7:13 pm

Is this for real? My snarf meter is broken.

Gosport in reply to CapeBuffalo. | October 2, 2023 at 7:25 pm

The link is to the message on “Congressman Jamaal Bowman” letterhead. It’s as real as it gets.

Oh, since then he has tried to dial it back saying:

“I just became aware that in our messaging guidance, there was inappropriate use of the term Nazi without my consent.”

His letterhead, his staff, but without his consent? How does that work?

not having to follow the rules is a form of reparations

so it is allowed

Humm, I seem to remember that “Ignorance” and “Accident” weren’t defenses for breaking the law. Though they can be mitigators in sentencing.

Yes, this is a lie. Firstly, if he was “Rushing to Vote”, why was he going out of a door that would be the slowest way to actually get to the House Chamber? He was going the wrong way to get to the underground rail system which is easily the fastest way to get to the House Chamber.

Secondly, he was a school principal who was responsible for knowing about Fire Alarms and would even carry a set of keys to reset such alarms.

Lastly, he is looking directly at the fire alarm when he pulls it. He knows it wasn’t a door opener.

    Milhouse in reply to Gremlin1974. | October 3, 2023 at 1:52 am

The tunnel from the Cannon Office Building to the Capitol does not have a railway.

Still, it’s the logical way for him to have taken.

He claims the emergency door he tried to open is the door he normally uses, and it’s usually open. That’s an obvious lie.
