Kibbutz Nir Oz: Hamas Murdered A Grandmother, Then Posted The Murder On Her Facebook Page

We have been trying to document the crimes against humanity committed by Hamas and Islamic Jihad that, at latest count, killed over 1200 people in Israel. What is more striking than even the death toll is the sheer barbarity of these medieval Islamic-supremacist killers – taunting, torturing, humiliating in ways unimaginable to normal humans.

Many of the worst atrocities we at Kibbutzim (the plural for Kibbutz), communities typically involving agriculture and socialist-style collective ownership (though some have scaled that back and introducted private ownership and industry). Kibbutzim tend to be secular and left-leaning, but have very high rates of IDF service particlarly in elite combat units. It’s an Israeli military cultural thing that is the opposite of the U.S.

Because agriculture is central to many Kibbutzim, they tend to be in more rural areas, which made the sparsely populated south of Israel near the Gaza border an unsurprising geographic location. It’s why so many of the mass casualties we’ve been documenting were from border region Kibbutzim, such as Be’eri and Kfar Aza.

Kibbutz Nir Oz, also near Gaza, was another terrorist target.

Kibbutz Nir Oz suffered the similar wholesale slaughter as so many other places in Israel.

Tormenting and humiliating took on a special case at Kibbutz Nir Oz. Hamas killed a grandmother, then posted the killing on her Facebook page, which is how her daughter and granddaughter found out:

At 7 a.m. on Saturday, Mor Bayder saw a horrifying photo on her grandmother’s Facebook page.

A Hamas terrorist had broken into her grandmother’s house in kibbutz Nir Oz, murdered her, and then took a picture on her phone and uploaded it to her Facebook page.

“This is how we found out,” Bayder wrote. “My grandmother. My whole world. The light of my life.”

“Yet another example of Palestinian barbarity and cruelty,” wrote Michael Freund, chairman of Shavei Israel.

The granddaughter posted on Facebook:

My grandmother my whole world the light of my lifeThe pillar of my life, in my family’s lifeMy grandmother, a resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz all her life, was murdered yesterday in a brutal murder by a terrorist in her homeSeven in the morning, I saw the nightmare of my life.A terrorist came home to her, killed her, took her phone, filmed the horror and published it on her Facebook wall. This is how we found out.The purest thing in the world, the light of my life, my whole world, my grandmother, can’t make it real. This morning I didn’t get “My dear teacher, did you get up?” “Like every morning when you were persistent not a minute after seven. And it’s not comprehended my heart is shattered to piecesThose who know me know what she is to me, what a connection we had, what a person she is, pure and good, I love her kibbutz, her garden that she familyed and the sun set in it. Flower of mine.Every morning he cycled to the commune to wash and fold all the clothes of the kibbutz members, he returned in the afternoon to take care of the garden that he loved more than anything. My grandmother loved life but how do we go on without you? Who am I without you? I’m not willing to talk about you in the past, it’s a nightmare of my life. Not ready to speed any moreI love you and you know it, in every room of my heart, in every particle of my body, in every fiber of my organ. My grandmother my flower the light of my life my whole world

The horror did not end there for the Kibbutz, a 12-year-old boy and many others were kidnapped to Gaza.

The tormenting and taunting is likely going to get much, much worse.

Urgent Advisory from the Israeli Government:Within the next few hours, Hamas terrorists are expected to disseminate photos and videos of hostages and acts of torture across social media platforms. The Government of Israel urgently requests the following actions be taken.1. Do not engage in sharing these images or videos under any circumstances. Doing so contributes to psychological warfare against both the State of Israel and its citizens.2. Shield minors from exposure to this disturbing content. The images and videos are highly graphic and could induce significant emotional distress.Your cooperation in adhering to these directives is critically important.

UPDATE:

Sending murder videos to family members using the victim’s phone apparently is a common Hamas tactic.
