Wray: No Evidence for Garland to Target Protesting Parents, But FBI Made Threat Tag to Identify Them
“I think the FBI conducted itself the way it should here, which we’ve considered and continue to follow long-standing rules that have not changed anything in response to that memo.”
In 2021, parents protested Critical Race Theory at school board meetings. The National Association of School Boards cried to the DOJ to protect them from these “domestic terrorists.” Attorney General Merrick Garland directed the FBI to target those parents.
We even learned that Secretary Cardona requested the letter from the NSBA
The House Judiciary Committee concluded the DOJ had no evidence to issue the directive.
On Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray admitted no evidence existed for Garland to issue the memo but wouldn’t apologize for the FBI’s role:
“This committee’s investigation concluded that the Justice Department’s own documents demonstrated it was no compelling justification for the attorney general’s directive. Do you have any reason to dispute that conclusion?” Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) asked on Wednesday.
“No,” Wray said.
The California congressman continued to press the FBI director about having “no evidence” for targeting parents.
“So we had an investigation of parents, we had a sweeping mobilization of federal power against the most protected core First Amendment activity, the right of citizens to speak and petition their government on the most important issues, the education of their children. And you are telling me that the entire basis for that, there was no evidence to support it?”
“Well, I want to be clear, we, the FBI, as I said, we’re not and did not investigate people for exercising their First Amendment rights,” Wray responded.
“Should Attorney General Garland rescind that memo? Should they?” Kiley asked.
“That’s a question for the attorney general,” Wray shot back.
“Do you believe that the attorney general should apologize to parents for the subject of that memo?” Kiley asked Wray.
“I’m not going to speak to that,” the FBI director said.
Kiley added, “Will you apologize for the FBI’s own role?”
“I think the FBI conducted itself the way it should here, which we’ve considered and continue to follow long-standing rules that have not changed anything in response to that memo,” Wray said.

Wray told Rep. Laurel Lee (R-FL) the FBI identified those parents with a threat tag:
“Is it correct that in 2021 the FBI created a threat tag specifically designed to identify parents attending school board meetings?” Lee asked at the hearing.
“Uh, yes, but I think it’s important for people to understand what a threat tag is and is not. It is not what we base investigations on. It is not an investigative tool. It’s an administrative function in our system, ” he said. “It doesn’t change anything in how we investigate.”

Mr. and Mrs. Jones,
Please hold still while we pin these threat tags on you. Don’t worry yourselves, it’s just a silly administrative detail. Think of it as a 21st century, digital update of Heydrich’s yellow Star of David.
I wish someone in a hearing would express it that way to Garland’s face and watch the reaction I believe Garland is Jewish.
The uni-party likes Garland, just like the Nazis liked the SS.
They will investigate those who oppose them until they can find something to charge them with. They don’t necessarily need a conviction as the process is part of the punishment.
“Pre-Crime” Once again, real life supersedes sci-fi. Or just good old NKVD practices.
This could not be happening without the tacit support of the GOPe.
Heh, somebody pinned with a “threat tag” has already been found guilty…hence, no investigation.
There is also no evidence of drugs found in the White House. The Secret Service has closed it’s investigation: “Nothing to see here. Move along.”
Hunter breathes a sigh of relief: “It’s amazing what you can get away with when the Big Guy is your Dad.”
The Coup cannot be hindered. Even if by No. 2 Son…or Brandon.
I think the blow was for Joe. I’m serious: what else can they use to get energetic?
Interesting FBI whistleblowers say Wray is lying.
My dog says Wray is lying. People in a coma can see Wray is lying.
But lalf of American humans who are not in comas “don’t”.
The Cult of Willful Stupidity will be the end of the US as 50 states.
The constant refrain from Hannity and others that ‘it’s a small number of bad apples’ is getting tiresome. The leadership of these agencies, the political appointees from parties, have for decades put expanding the power/reach and remit of the agencies above core missions, while doing their best to shield the agencies from oversight much less consequences.
“ The constant refrain from Hannity and others that ‘it’s a small number of bad apples’ is getting tiresome. ”
Hannity is tiresome…!
Well, as long is it’s only a small number, I guess it’s okay.
Yes, he is “tirresome”, despite his advocacy. He starts, then always stops at a certain point and throws his hands up.
Rush Limbaugh went ‘all the way’. So does Alex Jones.
“It’s a small number of bad apples” Perhaps, but even one is enough to taint the whole group. Or to put it another way:
“A fish rots from the head down.” Wray is the head.
“Cops is like a box of mushrooms.
The number in the box that weren’t poisonous don’t mean a damn thing.”
“Well, I want to be clear, we, the FBI, as I said, we’re not and did not investigate people for exercising their First Amendment rights,” Wray responded.
Wray is 100% correct, they were not investigating an exercise of a constitutional right to petition government. Instead, Wray used the Soviet two-step of calling the exercising of that right an act of domestic terror, thereby threatening the right of all other citizens (namely, the School Boards in this case).
See, you can exercise your rights all you want but you can’t engage in what Garland and Wray deem to be domestic terrorism, as determined by their friends in government.
What evil people are infested in our government. And what evil people enable them. (Can you say” GOPe”?)
That’s the silent part you’re not supposed to say out loud.
Not saying it ALL THE TIME is leading to the destruction of our nation. The swamp GOP hacks are in on the scam.
And where was the follow up question? So, you admit that you’re investigating/surveilling parents who attended school boards but for some other concocted reason? Somebody has to use the right process to force some answers out of this clown.
That’s key and you nailed it. The “no follow up” is a feature of the episodic congressional stage drama.
Monster of the Week TV.
Other than a handful of people, the GOP House is WORSE than useless: they’re in on the scam.
That’s exactly right. A constitutionally protected behavior is reinterpreted as domestic terrorism. Thank you Homeland Security Act of 2002.
These hearings would be highly effective if individual members would cede their question time to a single designated republican acting as sole prosecutor. I know it has been used before, and to great effect. But they all want face time.
More drama for us plebs. It keeps us busy during the dog days of summer. Then it all stops and congress takes a late summer break. And then the reset. POOF. What were we talking about? No matter.
What could be more important than Face Time. Justice? Pfui!
He vas only following orders.
Pay back all the money wasted on this venture with personal apologies to each individual affected.
So disgusted!
So why were parents protesting a flawed and divisive theory being taught in their schools considered terrorists but ANTIFA–that actually burned down buildings, broke windows, shot at people, and literally terrorized people for political reasons–was not?
