Fake Homophobic Attack Victim Allegedly Assaulted Pregnant Woman

The San Diego Police Department found out Scott Rowin allegedly lied about being a victim of a hate crime.
Instead, they allegedly found him beating a pregnant woman until she was bloody and bruised.
The video appears to show the woman setting him on fire to defend herself. Andy Ngo posted the details on Twitter.

It’s Jussie Smollett all over again. Here’s the original report from 10News:
“Started hearing f*** this, f*** that. The word came up quite a bit,” said Rowin.
With no one around him, Rowin, who is gay, realized the slurs were being directed at him.
“I yelled back a couple of things, ‘Hey, that’s f*** up!’” said Rowin.
Moments later, he heard footsteps behind him.
As he turned around, he says he caught a quick glimpse of one of the people, a man in his 20s or 30s. At the same time, he says a liquid was thrown at him, with the consistency of water.
“Immediately after that, I went up like coals on a barbecue. It started off really big,” said Rowin.
On fire, Rowin says stopped, dropped, and rolled on the cement, patting himself and quickly putting out the flames.
The real story? Well, cops answered a call about a man attacking a pregnant woman around 10:40 PM PT on June 12.
The beating caused bleeding and injuries. The police had to transport her to the hospital.
About 90 minutes later, the police got a phone call about a man claiming someone had set him on fire. That man is Scott Rowin. The video recovered by the police shows another story:
“Investigators determined that this man was the suspect who battered the pregnant woman from the earlier incident at 900 6th Avenue,” police said. “Investigators have since determined the pregnant female was responsible for the burn injuries.”
Detectives have since located security footage San Diego Police say shows the “initial physical assault by the man on the pregnant woman and the subsequent use of fire as a weapon by the pregnant woman on the man.”
Rowin is the latest reason why people take hate crime reports with a grain of salt. It seems the hate crimes that don’t get attention are the real ones. We don’t know which ones to report on.
I’d like to know how the pregnant woman set him on fire. She had to protect herself and her baby!

Annnnd, they aren’t releasing the video footage that turns this into another hoax. Because they’re going to use it to prosecute the dude. Admit I’m torn over that one.
This happened in California. So, the pregnant woman, er, . . . pregnant “person”, will be prosecuted and sentenced. Her child (though unborn but clearly an accessory) will be sentenced to the same term, to be served concomitantly with the mother. Gov Newsom will declare a statewide holiday for the gay guy, and then support him to run for Feinstein’s seat.

How exactly do you just ‘set someone on fire’ in the middle of a physical assault? Pregnant lady carries a flamethrower around? This whole story sounds very suspicious all the way around.
On the other hand, she when to the hospital bruised and bloodied, and he has the burns. & homo story. Flame thrower is most any aerosol can, hair spray, bug spray, brake cleaners, a very long list. It is a shame there is no video.
Yeah, you hold a can of any of those things, and stick a lighter in front of it. People have done it. This being America, people do all kinds of crazy things. They even pay a couple hundred grand to get crushed while taking an uncertified submersible to see the Titanic. The woman did that while being beaten up, hoping that the can doesn’t explode in her hand? Kill me now, but I’d like to know more about the mechanics of how this happened.

With great risk. Hold a spray can of something volatile. Flick a lighter in front of the spray while you’re being beaten up, and hope the can doesn’t explode. Not exactly the best self defense strategy.

See, I am always refilling my industrial strength cigar lighters with butane. Those cans would make terrible defensive weapons given how they work. I’d like to know more details on how it played out.

Lighter fluid (not butane, given how the cans work — you have to insert the little tube into the bottom of a lighter and press down to make the butane flow) in her purse? Hey, it’s a big country and people do all kinds of crazy shit, so you never know.
