Nonbinary Child of Massachusetts Rep. Katherine Clark Gets Probation for Assaulting a Cop

Back in January, the child of Democrat Minority Whip Rep. Katherine Clark of Massachusetts was arrested for assaulting a police officer during an anti-cop protest in Boston.

Riley Dowell, who was born male but now identifies as female, pleaded not guilty at the time and has now been sentenced… to probation, naturally. Good thing Riley wasn’t caught parading at the Capitol.

The New York Post reports:

Rep. Katherine Clark’s transgender daughter Riley Dowell sentenced for assault on Boston copThe daughter of House Minority Whip Katherine Clark – the second highest ranking Democrat in the lower chamber – was sentenced to one year of probation Wednesday for her role in a violent protest in Boston earlier this year.Riley Dowell, 23, was arrested by police in January after allegedly spray-painting a monument in the historic Boston Common with anti-police slogans “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB” — an acronym for “all cops are bastards.”During her arrest, Dowell allegedly struck a police officer in the face, leading to an assault and battery on a police officer charge, on top of charges of vandalizing property, tagging property, vandalizing a historic marker/monument, and resisting arrest. The Democratic whip’s daughter struck a deal with prosecutors that will result in the dismissal of her case after writing a letter of apology to Officer Daniel Roca, who suffered a bloody nose during the Jan. 21 incident, completing 30 hours of community service within a year and re-paying the city for the cost of removing her graffiti, the Boston Globe reported on Wednesday.

Pretty much all of the outlets reporting on this are falling all over themselves to describe Riley as Clark’s “daughter.”

More from the Washington Free Beacon:

Riley Dowell, 23, who identifies as “non-binary,” graffitied a Boston monument with anti-police slogans on Jan. 21 and gave police officer Daniel Roca a bloody nose when he responded to the crime. Dowell must also complete 30 hours of community service and repay the city for cleaning the graffiti, which included phrases such as “No Cop City” and “ACAB.”Clark, who is the Democrats’ House minority whip, said in a tweet following the incident that “this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting.”The officer “was hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth,” according to a police report. Dowell was released on Jan. 24 after paying a $500 bail.Clark removed a post from her site in the days following her child’s arrest that advocated defunding the police. Clark restored the post after a report by the Washington Free Beacon.

I’ll leave you with this clip from Family Guy, which seems fitting at the moment.
