William & Mary Student Claims She Has Received Death Threats for Saying Men Cannot Have Babies

“tribe for life makes me want to commit suicide and also mass murder”

The radical left is increasingly unhinged on this issue. They simply refuse to accept reality.

The College Fix reports:

I told my peers men cannot have babies. They’ve threatened to kill me because of it.

On Tuesday, my peers and I at William & Mary university hosted a table on behalf of our Tribe for Life campus club that took on what we consider some of the lies that pro-choicers tell.

We set up a big sign, handed out brochures, and had conversations with students about those lies, which we argue are that: men can have babies, Planned Parenthood cares about women, chemical abortions are safe, and women need abortions to succeed.

The three hours we spent on campus that afternoon were mostly uneventful, and perhaps that’s because we had security officers present due to the fact that in the past we’ve faced death threats, we’ve had urine thrown at us, we’ve been doxxed, and so on.

But the real drama unfolded Wednesday night, after a satirical student publication made fun of our group for enlisting security guards, generating a wave of mocking comments under the article that then led to threats on the anonymous social media app Yik Yak.

Some of them I expected, such as the ironic “Skylar is a threat to humanity” post. But the one that sounded alarm bells was: “tribe for life makes me want to commit suicide and also mass murder.”

The threat of violence was enough for me to alert the local authorities, and I have been working with campus leaders as well to ensure the safety of not only fellow students and the community but even for this troubled individual.

Heightening the situation is the fact that our nation is still grieving the murder of six innocent people at a Christian school in Tennessee on Monday at the hands of an individual who clearly suffered from mental health issues relating to transgender ideology.

What’s more, there’s a “Trans Day of Vengeance” rally scheduled for Saturday in Washington D.C. and some of the Yik Yak messages over the last week have flagged the event with glee.

I wish I could say I am surprised and shocked by such reactions, but I’m not.

My nonsense detector is tingling.

If this true it just goes to show that pre-college education has been so dumbed down that when the graduates reach college, they have no idea where babies come from. I thought sex-ed was tought in the pre-college years. Some were obviously not paying attention.

The threat of violence was enough for me to alert the local authorities, and I have been working with campus leaders as well to ensure the safety of not only fellow students and the community but even for this troubled individual.

What can the local authorities do about it? Even if they knew who posted it, it’s not a threat, and therefore it’s protected speech and they couldn’t take any action against the poster

    Not true at all.
    They could red-flag her.
100% within the guidelines. “Danger to self or others.”

They would need to convince a judge that there is “clear and convincing evidence” that s/he poses a substantial risk. And even then, the only consequence would be that s/he wouldn’t be allowed to own firearms; s/he probably already doesn’t, so s/he wouldn’t be affected by such an order.

The laws are all over the place and making general statements about what they do or don’t require is heedless.

Indiana’s law allows police to seize firearms without first obtaining any judicial order.

Wisconsin’s law says guns should be seized if the judge finds “reasonable grounds that the respondent is substantially likely” to harm themselves or others,” a very weak burden. (“I’m going to kill myself” easily meets it.)

New York’s law was just overturned this week, because it required no mental health professional to make a required mental health ruling.

Virginia’s, in particular, requires only “probable cause to believe that a person poses a substantial risk of personal injury to himself or others in the near future by such person’s possession or acquisition of a firearm.” “Probable cause to believe” is quite a far cry from “clear and convincing evidence.”

As always, though, look at the process as the punishment. Even though she may not own any firearms, she will have her home searched. She will also be notified that she is forbidden from acquiring any firearms for the duration of the order. And then she will be summoned to a competency hearing, regardless of all the above.

Excuse me, but I once taught at William & Mary, the nation’s second oldest institution of higher learning. It is now, and always has been, known as “The College of William & Mary”, NOT “William & Mary university”. It has the necessary elements to term itself a university, but it does not; it is The College of William & Mary.

I noticed the improper use of “university” (sic), also, and not just because I may or may not have rung the Wren bell with Lady Thatcher back in the day.

William & Mary loved of old
    Hark upon the gale,
Hear the thunder of our chorus
    Alma Mater – Hail.

God, our Father, hear our voices
    Listen to our cry;
Bless the college of our fathers,
    Let her never die.
