Marjorie Taylor Greene Will be on 60 Minutes and Leftists Are Losing Their Minds

“This is how fascism and wannabe fascism are normalized”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia will be on 60 Minutes tonight, and the left is not taking the news well.

America is now one big college campus. Someone the left doesn’t like is being allowed to speak and they’re throwing a fit.

FOX News reports:

Liberals rage at 60 Minutes for interviewing Marjorie Taylor Greene: ‘Legitimizing a ghoul’

The announcement that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., would be appearing on this Sunday’s episode of CBS “60 Minutes” infuriated prominent liberals on social media this week.

Figures including MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan, NBC News Ben Collins, former GOP Congressman Adam Kinzinger, liberal commentator Elie Mystal, gun control activist David Hogg and others, took to Twitter to slam the CBS program for hosting Greene, one of the high-profile MAGA supporters in Congress.

The official Twitter account for the long-running CBS show caused the uproar on Friday, posting a preview of the pre-filmed interview. It featured four images of 60 Minutes host Lesley Stahl speaking to Greene in various interview location.

One notable photo featured Stahl and Greene conversing in the Capitol rotunda, evoking scenes from the January 6 Capitol riot.

In addition to the photos, the account stated, “Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, nicknamed MTG, isn’t afraid to share her opinions, no matter how intense and in-your-face they are. She sits down with Lesley Stahl this Sunday on 60 Minutes.”

Here’s a quick promo:

When I say the left is losing their minds over this, I’m not exaggerating. Take a look below:

Democrats are using the power of the state to go after their political enemies, but Marjorie Taylor Greene is a fascist. They don’t even know what the word means.

And she will be made to look the fool. I would have thought she was savvier than this. Reminds me of the idiot McCain campaign which sent Sarah Palin for “introduction to the public” interview to ABC, thereby guaranteeing the outcome they got. One has to ask if the GOP will ever wise up as to who the real enemy is.

That’s exactly what I immediately thought. If she had any sense, before agreeing to do this she would have called Mrs Palin for some advice, and insisted on being given an unedited copy of all the footage, and of having veto power over the final edit.

But what has the GOP to do with this? I don’t for a moment think the GOP organized this.

TheOldZombie in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2023 at 11:44 am

I think his point about the GOP is more generic in that he’s asking if anyone on the right will ever wise up to who the real enemy is. Not that the GOP organized anything about this interview.

Stahl is a reputed liar and has been caught numerous times engaging in deceptive editing. Expect the worse, and the “correction” will be obscure and never heard by the audience at large.

JohnC in reply to Milhouse. | April 2, 2023 at 9:07 pm

I hope she had her own cameraman filming every single interaction with Lesley Stahl. That way any edited footage can be compared to her own raw video.

Of course, an even smarter move may have been to tell 60 Minutes to take a flying leap.

Advice to Green – record everything and have your PR people on hand to roll tape on every fake edit

moonmoth in reply to Strelnikov. | April 2, 2023 at 11:04 am

“She will be made to look the fool.
She’s already vilified by the MSM. How can her appearance make things any worse? [shrug]

henrybowman in reply to moonmoth. | April 2, 2023 at 4:47 pm

So far, the left hates everything MG has to say, but they have never been able to discredit her by making her look like a hypocrite. Now, by editing her responses, they have that opportunity.

BierceAmbrose in reply to Strelnikov. | April 2, 2023 at 9:23 pm

What’s different now is this game is generally known.

Whether MTG has the chops for it, we’ll find out. If she does not, she’s not qualified for national politics.

Palin’s problem was at root that she didn’t realize she was in the majors now, playing a harder game, for bigger stakes, against better opponents. There’s a story that Caribou Barbie, visiting England while still politically relevant, declined The Iron Lady’s invitation to a private tea. You wanna play at that level, you need arrogance and humility different from what will get you elected governor in Alaska.

Huh. I guess that old 60 Minutes thing is still on the TV, then. Who knew?

I predict hatchet job.

I hope she brought her own film crew.

But they’re okay with senile and corrupt Joe Biden.

Remember when Cancel Cultural they said was made up lie?
And Communists haven’t changed since 1941 calling all opponents Fascists.

“This is how fascism and wannabe fascism are normalized”

Actually making all this phony fuss over it is exactly how actual fascism is normalized. When an actual fascist is given a platform and the same fuss is made, people will dismiss it because they’ll think it’s the same as the last fifteen times. Cf the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf.

Exactly. When everything is X then nothing is X b/c X has been diluted by hyperbole, overuse and misapplication to the point of irrelevance.

If any people know how to wet their pants it’s progressives not getting their way. Such dramatics and rage. Performance art to see who will win the Oscar for best human being.

MTG has already had great interviews on Timcast IRL. 60 minutes is dead media.

Greene should have better sense. Btw, they are not leftists, they are Democrats.

The easily predicted histrionics of the left are really becoming quite boring. Whirl on, dervishes.

The same Stahl that was in total denial that Trump’s campaign was being spied upon. during a one on one interview. She was heralded by many in that performance.

and remember her lies about the laptop

    Danny in reply to buck61. | April 2, 2023 at 4:59 pm

And why exactly did Trump do they interview besides being in love with cameras?

These are opposing propagandists going on their shows and giving them interviews is a risk with no reward at absolute best.

Is tweeter real life? No. The end.

Geez, all these left-wing nuts announcing they will never watch 60 minutes again. As if anyone cares. If Mystal hadn’t been mentioned above, I would not have recognized any of the names.

“Don’t go away mad, just go away!”

RandomCrank in reply to Pasadena Phil. | April 2, 2023 at 7:15 pm

They’re trying to get conservatives to watch it. No way for me. Don’t care who they have on the show. It’s been worthless for a long time.

For those who haven’t watched Twitter lately, there is a cadre of the Usual Suspects camped out on MTG’s feed, waiting to pounce. They don’t even bother to respond to anything she writes, they just hurl enough insulting tweets to fill up a page.

Obviously, the pretense is that the whole world thinks she’s stupid, and just as obviously, she is immensely popular, despite their slander.

If you can’t find a camera you don’t like you are officially an idiot.

MTG is not perfect and she will be providing the left with miles of ropes.

Why Republicans insist on being demolished by professional gotcha journalists….

Not to worry she will make herself sound insane and give the left all the soundbites they want.

MTG will not be praising Leslie Stahl after she sees hoe creative editing works

Danny in reply to MarkS. | April 2, 2023 at 4:55 pm

And she has only herself to blame.

BierceAmbrose in reply to MarkS. | April 2, 2023 at 9:28 pm

“MTG will not be praising Leslie Stahl…

Depends on what Stahl does. The problem is hit jobs, accepted as straight news. Hit jobs everybody knows are hit jobs often help vs. harm the target.

Hopefully MTG called Trump and will follow his way when being interviewed and that is to have your own camera also recording it. This will allow MTG to show if CBS edits and puts out modified interview MTG can put out the proper interview.

Yeah, the Virginia Citizens Defense League did exactly this when Katie Couric sandbagged them with totally deceptive editing, and it did them no good… because Couric’s network had the reach and the audience for their version, and VCDL did not.

Even in-the-bag NPR said Couric’s version was a “manipulation… switching around footage to make it falsely appear that members of a Virginia gun rights organization could not summon an answer to a key question on background checks.” one that “would not pass muster at NPR under its principles for fairness in handling interviews.”

And the worst part is the con job the press gives you — leaving you with the impression that they were “fair” to you, until you see what they did with the footage.

“Van Cleave, the head of the Virginia gun owners group, said he came away from the interview with a largely favorable impression of Couric. He said that her questions were tough but fair, and that she played the devil’s advocate but never attacked.

“Nothing in the interview made me think she would do what she did,” Van Cleave told NPR. “We’ve got to be able to trust the press.”

60 Minutes has been manipulating their footage for decades in order to make the right people look good and the wrong people look bad. It’s a slick trick with three cameras, one for a closeup of the interviewer, one for the interviewee, and one for wide shots. They’ll cut questions out of sequence with answers, switch to the interviewer footage when they’re chopping up a response, or even record questions they never asked to pair up with an answer that needs ‘adjusted’ for their bias.
–If they promise you the unedited footage after the interview, you’ll never get it.
–If they promise to give you final say on how the interview airs, you won’t get it.
–If they say they’ll arrange what questions are going to be asked before the interview, they won’t stick to them.
–If you try to obviously record your own full interview, they’ll weasel every excuse they can to stop you, including asking follow-up after you appear to turn off your cameras (or they pretend the interview is over and ask a few ‘innocent’ questions they can mutate later.)
–And of course as above, if you record the whole interview without them knowing, even if you come out later with the proof they chopped your words into dog food, 95% of the world will only see their presentation.

At the very least, I hope MTG recorded the whole thing and publishes it. I’d love to hear that instead of 60 Minutes and their tape snippets glued together.

Danny in reply to JG. | April 2, 2023 at 4:56 pm

Not unlike Trump she will be providing plenty to 60 minutes that will be helpful to 60 minutes.

Trump hurt himself a great deal with interviews that were perfectly fair.

RandomCrank | April 2, 2023 at 6:06 pm

Doesn’t matter to me. 60 Minutes hasn’t been worth a shit for a long time.
