Ex-Energy Official Sam Brinton Pleads No Contest for Allegedly Stealing Luggage in Las Vegas
Brinton faces similar charges in Minnesota.
Former Department of Energy official Sam Brinton, who identifies as non-binary, pleaded no contest for allegedly stealing luggage at the Las Vegas airport in July.
Brinton has to pay $3,670.74. He was given 180 days suspended jail term.
The crime carried a prison sentence of 10 years.
Brinton faced a felony grand larceny charge. A camera at the airport made him the prime suspect when it caught him with the stolen suitcase.
Brinton faces similar charges in Minnesota. The Minneapolis airport cameras also caught him with the suitcase in question.
He appeared in a Minnesota courtroom in February. The judge released him on bail and ordered him not to contact the victim.
The woman claimed the items in her suitcase were worth $2,325.
Court papers say that Brinton admitted he took the suitcase at the Minneapolis airport but left the clothes in the hotel room. He then checked into the airport with the suitcase and flew back to D.C.
Officials did not find the clothes in the hotel room or at the hotel.
Brinton faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Brinton worked as the Assistant Secretary of the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition. He became famous for being the first “genderfluid” person to hold a leadership role in the federal government.
Well, the DOE fired Brintoin in December.
I wrote in November that the MIT graduate had made news for displaying his “genderfluid” style but also, in the past, made it no secret he has a “pup play” fetish. He even gave “Kink 101” workshops on college campuses. He also belongs to the anti-Catholic drag queen society that mocks nuns.
The MSM gobbled up all those facts about Brinton, showing him off to prop up Biden’s “inclusive” administration.

Sam Brinton walks into a bar… Barkeep sez….Bud Light?
Brinton sez “Yeah, I like it in the can”
Of course, no jail time
If he was a Trump associate, he would be getting at least three years. Two Americas.
Of course. No jail time means the authorities don’t have to make an uncomfortable decision on which wing of the jail to put him in.
I bet he wasn’t kept waiting in the gulag for his trial, either.
This perp should have been fined the total costs relating to the investigation and prosecution of his crime!
I suspect these items total at least $100,000!
The real question is, of course, what would have happened to you or me had any of us stolen luggage from a baggage carousel. I have to think that this has happened before so there should be some case law that notes what happened to the guilty parties. I don’t have access to the legal databases that have these data but perhaps someone does.
Is the sentence the usual? Or is Mr. Brinton not really getting what he deserves?
Brinton isn’t getting what he deserves.
Now lets see what Houston and Minneapolis courts do.
Then we can start the lawsuits from his victims.
It seems likely that there are other times he did it and got away with it.
Let’s see. He took a bag that clearly was not his, and he knew it was not his — he’d checked in with one bag, he had gotten his one bag, and now he sneakily takes another.
There’s a report out there that he told the authorities that the clothes in the bag were his. Also, that this is not the first time Mr. Brinton has done this.
What’s the penalty for lying to legal authorities? Pretty sure that’s a crime for which he has not been charged.
I think real punishment is appropriate here, followed by hospitalization, because he truly is very ill.
If we were to hospitalize the number of people with his disease – and I’m not talking about the theft – I’m not certain we’d have enough space to house them all
In the Minnesota case, Brinton did not have any luggage when he got on the plane, but went to the baggage carousel and stole the lady’s bag. That is premeditated theft. It wasn’t an innocent case of mistaken identity. If this was someone from a GOP administration they would be doing 3 to 5 yrs without doubt. More proof that there are in fact two sets of laws in our nation now, one for the libtards, and one for the other 80% of us. Biden’s handlers hired this fruitcake. Can you imagine the uproar if a Republican POTUS hired a jean wearing, snuff dipping country boy who happened to have an MIT degree to the same job Brinton had? CNN & MSLSD would have a shit conniption.
He worked under President Trump, he didn’t wear this bs
He’s a smart guy but evil as they come
Why is it “allegedly stealing” when he confesses in court that he’s guilty?
I believe a plea of “No Contest” is not an official admission of guilt.
Of course, given the evidence, I’d say he’s guilty.
“No contest” is lawsuit protection I think. No admission of guilt makes the suit more difficult.
Brinton is repaying the cost of the scarves, gloves and belts with his VISA card in order that they may be charged as accessories.
*groan*
he has more profound issues to address than merely being a serial luggage thief
“…who identifies as non-binary…”
Can we please stop pretending that this is idiocy means anything, let alone something that adds value to a person’s character, status, or worth?
“Non-binary”, along with “queer”, strike me as indicative of narcissism. There is no direct functional utility to sending a clear signal that signals nothing in particular. It is signaling for its own sake, for the pure purpose of attracting attention.
You never see the guy in the same room as a woman.
The entire ploy puts me in mind of Ali Wong’s bit about Fancy Asians and Jungle Asians.
“The fancy Asians are the Chinese, the Japanese. They get to do fancy things like host Olympics. Jungle Asians host diseases.”
In Brinton’s case (and possibly many others) “Non-Binary” just means “Fancy Gay.”
1) He/She/It was a Federal Official.
2) He/She/It is one [or more] “protected classes” that have functional legal immunity for anything they do.
3) He/She/It is very much a Leftist which especially in the current regime imparts even more legal immunity than at other times.
If caught on camera committing any crime, He/She/It is functionally immune from imprisonment, because if imprisonment was imposed it would imply that the rest of the ruling class are subject to the same laws as the rest of us.
