Elon Musk Claims the Govt had ‘Full Access’ to Twitter, Including Direct Messages

“The degree to which government agencies effectively had full access to everything that was going on on Twitter blew my mind.”

Elon Musk told Tucker Carlson he couldn’t believe how much access the federal government had at Twitter, including access to direct messages:

Elon Musk claims the US government had “full access” to direct, private messages sent through Twitter — a revelation that he said “blew my mind.”

“The degree to which government agencies effectively had full access to everything that was going on on Twitter blew my mind,” Musk told Tucker Carlson of Fox News in an interview that will air in two separate segments Monday and Tuesday evening.

“I was not aware of that,” Musk told Carlson. A snippet of the interview was posted to Twitter.

“Would that include people’s DMs?” Carlson asked.

“Yes,” Musk replied without elaborating.

Musk then said he’d like to encrypt DMs:

MUSK: “Yes. It is. So, like id, we’re moving to have the dm’s be optionally encrypted. Like a lot of dm conversations which are just chatting are friends.”

Tucker had to be facing his surprise

Any sane person knows the government is reading EVERYTHING!

To be honest, reading everything is beyond even Argus. But that being said, if you come to the attention of the government, they can go back and collect everything you’ve touched for closer examination. And with advances in AI, it becomes even easier for the government to approach Argus-level attention. Deleting Facebook posts and Tweets when you think you’re going to be investigated is fine, and *not* an attempt to obstruct justice (despite many attempts by Fed prosecutors to make it so). As Elon just said, the government has full access to the various social media even without warrants, and that includes everything you think you deleted.

“Why you encrypting those twits if you have nothing to hide?”

“Oh, I’m not doing anything illegal. It’s just that you aren’t the only bad guys out there.”

Somehow, I don’t imagine the Feebs being terribly amused at that jest. Funny because it’s true.

Musk is a great American patriot who understands what the First Amendment is about

Musk is neck deep with the China

He is building ANOTHER plant right now for his Teslas

There are videos of his telling the Chinese, they are the future, with huge standing ovation

The guy’s a businessman, for sure; I don’t make him out to be a heroic figure. That said, do you give him any credit at all for standing up to and calling out Dumb-o-crat censorship, suppression of dissenting opinions and assorted chicanery? I think he deserves a nod for this, given that pretty much every billionaire magnate in the tech sector and in other sectors reflexively and reliably carries water for the Dumb-o-crats.

In that sense, at least, Musk marches to the beat of a different drum.

Musk is getting red pilled for sure, but make no mistake, Musk is extremely liberal in most things

        He voted for Biden

        All in Transhumanism

        Doesn’t really believe in God

Makes awful choices with women and has what, 10 kids with 3-4 different women?

One son is trans and I give him all the credit in the world for calling BS on it
So the son is “disowning. Musk” and changing his last name

Wonder if he’s given up the money?

        Doubtful

I just hope his evolution continues and speeds up

We need more billionaires on our side of sanity and being the riches man in the world, or so they say, is a great asset

He knows the Chinese are using slave labor to build his cars

When he calls it quits on that turn I’ll believe the change is a true.

Apple is at least trying to decouple from China, at least they say that

Musk could build a factory in the US to make those batteries, but then China would cut him off

        Hmm

        AI Race Takes A Turn
Last week, Wall Street Journal reported that Tesla (TSLA) chief Elon Musk incorporated a new company in March that will develop artificial intelligence technologies. Musk helped found OpenAI in 2015 but left it in 2018.

The new company, called X.ai, has 100 million shares on offer in a private sale. X.ai has plans of developing ‘TruthGPT’ that will rival Google parent Alphabet (GOOGL), Microsoft (MSFT), C3.ai (AI), OpenAI and DeepMind.

Nothing surprises me, anymore. The breadth of the federal government’s mendacity, deceit, corruption, lawlessness and contempt for the citizens simply reflects the vile Dumb-o-crats’ intrinsically and brazenly totalitarian attitudes and political ethos, given that the Dumbs control most if not all of the levers of power in government and in the private sector.

Purely tyrannical

Yet pedophiles and kiddie porn are rarely stopped.

Children are just young adults. Babies are just technical terms of art (“fetus”). Abortion is a reproductive right. Diversity (i.e. color judgment, class-based bigotry) is equitable and inclusive. Social, semantic progress.

Dathurtz in reply to geronl. | April 18, 2023 at 2:47 pm

This is what I wanted to say. With FULL access and terabytes of child porn flowing through twitter, they not only couldn’t identify and stop that flow, but couldn’t catch any of the people causing it.

There is only one reason why.

BierceAmbrose in reply to geronl. | April 19, 2023 at 10:50 pm

It was reported that Twitter itself cracked down on this, post-acquisition.

What’s the bottom line on that — anybody know?

The CIA infiltrated the media decades ago, through which it has been gaslighting the American people in myriad ways. This is just one of the more recent iterations of that.

The next Republican who renews the Patriot Act is a traitor.

Ninth Dimension | April 18, 2023 at 12:09 pm

I’d also like to know if the government sucked up all the metadata and “digital exhaust” that the Twitter apps generate; location data, contact lists, apps installed, browsing history, text messages, MAC address, photos, etc. That’s a much richer dataset than DMs, and more valuable.

Domestic collusion (DC).

BierceAmbrose | April 19, 2023 at 11:21 pm

Aaaaaand, the Senate, all P-Oed that CCP-China is “spying” on Americans via Tik Tok — “You can’t spy on our citizens; that’s our job!” — is now all about giving some agency “authority” to ban apps if, and as they choose. Starting with VPNs, because it’s a foreign threat if The Feebs can’t see that you’re browsing scarves on Etsy.

They can’t keep piles of compartmented TS under control, so No Computing For You. Fer Bog’s Sake.

BierceAmbrose | April 19, 2023 at 11:24 pm

Oh, it’s worse than that. The security argument goes: “Because this thing is used intrnationally, we gotta have free snoop to keep track of the baddies out there.”

Yet, somehow, they manage to use that to keep tabs on citizens, inside the country. This ain’t new — it’s the same work-around they use with The Five Eyes for domestic spying.
