Chicago: Two Teens Shot During Violent, Chaotic “Wilding” Episode

Chicago: Two Teens Shot During Violent, Chaotic “Wilding” Episode

Where are the parents?

Hundreds of teens reportedly gathered en masse Friday night in Chicago. Car windows were broken, assaults reportedly took place, and two teens were shot during the mayhem that is being described as “wilding.”

CBS Chicago reports:

There was a heavy police presence as hundreds of teens gathered in Chicago’s Loop, causing chaos Saturday evening.

At some point during the night, two teenagers standing in a crowd were shot.

CBS 2’s Shardaa Gray reported hundreds of rowdy teens flooded the downtown area – specifically in the area near Primark, located at 35 N. State St.

Multiple teens were arrested – each one was under the age of 18.

Police say two teenage boys were standing in a crowd when shots were fired by an unknown person.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the right arm and was taken by firefighters to Northwestern Hospital in fair condition. A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg and taken to Northwestern by Chicago firefighters in fair condition.

Police are reportedly unsure how this started, but it seems to be a trend.

CBS Chicago continues:

Back in the Loop, police were seen blocking off Washington at State Streets as multiple reports of gunfire, fights, and bottles were thrown at CTA buses. The crowds were in the hundreds of people.

We’ve seen social media posts promoting teens to fight in the Loop, but police say they have no clue how this started.

The scene was chaotic, but there are reports that drivers were attacked in their cars and beaten, their cars vandalized.

Fox News has more:

Hundreds of teenagers stormed the streets of downtown Chicago, smashing car windows, attacking bystanders and sending panicked tourists running from the sound of gunfire.

“Where are their parents at, that’s my question,” a woman who identified as a Chicago native told Fox 32 as the unruly scene played out in Downtown Chicago Saturday night.

. . . . Large groups of teens were seen blasting music from Bluetooth speakers and spilling in front of traffic, with some attempting to gain access to the city’s Millennium Park, which is off limits to those under 21 after certain hours, and the downtown Art Institute.

Some teens in the group began jumping up and down on cars, smashing windows and attacking people inside. One woman told Fox 32 her husband was attacked from the driver side of his vehicle and beaten after a group of teens jumped up and down on the couple’s windshield. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

“teens”. There’s that code word again…

The first rehearsal for the coming convention.

“Hundreds of teens reportedly gathered en masse Friday night in Chicago”

There’s that descriptor again, “teens.” Hmmm, I wonder who.

Again and again these “teens” keep proving that Charles Murray has been right all along.

Pretty sure the parents of these mopes checked out already.

Parents?? Hahahahaha!
Daddy dropped his sperm and left, and Mama don’t care about nothing,

I say this as a Chicagoan of 5 decades. Glad I’m out of there.

Parents? 😂😂 At best it’s going to be a single momma because she doesn’t even know who the father is. She herself was probably from a single parent household too and had no idea who her father was because her mother had no idea who the father was as it could have been any one of many males.

The Gentle Grizzly | April 16, 2023 at 2:38 pm

This is just spring time. Wait until summer. Toss in ONE “youth” brandishing a gun or knife getting shot by police, and Chicago will burn to the ground.

Wilding is actually baiting, as it is explained as a means for these teens to let out the steam heat but is yet another example of weak minds lured into slavery. When the first retaliatory act occurs the baiting aspect will become evident as the cudgel comes down upon our heads. The people that push this “wilding” nonsense know that all too well, and don’t mind exploiting it.

All it would take is for two or three looters to get blown in half with a 12ga slug. Yes, the shooter may end up in jail, but it will give at least some of the wilders (wilding-ers?) might have second thoughts.

I refer you to the Rooftop Koreans. They didn’t blow anyone on half with a 12ga slug, but, their shops and homes were left alone.

I read your comment GG and I tried to care and I wasn’t able to.

You will care if it comes to where you live. I am not being nasty, just saying. Chicago has made their bed, and I expected nothing less with a majority minority population combined with Democrats who still think theirs is the party of Estes Kefauver and Adlai Stevenson.

But I am too tired to care about Chicago burning. I keep thinking people will notice that the Democrats are destroying everything.. I will do what I can to stop it from coming here. The first step is that I am not in a city and not in a blue state. Unfortunately that will probably not be enough. Lies won the day on an abortion question recently. Roe v. Wade did its job and trained 50 years of people that abortion is a right.

The entire social contract has broken down. This stuff in Chicago is but one part. Vulgar music, coarse and crass behavior in public, kids of all races flash-mobbing stores…

Get your popcorn ready. CPD took one out over the weekend. Known gang member with a gun in his hand, running away from cops. Baby daddy with the fake tears, soon to be smiling all the way to the bank after the family gets their $$ millions from the city.

These dusky delinquents never seem to conduct orderly wildings. It appears that the word, “teen”, is becoming as defunct as “gay” in the old sense.

Some personal suggestions, for whatever little that they are worth:

1) Noting that I have been a tourist in Chicago long ago and enjoyed the Art Institute, a number of other attractions, and some wonderful restaurants; as entertaining as they are they are not worth the risk to life and limb involved in visiting Chicago anymore. There will not always be cops there to get you out of problems like this, which are going to become more and more common.

2) Places like the Art Institute of Chicago are custodians of huge numbers of items that are part of the common heritage of mankind. They are not safe there. The Goths are inside the gates of Rome. It is time to quietly start moving those items away from Chicago to somewhere they can be preserved and protected from all those places.

3) If you are a major business inside Chicago, especially one that deals primarily online with your business, why are you endangering your employees, your physical plant, and your investments by being based even partly in Chicago? If you trade in stocks or commodities as many of the businesses do downtown, it can be done more safely, just as fast, and far more cheaply from just outside metro Chicago.

4) If you own real estate in Chicago . . . why? This is going to spread. The local government is at war with law enforcement which is terribly understaffed and it is going to get worse. There are no protectors of your investments, and it is time to get out before it collapses.

5) if you are a cop or another emergency service provider, even granting that there is the matter of pensions, is the risk on the streets AND the risk of being betrayed by your bosses worth being there? There are plenty of better employers that need cops, firemen, paramedics, and dispatchers.

It is what it is, and there is no prospect of things getting better there.

I had occasion to go back to the city a few weeks ago. We were there late morning, on N. Michigan Avenue, empty of foot traffic and very little vehicular traffic. It was SO strange to me. We went for an engagement ring and I wouldn’t even let them put it in their iconic bag….right into my son’s zipped pocket. We went straight to parking and right out of the city.

Chicago voters are majority Dem. I say let the dem voters suffer the consequences of their choices and stupidity. The corrupt self serving politicians, teachers union and woke dems ruined Chicago. Many residents, businesses and cops are and have been moving out. Some cops are holding out for the pension. It is hard to walk away from family and friends you’ve known your whole life. You are going to see more Memphis style cops in Chicago. Chicago is not what it used to be. Yet the white liberal loons still vote in the progressives. Then when they are directly affected by the crime, they quietly move away to infect red states. Chicago is only going to get worse under the new progressive mayor. Soon you’ll be hearing the demands for more federal funding and reparations.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to Reader45. | April 16, 2023 at 5:20 pm

Actually, part of the reason for those particular recommendations is so that the economic factors that support what is left of Chicago will leave and it will collapse. I have no affection for Chicago other than a couple of places like the Art Institute and the Museum of Science and Industry; whose collections I would like to see moved to America.

I understand waiting for pensions, etc. I wore a badge for 28 years before retiring.

Well said. I tip my hat to you and thank you for your service.

Ahh the museums in Chicago are breathtaking, and the planetarium, Aquarium..

        Everyone should experience them!

As a child from Milwaukee, we had school field trips every year there

I took my kids from Texas

We would sing 99 beers on the wall, as elementary students , amd no one would blink an eye, speaking children here, and no parental volunteers when I think of it, cause kids were well behaved in the 50’s and 60’s

Also pizza in Chicago should be experienced

Al the above, just don’t do it in Chicago or any other blue city

      healthguyfsu in reply to Reader45. | April 16, 2023 at 8:28 pm

It’s not that simple. These vacuums of money and power suck at the federal tit and siphon off everything they can to keep their grift going.

Then, they have the nerve to pretend like they bring in all the money because of their “large economy”. When you put a bunch of people in a small space, it brings in revenue but that doesn’t make it productive or even in the black.

Honey, we been askin’ that since LBJ.

Chicago Trib has run a couple of articles that details how screwed up Cook County justice system is.

Stalled Justice: From missing evidence to no-show cops, Cook County court machinery jams at every turn.

Stalled Justice: Judges could push the pace on slow-moving murder cases. Most of them don’t.

These articles are depressing to read.

For example, most murder cases take more than four years to resolve.

Blacks need to get themselves off the Democrat plantation because Democrats sure as hell ain’t gonna let them just walk off their plantation!!

Absolutely. They are the means for an end that does not include them.

Hm. Maybe it was a tactical error to name the 2022 movement “Walk Away.” They should have named it something like the “Underground Supertrain.”

Social progress is fast, furious, and, apparently, a progressive condition. Forward!

“Teens”, eh?

Got it.

Japanese have literally no crime

Wonder why?

This is what a breakdown of law and order looks like Can’t wait to read the rationale offered by the newly elected mayor who is a complete puppet of the teachers union

We did our field trips to Milwaukee!

😂

Good to see the new Mayor is just as effective as the old one.

MoeHowardwasright | April 17, 2023 at 9:32 am

To quote the Who, “meet the new boss, same as the old boss”. We have friends who live in shi&cago. They are hanging on till their youngest son finishes high school. By the time they sell the exit tax will equal the equity in their home. That’s if you could find a buyer.
I don’t feel any pity for them. They rationalized their way to poverty.

I just checked Heyjackass for weekend totals– 13 killed, 31 shot & wounded. Killing by other means logged but not identified. So these kids are 2 of the 31, but they generate the most attention…. 13 shot and killed from noon Friday to 0600 Monday. In general, arrests are as scarce as hens’ teeth, so definitive info on the shooters not available.

henrybowman in reply to amatuerwrangler. | April 17, 2023 at 5:45 pm

    13 shot and killed.
That’s a medium-to-large (30-day wonder for the MSM) “school shooting” every weekend — without inconveniencing a single school.
    Blue efficiency!

In other places, a mob of out-of-control teens simply makes for a “target-rich environment”.

since the overdose of floyd (actually since or before the rightful dispatch of brown) what’s disturbing is this behaviour has become commonplace in our country–lord–and somehow it’s not the “teens” at fault–bs–unless their “parents” or “teachers” are committing these acts themselves, these “teens” are damn sure at fault, are responsible–their “actions” are criminal and need to stopped and punished–if not, their actions can (and have) escalated to greater and more lethal offenses

someone (preferrably thousands of someones) needs to advise the “mayor” or administrators of these blue cesspools that this IS NOT the third world (yet)

Why could I care less what happens in Chicago, they voted for it.
