Kentucky Senator Rand Paul announced on Monday that a member of his staff was physically attacked in Washington, DC during broad daylight over the weekend.

The attack allegedly involved a knife and the staffer sustained injuries described as life threatening.

FOX News reports:

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul says staff member ‘brutally attacked,’ sustained ‘life-threatening’ injuries

The office of Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul confirmed Monday that a member of his staff was “brutally attacked” on the streets of Washington, D.C over the weekend.

“This past weekend a member of my staff was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C.,” Paul said in a statement. “I ask you to join Kelley and me in praying for a speedy and complete recovery, and thanking the first responders, hospital staff, and police for their diligent actions.”

“We are relieved to hear the suspect has been arrested. At this time we would ask for privacy so everyone can focus on healing and recovery,” he added.

Paul’s office did not confirm the identity of the staff member who was attacked, however a press released issued by the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department on Monday afternoon said the victim was an adult male who had sustained “life-threatening injuries.”

The statement announced the arrest of a suspect, 42-year-old Glynn Neal, “in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Knife) offense,” and that the incident occurred on the 1300 block of H Stree, NE, less than 1.5 miles from the U.S. Capitol.

He’s a violent, convicted felon who was released from prison the day before the attack.

Here is a notice from Doj. Looks like the supervised release worked well.

WASHINGTON – Glynn Neal, 30, was sentenced today to 12 years and four months of
incarceration for compelling two North Carolina women to engage in prostitution through the use
of threats, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. announced.
Neal, of Washington, D.C., was convicted in January 2011 by a jury in the Superior Court of
the District of Columbia of charges of pandering, procuring, compelling a person to live a life of
prostitution against her will, felony threats, and obstruction of justice. He was sentenced today by the Honorable Lynn Leibovitz, who also ordered that he be placed on five years of supervised release upon completion of his prison term.

Let’s see, Assault with Intent to Kill. That’s been reduced to a misdemeanor in DC, right? $50 fine and 2 hours of community service.

Attempted Murder …….of a Republican/Conservative/Libertarian. Time served &$50. Next case, please.

But with a knife because stabbing someone to death is more “humane” than beating shot. Murder with a gun is more serious than with a knife. Some murders are more equal than others.

You left out the emissions issue both of gases and lead involved in shooting.

The man is a climate change hero.

In the D.C. courts, brutally assaulting a white person generally satisfies a convict’s “community service” obligation.

Was there some motive? Does the criminal know the victim? It didn’t seem like a robbery attempt. Is the alleged perp mentally ill? Or was he paid to go after a particular target or class of target?

Will there be any follow up from the media on this story, ever?

I will not hold my breath for answers to any of these questions.

I have no idea if he was paid to attack a particular target. But I can say with certainty that the left is using CRT, BLM and all the other ‘Critical Theory’ nonsense to gin up racial animus in this country. They’re deliberately creating a societal powder keg in hopes of blowing the entire thing up so they can finally replace it with their Marxist utopian vision. Because THIS TIME we have the smartest men working on it.

If he was paid for a hit, then he will be punished in jail for not fulfilling the contract.

Black, on White crime, what a surprise

Just a guess but I’d bet ‘Assault with Intent to Kill’ is a lesser charge than “Attempted Murder”. Of course any hate crime enhancements are off the table.

I’m not a supporter of hate crime laws in general, but if they exist and are used for one then they should be used for all.

Spend less than a year in jail for assault on police and threat of bodily harm got out, violated parole with multiple felony charges of kidnapping and coerced prostitution, and is now back out committing felonies again?

At what point does euthanasia become the societal good.

I think this is a message being sent to Rand Paul, not a random attack. I doubt staffers are covered under sentence enhancements for attacks on sitting Senators.

Think about Paul’s own attack by his neighbor

I do wish LI would ban the sniveling turd who has been skipping through the comment section and down voting reasonable comments. For a couple months now I’ve noticed the pattern and I’m left with the question “why in hell would anyone downvote that?” Here’s an up vote to counter the sniveling turd down vote.

Timing seems odd considering he’s in the Senate minority.

      He keeps asking uncomfortable questions.

Also willing to be the guy way out front making crazy proposals that somebody picks up later once they’re normalized.

The guy pushing the Overton window is the one to get. He makes everybody else’s results later possible.

Could this be part of a RICO case?

My guess straight away was a Leftist on Conservative attack

I would bet this felon was paid to attack Rand Paul’s Staffer. We will know when we see a better the usual Attorney supporting the felon and he once again gets a light sentence.

The Gentle Grizzly | March 28, 2023 at 5:21 pm

So, was the stabbing due to the victim being a Ron Paul staffer? Or, just some nut-cake out to stab someone?

One of Obama’s sons.

You can tell all you need to know based on whether or not the mug shot has been censored in most news stories on the attack.
