Conservative Female Authors Attacked by Protesters at Book Launch Event

Conservative Female Authors Attacked by Protesters at Book Launch Event

“Suddenly I heard screaming, had books thrown at me and I was soaking wet”

Bethany Mandel and Karol Markowicz are both conservatives and mothers. They have written a book together about the woke indoctrination taking place in public schools which was exposed during the pandemic.

During a launch event for their book in Manhattan this week, they were attacked by left wing protesters who also harassed the people attending the event.

Amanda Prestigiacomo reports at the Daily Wire:

Authors Attacked At ‘Stolen Youth’ Book Launch, Attendees Called ‘Fascists C***s’

Authors Bethany Mandel and Karol Markowicz encountered screaming protesters Wednesday night in Manhattan at a launch party for their book “Stolen Youth: How Radicals Are Erasing Innocence and Indoctrinating a Generation.”

The protesters, described as young white women, threw their drinking glasses at the wall where the pair’s books were displayed, Markowicz told The Daily Wire, and Mandel had books and drinks thrown on her, leaving the author soaking wet.

“I saw two wild-eyed young white women run up to our party and scream ‘Black Lives Matter!’” Markowicz recalled in an email sent to The Daily Wire. “They threw their drinking glasses at the wall where our books were displayed and ran off.”

“Suddenly I heard screaming, had books thrown at me and I was soaking wet,” Mandel said. “I realized young women with short, dyed blue hair were screaming at us ‘black lives matter, trans lives matter!’ I tried to talk to them, but they ran off.”

Mandel had her two-month-old baby, whom she is still nursing, with her at the event. Moments before the attack, one of her friends was snuggling with the child, who was thankfully unhurt.

Steve Forbes, who was also at the event, was also assaulted.

The Daily Mail reported:

Media mogul Steve Forbes was assaulted by screaming BLM protesters who threw drinks over him at party for conservative book about ‘wokeism poisoning young brains’

Media mogul Steve Forbes has revealed he was assaulted by two ‘wild-eyed’ Black Lives Matter protesters at a conservative book launch in New York.

Forbes says the campaigners stormed into the event on Wednesday and began ‘yelling almost incoherently,’ pushing books off the counter and drenching guests in drinks.

The 75-year-old Forbes CEO was celebrating the launch ‘Stolen Youth,’ a book centered on how ‘wokeism is poisoning young brains.’

‘I was taking to co-author Bethany Mandel near the counter where the books were on display,’ he told Fox Digital.

‘Suddenly a woman seemingly out of nowhere was angrily yelling almost incoherently about matters that weren’t related to the subject of the book.

‘The books themselves were pushed off the counter loudly landing on the floor while simultaneously she tossed a drink our way.’

Karol Markowicz recently spoke to Tucker Carlson about the book and what it’s about:

Didn’t the left kind of prove the authors’ point here?

PORN IN LIBRARIES MATTERS!!!!!

In the linked Daily Mail article Forbes CEO jokingly says “good thing I was wearing a dark suit” after a drink was thrown at him/ the author/ the wall (all apparently happened).

What if it had been ACID?? These assaults need to be taken seriously, because these people have no regard for human life or individual Liberty—and they will escalate.

Conservatives need to grow some balls and start physically fighting back. These protestors attack because conservatives are weak and they know there are no consequences. Make them suggest the consequences of their actions or continue to be victims of progressive physical violence.

I’m sure you can volunteer to be their bodyguard if you want.

Otherwise, what conservatives need is for law and order to mad again. Lucky for us, a lot of liberals need and want the same thing. The only question remains is what they are willing to give up on their liberal worldview to get it back because their elected leaders are selling them out to criminals right now.

You are mistaken if you think law and order in these Democrat shit holes will protect conservatives 😂😂 But ya know, I love your positivity 🤣

Do that and YOU will be the one in trouble. That would be true almost anywhere, not just in NYC.

If you’re a bystander or volunteer bodyguard, using physical force to ‘defend’ the two authors subjects you to some very uncomfortable questions by the police and DA. As in, who gave you the right to do this, did you use unreasonable force, were you yourself threatened, etc. You can defend yourself (and your client if you were hired to do so) but you have to know the law.

Once reason bodyguards cost money and don’t work pro-bono is that they’re licensed — they’re expected to KNOW the law, know what they can and can’t do, and so on.

You might do well to remember Andrew Branca’s points about knowing the law so that you aren’t yourself doing time.

I agree completely, and recommend the same against so-called law enforcement who demonstrate their complicity with the other side. I’m proud of my fellow Tribe members Karol and Bethany for standing up to the mob.

I’d love to see a conservative-minded personal security company provide pro-bono bodyguard and canine services for events such as this. As well as a conservative-minded videographer or two.

healthguyfsu in reply to Rab. | March 12, 2023 at 4:06 pm

No one offers “pro-bono security”. Pro-bono legal work is done to get raise one’s profile in the legal profession. The same incentive does not apply here.

As for videographers, there are already plenty of them that post to social media like Andy Ngo.

Pro bono is not for reputation, although it may be for some. It is to give back to the community, to help people in need of legal help, and often involves significant time and effort for little to no recognition.

Highly recommend Daniel Greenfield’s article on universities:

https://www.frontpagemag.com/americas-crisis-is-the-universities/

It summarizes the mentality that creates people who attack people over a book, not to mention anything American.

The Left screams about the “banning” of books when it is not available in settings inappropriate for the age of the CHILD. Yet, adults in an adult environment are beset by them. One cannot reason with them so the reenforced TIT for tat will be required. Naomi Wolf has been shocked into semi-consciousness by her exile from her previous bubble for questioning the Covidians. Of course, any counter force will be interpreted by them as a first strike on their position rather than self-defense. The Muslims have shown what is needed.

Conservatives need to understand that the ‘authorities’ WILL NOT protect them from these insane protestors, and act accordingly.

Right now the organizers of these events have calculated (correctly, currently) that they face far more risk actually controlling and stopping these insane tantrum throwers than actually protecting the people at their events.

Demand to know what the organizer’s security plan is for insane aggressive ‘protestors’ like this, start refusing to appear in venues where the organizer hasn’t provided an adequate plan, and start suing the organizers if they claimed to have a plan and then allow crap like this to happen,

Unfortunately part of this is due to the insane DAs refusing to hold them criminally accountable.

As Elon Musk said the other day, Dave Chappelle literally got attacked on stage by somebody with a KNIFE, and they walked away with a $3000 fine and no jail time (although with an absolute asswhupping by Dave’s personal security).

JackinSilverSpring | March 12, 2023 at 3:23 pm

These “protestors” are nothing less than fascists. Where were the police to keep the protestors away? Conservatives are going to have to get their own private protection service because police are inept. American society appears to be regressing to a lawlessness that requires everyone to protect himself or herself.

CommoChief in reply to JackinSilverSpring. | March 12, 2023 at 3:40 pm

The true problem is that a society which refuses to protect individuals to the point that individuals must hire their own security (armed of course b/c what’s the point otherwise) then the social compact is no longer in place. People don’t generally want anarchy and will eventually look around and wonder why they shouldn’t use their private security forces to do the tasks the State refuses to do. Either we have a functional social compact or we have warlords; Locke or Hobbs.

JackinSilverSpring in reply to CommoChief. | March 13, 2023 at 10:21 am

I don’t think it is either Locke or Hobbs. I do think it’s more like Europe in the Dark Ages when every man had to defend himself. And, yes, the social compact is crumbling before our eyes, at least in the blue states.

Hobbs describes the ‘State of Nature’ without a social compact as nasty, brutish and short. His First law of Nature – ‘that every man ought to endeavor peace as far as he has hope of obtaining it;and when he cannot obtain it that he many seek and use all helps and advantages of war’.

aslannn in reply to CommoChief. | March 15, 2023 at 1:53 pm

The problem is that individuals wait for society to protect them, rather than realizing that each is their own first line of defense.

The lady, looking for her other handkerchief in her dress, noticing everybody looking at her, “I was sure I had two when I came in.”

Reader’s Digest joke found in high school library, 1954 (_Fun Fare_)

How is this not assault? Law enforcement should be involved, arrests, and jail/fines assessed.

paracelsus in reply to Romey. | March 12, 2023 at 4:12 pm

not in NYC or Portland, OR

rhhardin in reply to paracelsus. | March 12, 2023 at 4:16 pm

Some Ohio governor sued a protester for a pie in the face. Rhodes? It seemed like being a poor sport at the time.

rhhardin in reply to rhhardin. | March 12, 2023 at 4:17 pm

        wiki

Steve Conliff’s decision to throw a pie at Governor Rhodes was due to Rhodes’ direct role in the Kent State shootings; particularly 1) the ordering of Ohio National Guard troops onto campus, and 2) his angry speech given the day before the shootings (May 3, 1970) to assembled news media.

alaskabob in reply to rhhardin. | March 12, 2023 at 4:30 pm

The National Guardsman were in the same position as the Redcoats in Boston. Bricks were thrown at the Guardsman. There was arson on campus. Letting the 1960’s version of Antifa have their way was not in the cards. Don’t forget that former AG Holder was part of armed occupation of another university’s building. That was the mindset. The media was just as “liberal” as now…looking for an issue to play. Of course it is “no win”….not then and not now under the progressive watchful eye.

They want to ban books about banning books because they hate banning books unless they are by someone who should have their books banned.

LukeHandCool | March 12, 2023 at 6:18 pm

This is battery, pure and simple. They should be arrested.

This does not appear to have been some organized event like you get with antifa or some other terrorist organization. They were just ordinary every day mentally ill leftists, doing what they thought they were supposed to do.

It’s almost impossible to protect against this sort completely. But having a plan to deal with it has become essential.

If you are any sort of Conservative and considering a public appearance, think in terms of awareness and defense. Have a big friend or two near by and ready to get involved. Have the police on speed dial. Wear body armor. Carry a gun (legally only! Which means in this particular venue, it probably wasn’t an option).

THINK of your safety BEFORE things go wrong. Because they will go wrong.

“Our book is about a forced conformity that has gripped the country and irrationally angry protesters trying to shut down our party only prove our point.”

Yes. Yes, it does – now what are conservatives going to do about it? It’s become obvious that these types of violent confrontation are predictable, and carried out by for-hire crisis actors on someone’s payroll.

Hired security should be SOP for public appearances by conservatives. Heed the warning. “Punch back twice as hard.” Right, Barack?

Fat_Freddys_Cat | March 13, 2023 at 8:39 am

Note to protesters: now I KNOW I’m buying a copy of this book. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Steven Brizel | March 13, 2023 at 9:02 am

The progressive/woke movement clearly actively suppreses dissenting views and is more properly American Marxist in its views

American Spring

Was there NO ONE in the crowd assembled that could apply the beat down these blue hairs richly deserved? At a certain point this has to be laid at our footstep. We should NOT allow this to happen.

Pretty sure throwing wine on someone constitutes assault. When are conservatives going to fight back? This will continue until they do.
