Revealed: Then-VP Biden Removed Top-Secret “Sensitive Compartmented” Classified Documents, Kept In His Private U. Penn Office

Will there be FBI Raids? CNN: “The classified materials included some top-secret files with the ‘sensitive compartmented information’ designation, also known as SCI, which is used for highly sensitive information obtained from intelligence sources.”

It has just been revealed that Joe Biden, upon leaving office as Obama’s Vice President, took with him some of the most sensitive classified documents, and then kept them in his private office at the University of Pennslyvania.

CNN reports:

Several classified documents from President Joe Biden’s time as vice president were discovered last fall in a private office, Biden’s attorneys acknowledged Monday.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has asked the US attorney in Chicago to investigate the matter, a source familiar with the matter tells CNN, and congressional Republicans are also taking notice.

Biden’s lawyers say they found the government materials in November while closing out a Washington, DC-based office – the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement – that Biden used as part of his relationship with the University of Pennsylvania, where he was an honorary professor from 2017 to 2019.

Fewer than a dozen classified documents were found at Biden’s office, another source told CNN. It is unclear what the documents pertain to or why they were taken to Biden’s private office….

The classified materials included some top-secret files with the “sensitive compartmented information” designation, also known as SCI, which is used for highly sensitive information obtained from intelligence sources.

There is no indication in the reporting that the Penn Biden Center had the type of elaborate security, including Secret Service protection, that the documents found at Mar-a-Lago had. U. Penn is a major recipient of Chinese communist donations.

And of course, as vice president Biden had no authority to declassify documents, unlike Trump who was president.

How irresponsible!

Team Biden has the talking points issued – We turned ourselves in, no biggie, we’re cooperating.

We’ll color me surprised!

So? Sorry..it’s January 2023 and such concerns are in the past and we must put them behind us. Oh… and where are classified documents safer… locked in Trump’s home or out in the open in “an office setting”?

And of course, as vice president Biden had no authority to declassify documents, unlike Trump who was president.

Unless 0bama gave him that authority, as W Bush gave it to Cheney.

Obama, who said of Biden, “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to @#$!! things up”…?

    Sounds legit. 😉

I doubt Obama would never have given him that authority. He knew Biden was a dim bulb and not to be trusted.

Obama wrote an EO laying out new protocols for handling Classified Documents.
At the very end, it exempted the President and Vice President from the order. Those two had no restrictions.
If that is true, than Biden would have the power to declassify.

But unlike Trump, who actually requested his document be declassified and got ignored, Biden, if he made the request, would have been honored and his documents would have been returned, cleared of all classification markings.

Constitutionally, if the President deems something declassified, is it, for all intents and purposes, declassified right then, or his authority contingent on a rubber stamp by some lesser bureaucrat somewhere later on. I think the former.

      DaveGinOly in reply to iowan2. | January 10, 2023 at 12:17 pm

Any “new protocols” would have been administrative rules for their handling. The protocols would still be controlled by law and dominated by the Constitution. The only way the VP gets the authority to declassify docs is if it is delegated to him by the POTUS. However, your post indicates the VP was “exempted” from those protocols. So no matter what the protocols said or did, the VP was ultimately “exempted”, so the protocols have no bearing on the instant situation. Biden was the VP. Unless POTUS delegated declassification authority to him, he didn’t have it.

President Trump’s order declassifying absolutely everything related to “russiagate” is still available on-line for all to see at WhiteHouse.gov

“Unless 0bama gave him that authority”
    In fact, he did.
Loretta Fuddy, of Hawaii’s Health Department, has already released the document to the media.

      diver64 in reply to henrybowman. | January 10, 2023 at 4:19 am

From the story above: ” It is unclear what the documents pertain to …”
How could you make that statement knowing the above or are you making a reference to Fuddy and Obama’s birth certificate? Maybe it’s early and I’m just dense

        henrybowman in reply to diver64. | January 10, 2023 at 12:25 pm

        That’s a… that’s… I say…that’s a joke, son!
Loretta Fuddy is in fact dead.
        Reportedly.
If you believe that hinkey death certificate.

Let’s check with 51 former intelligence officials.

Concise in reply to Milhouse. | January 10, 2023 at 9:54 am

To use that as a defense would be tantamount to admitting that their treatment of President Trump was completely unjustified. But they aren’t corrupt hypocrites for nothing so that may be brought up.

    Obie1 in reply to Milhouse. | January 10, 2023 at 2:30 pm

They would have stated that immediately had it been true.

It is an interesting conundrum. On one hand, no elected Democrat with power can be held to the law for anything unless on the other hand, there is a plot by others with power to remove him. Biden is making noises about running in 2024, and the powers-that-be may want to remove him before that. Add in that this has been known for months and only broke now, when Biden happens to be in Mexico,

Very interesting.

Subotai Bahadur

Going to see how fast the left changes the rules. 3…2…

C’mon man. It’s not the same thing.

Move along, folks. There’s nothing to see here.

Biden is like the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz with stuffing coming out all over the place. Tuck it in one side and it comes out the other.

But unlike the scarecrow, the stuffing is not straw but evidence of criminal activity. There is no telling how much criminal activity the Biden Crime Family has been involved in over the years. Biden is coming apart at the seams, evidence is scattered everywhere. It’s way past time the suspicisous straw be taken out and examined.

They ALWAYS accuse us of stuff they have done.

Steven Brizel | January 9, 2023 at 10:48 pm

Biden had zero constitutional or legal authority to take any documents and the spiking of this by the legacy media and the absence of any pre dawn raid on any of Biden’s residences snd offices after leaving office in 2016 says it all . This is yet more proof that Garlsnd is the consigliere of the Biden crime family

sold them to China?

No worries. NOTHING will happen. A record may be set by officials stating “I do not recall” Current record held by the Hildebeast, during Whitewater hearings. No evidence will be found, perhaps a few mistakes, all well intentioned. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Speaker McCarthy will write a very stern letter to someone. Rep. Mike Rogers will have to be pulled away from fighting the mailman to make him deliver it fast enough.

Nothing Democrats do is a crime, it’s only when Republicans do it it is

No, no, no…

It’s okay if a Democrat does it.

I wonder if Biden regime insiders pushed this story out to the media now because they know the House Republicans would discover it in their upcoming House investigations?

If Republicans had not won control of the House, I wonder if we ever would have known about this?

If we never knew about it, then the entire Resistance could continue their performative theatrics pretending that classified docs at MarALago was some traitorous act worse than the Rosenbergs feeding nuclear secrets to the USSR. It’s going to be hard to sell that now. Though the worst among them will try.

Oops. The spin has already begun. Once again the d/prog will attempt to sell the idea that when they do something it’s ok. After all they have ‘pure and virtuous’ motives as contrasted with the r who have ‘malign’ motives and ‘bad’ intentions.

Wild speculation on my part: Dems have always known Joe was dirty, especially with the Chinese, and they’ve decided it’s time for him to go.

These files were found in his Think Tank which has received money from China in the past.

He’ll be told to resign for health reasons or run the risk of everything about him, Hunter, and China comes out into the public.

They have to deal with Kamala first, no way she is ready for the top spot, she is not as controllable as Biden.

      artichoke in reply to buck61. | January 12, 2023 at 9:31 pm

Why do you say she’s not controllable? She’s been generally incompetent her whole career, and she rose to the Senate and then VP. She’s surely very good at taking orders. I don’t know who her backers are, but we’d probably find out she’s worse than Biden.

Biden is super-corrupt, but he’s anti-woke at the core. I don’t know of anything good to say about Harris.

There must be a war behind the scenes now among the backers of these various people: Biden, Harris, and anyone who might get slotted in in place of Harris. Even Kevin McCarthy, who is now 2nd in line! Interesting that this matter went nuclear just AFTER McCarthy got in as Speaker.

Ironclaw in reply to TheOldZombie. | January 11, 2023 at 2:21 pm

Of course they did. That allows control, wouldn’t want someone to do something on their own and accidentally do something good would they?

It’s just Joe. What’s another felony or two?

The Fox host burbles, “Why do all these ex-presidents and veeps take home classified stuff? Why can’t they just leave them in the national archives?”

“The whole ‘who shot John’ [JFK] thing, is Eisenhower to blame? Is Johnson to blame? Is Kennedy to blame? Is Nixon to blame? Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, may become, may become, not by me, but may become a very, very vigorous issue. If it does, uh, I need to know what is necessary to protect our inquiries, the intelligence gathering, and the ‘Dirty Tricks Department.’ And I will protect it. Hey listen, I’ve done more than my share of lying to protect it. I will go, I believe it’s totally right to do it.”
–RICHARD NIXON TO ROBERT HELMS (CIA), ON TAPE

Yeah, I’d bring home a few “insurance riders” mydamnself.

artichoke in reply to henrybowman. | January 12, 2023 at 9:27 pm

And Nixon was a Boy Scout. He was so careful he called anything slightly outside the lines “dirty tricks”. Nothingburgers compared to what Biden and Obama, and the deepstate against Trump, have shoved in our faces for years now.

Hillary had 32,000+ emails on a private server in her bathroom. Thousands of the emails were Classified, several hundred were Top Secret and a few were “eyes only” for POTUS.

When Congress subpoenaed these emails, she destroyed them. Then, bleach-bit the hard drive so they couldn’t be recovered.

No FBI raid.

Obama’s got millions of documents, many classified, stored in a former furniture warehouse with zero security.

Bill Clinton was actually prosecuted for having audio tapes, with classified information being discussed, “stored” in his sock drawer. The ruling in that case, in Clinton’s favor, should have prevented DOJ/FBI from ever bothering to raid Mar a Lago.

But we don’t live in a Nation of Laws any longer. We are a Banana Republic in which the DOJ/FBI functions entirely as the D Party’s Gestapo.

I like how DOJ – with the AG personally signing off – had FBI raid Mar a Lago in the lead up to a midterm despite longstanding policy of delaying such action that might influence an election, but yet they knew about Biden having these classified documents and kept that a secret until after the election.

We don’t know that those documents were kept at the Penn-Biden center in some drawer with nobody seeing them. That’s just where they were when the lawyers went looking. They could have been over in China, then returned when the trail got hot after them. They could have been anywhere, seen by anyone. Unlike Trump’s mansion, the Penn-Biden Center surely doesn’t have extensive security. A janitor might have seen them just by accident if that’s where they were.

Hm actually we know the documents were NOT always kept at the Penn-Biden Center, because the Penn-Biden Center did not even exist while Biden was VP. It opened in 2018. https://global.upenn.edu › penn-biden-center

So they were at least one other place. Biden’s house? Ukraine? The possibilities are endless, because we have no security and no chain-of-custody. When evaluating breaches of security, you don’t assume everything is OK if you don’t know. You assume something bad probably happened.
