Stacey Abrams is not gifted with oratory skills.
For some reason, she is still peddling the lie that Georgia is suppressing the black vote. This despite her group losing their lawsuit alleging the same thing and a huge uptick in early voting.
Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams argued Saturday on MSNBC that higher voter turnout does not mean voter suppression is not taking place, saying that “people turned out early because they understand that [GOP Gov.] Brian Kemp and [Georgia secretary of state] Brad Raffensburger put barriers in place.””[Voters] know that there have been more difficulties put in place for absentee ballots, that white supremacist groups and hard-right-wing groups have been challenging people’s right to vote,” Abrams said. “We know that people turned out early because they understand that [Reupblicans] put barriers in place.””Let’s be clear, the false narrative that voter turnout has felled the idea of voter suppression misunderstands the effectiveness of suppression,” she said. “It has never been about stopping all voters. It is about clogging the arteries of the process and stopping certain voters. There is a precision to voter suppression.”
In sticking to this non-starter, Abrams either reveals her true feelings about black men or inadvertently calls them too stupid to know what is good for them (i.e. her). It’s surreal.
I honestly have no idea what this means, and I suspect that she doesn’t, either. Black men are targeted with ‘misinformation’ about . . . “why they want what they deserve”? Bizarre.

STACEY ABRAMS: Black men have increased their participation rates by 52% over 2018, and I do not believe that is because of a deep-welled enthusiasm for my opponent. We know black voters are often discounted. Unfortunately, this year black men have been a very targeted population for misinformation [Not misinformation about what they want but] about why they want what they deserve. My campaign has been the only one that has intentionally, thoughtfully, and consistently reached out. That has been misconstrued as concern, when really it is just respect. I know I’m not entitled to a single vote. I have to work for every vote I get. And I’ve worked very hard to engage black voters because I know they are the cornerstone to victory in the state of Georgia.
Presumably, as she is using this as her precuse for (most likely) losing on Tuesday, the ‘misinformation’ has confused black men so much that they aren’t voting/turning out for her as they should . . . despite the “voter suppression” keeping them away while increasing their participation by 52%? Nonsensical.
