Back in 2020, then-president Trump moved to ban Tik Tok in the U.S. citing national security and privacy concerns.

Last week, President Trump issued two executive orders seeking to ban Chinese apps TikTok and WeChat on grounds of national security. The presidential order[s] require these China-based apps to find new buyers in 45 days or shut down their U.S. operation. The move came after U.S. officials repeatedly warned [the] public against using TikTok and other Chinese apps citing privacy and security concerns.
This perfectly sensible move resulted in Tik Tok users attempting to shut down Trump merchandise sites. Tik Tok users also attempted to sabotage sign-ups for a Trump rally, a move cheered by radical progressive socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY).
Nothing really came of Trump’s dire warnings, but suddenly Democrat Sen. Mark Warner (VA) admits that Trump was right.

Mark Warner, D-Va., says former President Donald Trump “was right” to go after the China-owned video-sharing app TikTok.Warner made the comments during an appearance on Fox News Sunday, telling host Shannon Bream that the app represents a major threat to Americans’ privacy. He also warned parents against allowing their children to download the app on their phones.”Well, I think Donald Trump was right. I mean, TikTok is an enormous threat,” Warner told Bream. “So, if you’re a parent, and you’ve got a kid on TikTok, I would be very, very concerned. All of that data that your child is inputting and receiving is being stored somewhere in Beijing.”
