DeSantis Slams Newsom for Requesting Probe into Martha’s Vineyard Migrant Flights

Laughably, Newsom is now challenging DeSantis to a debate.

The battle between California Governor Gavin Newsom and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues, despite Newsom’s continued failure to gain any traction against his Sunshine State counterpart.

In the wake of the magnificent move by DeSantis to ship 50 migrants to the elite enclave of Martha’s Vineyard, Newsom asked the Department of Justice to look into whether sending migrants to other parts of the country constituted kidnapping or other federal crimes.

In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Newsom asked whether actions by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sending illegal immigrants from their respective states to destinations such as New York City, Washington, D.C. Chicago, and Martha’s Vineyard were illegal.

“Several of the individuals who were transported to Martha’s Vineyard have alleged that a recruiter induced them to accept the offer of travel based on false representations that they would be transported to Boston and would receive expedited access to work authorization,” Newsom wrote. “I urge US DOJ to investigate whether the alleged fraudulent inducement would support charges of kidnapping under relevant state laws.”

Newsom’s approach is disturbing, especially given Biden’s recent speech demonizing half the country. However, DeSantis is unfazed and slammed the California governor.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Gov. Gavin Newsom’s “hair gel is interfering with his brain function,” after the California governor requested the Department of Justice investigate Florida, and other states, for potential “kidnapping” crimes by flying out illegal immigrants to other parts of the country.

DeSantis made the remarks at a news conference Friday in Daytona Beach, Florida, one day after Newsom sent a letter asking Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate whether DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s actions sending illegal immigrants from their states to destinations such as New York City, Washington, D.C. Chicago and Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts are illegal.

…”So the Governor of California sent a letter to the Department of Justice saying, ‘You need to prosecute Texas and Florida Governors.’ And all I can say is, I think his hair gel is interfering with his brain function,” DeSantis said Friday.

DeSantis also indicated he was happy to send the migrants to “greener pastures“.

Speaking at a press conference Thursday, DeSantis criticized President Joe Biden for allowing “millions and millions of people” and illegal drugs, including fentanyl, to enter the U.S. illegally. DeSantis said he would help migrants reach so-called “sanctuary jurisdictions,” states and cities that limit their cooperation with federal authorities to deport immigrants.

“If you have folks that are inclined to think Florida is a good place, our message to them is, we are not a sanctuary state, and it’s better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction,” he said. “And yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you to be able to go to greener pastures.”

Laughably, Newsom is challenging DeSantis to a debate.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) challenged Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to a debate on Friday, following Democrats’ outrage over DeSantis’s decision to charter two planes of migrants that landed in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.

…Newsom and DeSantis are both running for reelection this year, and DeSantis is considered a top potential presidential candidate for the GOP in 2024. Speculation has also swirled about Newsom running for the Democratic nomination amid doubts that President Biden will run for a second term.

Given all the serious problems California has, perhaps Newsom would be better off not focusing as much on Florida.

What a f-ked up world we live in

Newsome is campaigning for the Dems 2024 candidate for POTUS.

Given how extraordinarily weak and/or old the Dem field is he probably thinks he has a good shot at getting the nomination.

However, he’s shallow, not too bright, and intellectually slow. DeSantis would eat him alive in a ‘debate’. But DeSantis shouldn’t bother to do anything other than occasionally swat the gnat until the fall of 2024, or 2028, whichever comes first.

I’d love to see Trump destroy Governor Hair Gel in a ‘debate’. The NYC street fighter in Trump could reduce the effeminate ex-SF mayor to stumbling bumbling gibberish. Possibly even literally to tears. No one would have ever talked to him like that in his entire sheltered privileged liberal life.

True that, Trump would be hilarious, the corrupt media couldn’t save him

Hair Gel also has severe dyslexia. All of his press appearances are done without notes or teleprompters. He practices answering questions from a fawning CA press so he is never pressed hard to elaborate. But he buys time with his circumlocutory style of speaking where, like Kamala Harris, he anchors his comments on favorite words that he likes to repeat. Words like mindful, cohorts, and the occasional word no has ever heard before. He never actually answers a question directly. He’s not as good at it as Mayor Butt Edge Edge either who is a master of slick word salads that don’t mean anything, someone he would probably have to debate in the primaries.

He also has the very same advisors as Kamala which will be tricky.

“Newsom asked the Department of Justice to look into whether sending migrants to other parts of the country constituted kidnapping or other federal crimes.”

But, of course… “when the president does it, it’s legal.”

I’m now waiting for the retort from DeSantis to Newsom on a challenge to debate:

“Bring it on, name the time and place and I’ll be there”..

Then sit back and wait for Newsom to muster up a vapid diversion of some other self-inflated something or other.

      He’ll start a forest fire

“Bring it on, name the time and place and I’ll b there” is about the dumbest thing DeSantis could say.

Nobody should accept CNN as a debate platform, and Gavin Newsom is not Ron DeSantis’ opponent either, and even if he was forfeiting all of your leverage over the debate is stupid in any circumstance.

This is such a farce and will go nowhere.

Gutfeld regular Tyrus nailed it when he said something to the effect of “I don’t know what is feels like to be kidnapped since I’ve never been kidnapped but they were giving reporters these (thumbs up with big smiling faces) when they boarded the bus and these (thumbs up with a big excited “wow!” expression) when they arrived at Martha’s Vineyard!”

Every time governor Hair Gel opens his mouth, he makes an ass of himself.

If either Trump or DeSantis is the nominee in 2024, and the Dem nominee is Newsom, the Republicans have a secret weapon – Kimberly Guilfoyle. She’s Newsom’s ex. She knows ALL the ways to tweak and annoy Gavin, how to slip the knife in – figuratively speaking, of course.

Gruesome wants to replace Bidet and thinks Desantis will be the republican nominee so he wants to engage him on
anything but how they run their states.

DeSantis’s campaign quick response director Christina Pushaw’s reply to Gov Hair Gel was epic

“Thirst post all you want. You’re not getting those U-Hauls back.”

Newsom is a field snitch for various agencies, a real greasy secret agent man.

I would pay good money to watch Desantis debate Newsom. Desantis would crush him.

    With CNN moderation?

Those are the Newsom terms and the moderator has a way to really rig the debate in a way the audience finds highly convincing (remember 2012?).
