Whistleblowers Detail FBI, DOJ Effort to Discredit Negative Info on Hunter Biden Starting Before 2020 Election

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland that “highly credible whistleblowers” detail efforts at the FBI and DOJ to downplay or discredit any negative information about Hunter Biden.

Hunter became a liability when Biden was the frontrunner in the Democratic primary because of his cushy position on the Burisma board when Dad was vice-president. Grassley then started a probe in August 2019 over the sale of “a sensitive U.S. technology company to the Chinese government and an investment firm run by the sons of Joe Biden and John Kerry.”

Since then, we’ve seen outstanding American citizen Hunter Biden shine in the media in videos with prostitutes while crying to Dad for money to go to drug rehab, shady deals with China, tax fraud, etc.

The effort to downplay the negative information began in 2020 before the election. It’s almost like the Biden campaign knew more information would come to light:

First, it’s been alleged that the FBI developed information in 2020 about Hunter Biden’s criminal financial and related activity. It is further alleged that in August 2020, FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten opened an assessment which was used by an FBI Headquarters (“FBI HQ”) team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease. Base on allegations, verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation. The basis for how the FBI HQ team selected the specific information for inclusion in Auten’s assessment is unknown, but in more than one instance the focus of the FBI HQ team’s attention involved derogatory information about Hunter Biden. accordingly, the allegations provided to my office appear to indicate that there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.

Hunter’s life fully entered the public in October 2020 when the New York Post reported a trove of information taken from his laptop he left at a computer shop.

Biden and the MSM immediately went Russia, Russia, Russia, including letters from 51 intelligence experts.

Grassley wrote:

Third, in October 2020, an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed at the discretion of ASAC [Timothy] Thibault. My office has been made aware that FBI agents responsible for this information were interviewed by the FBI HQ team in furtherance of Auten’s assessment. It’s been alleged that the FBI HQ team suggested to the FBI agents that the information was at risk of disinformation; however, according to allegations, all of the reporting was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants. In addition, ASAC Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required by FBI guidelines. Despite the matter being closed in such a way that the investigative avenue might be opened later, it’s alleged that FBI officials, including ASAC Thibault, subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future.

The whistleblowers came forward after Grassley sent Garland and Wray a letter on May 31, inviting anyone with information to come forward to report “allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and gross mismanagement by FBI and Justice Department (‘Department’) officials including, but not limited to, ASAC Thibault.”

Grassley listed many demands of Wray and Garland by Aust 8. Demands include:

The letter also singled out Justice Department official Richard Pilger, identified as the director of the Election Crimes Branch within the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section, who, along with Thibault, were alleged to be “deeply involved in the decisions to open and pursue this investigation,” an apparent reference to a probe recently opened into the Trump campaign.Grassley told Wray and Garland “the opening memo you approved,” included media reporting citing research from a “liberal non-profit” when a full investigation of a political nature requires “a heightened factual basis.”

“If these allegations are true and accurate, the Justice Department and FBI are – and have been – institutionally corrupted to their very core to the point in which the United States Congress and the American people will have no confidence in the equal application of the law,” Grassley wrote.

The letter makes me wonder how far up the tree the plan went within the DOJ. August 2020, so it started during Trump’s administration.

I know the letter points to Pilger, but who else knew in the DOJ? Are any of them still in the DOJ?
