The Democratic Party Went Woke, is Now Going Broke

“Meanwhile, leaning into increasing concerns about inflation and the economy, Republicans are amassing a coalition of working-class voters”

A significant shift is taking place in the American political landscape. While the Democratic party is becoming more white, more female, and more educated, the Republican party is becoming a more racially diverse, working-class party.

The irony is delicious. Democrats love to accuse Republicans of being white supremacists, yet it is the Democratic party that’s becoming more white.

Axios seems surprised by this news:

1 big thing: Seismic shift

Democrats now have a bigger advantage among white college graduates than they do with nonwhite voters, Axios’ Josh Kraushaar writes from a New York Times/Siena College poll.

Why it matters: We’re seeing a political realignment in real time.

  • Democrats are becoming the party of upscale voters concerned more about issues like gun control and abortion rights.
  • Republicans are quietly building a multiracial coalition of working-class voters, with inflation as an accelerant.

What’s happening: House Republicans boast this year’s class of new candidates is the most diverse in history.

  • The NRCC notes that 29 of its 75 House targets have a Hispanic population over 15%.

One of the reasons for this is the economy, but it also has to do with people not wanting to be told they’re committing violence if they don’t believe men can get pregnant.

The Daily Wire has more on this:

A New York Times/Siena College poll released Tuesday found that Democrats have a greater advantage with white college graduates than they do with nonwhite voters — and these voters are more concerned with fiercely debated issues like gun control and abortion.

Meanwhile, leaning into increasing concerns about inflation and the economy, Republicans are amassing a coalition of working-class voters in what Axios dubbed a “political realignment in real time.”

A Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Wednesday found that since Joe Biden took office, the average American worker lost $3,400 in their annual income due to the accelerating inflation, reported Fox Business.

“There are plenty of families that that’s more than their food budget a year,” E.J. Antoni, a research fellow at The Heritage Foundation, told Fox Business. “I can’t emphasize enough how much this is really crushing consumers.”

Glenn Greenwald has a great breakdown of what’s happening here:

The Democratic party seems content to be ruled by the loudest, most woke voices on Twitter, and that’s just fine.

Millions of Americans will just go another way.

Make the Dems defend their wokeness.

They’re not going to bother: rather, they’re going to incite enormous violence.

There’s going to be an insurrection: us versus the left and our hijacked governnment.

      > rather, they’re going to incite enormous violence.
And then blame conservatives (and any people who will deny the existence of pregnant men) of causing that violence.

Remember the lefties chanting about Trump: “He will not divide us”? Well he didn’t; the leftists did and continue to do so while accusing conservatives of being divisive.

Stopping now; I can feel my blood pressure rising.

Agreed, but also don’t be complacent. Mark Kelly is raking in millions because the Arizona GOP does not even have a candidate picked yet for that senate seat. Don’t assume the Dems will lose without doing the prep work to make them lose.

That’s really an unfair characterization. The Republicans need to hold an August primary, whereas the incumbent Democrat does not.

Unless you think that the state RINO party should just choose a candidate ahead of time all by themselves, and to hell with the voters. And I’ll remind you that is exactly how we got stuck forever with John McCain.

With the massive influx of potential Democrat voters, the uninformed and unenlightened average voters, the wishy washy independent voters and the older voters (who will vote Democrat till the day they die (and many years thereafter) I don’t see the Democrat party going broke any time soon.

The Gateway Pundit reported that early voting started in Arizona and Democrats are doing everything in their power to steal another election from laid back Republicans.

Not laid back. In on it.

If Republicans don’t learn to play the same game, then do they deserve to win?

Arguably, the last 2 years heartache was helped by Trump, whom I consider responsible for losing both Georgia seats (in the special election) and the Senate in 2020. He may do it again in 2022, if Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania and Herschel Walker in Georgia lose.

They’ll have no one to enrich them if their freshly groomed studies grads have huge debt and no job.

This is one of the big reasons behind the loan forgiveness push. Dems will expect to be paid back for the favor.

“….This is one of the big reasons behind the loan forgiveness push. Dems will expect to be paid back for the favor.”

Exactly right!! Like the socialist Posse in the House who owe a ton of loan debt, they are feathering their own bed and buying indoctrinated libturd loyalty. They attended over-priced private universities with overpaid leftist instructors and they want to bankrupt the rest of us who were responsible and worked our way through school at state universities.

Delivering for your voters is one of the basics of politics. Why hasn’t Dementia Joe delivered on this one? Maybe he will do it after the Midterms.

Of those white college graduates that are Democrats, a breakdown of degrees would prove interesting. What percentage are STEM, what percentage Styrofoam?

Once upon a time people went to college to become better educated. Now, at least in the liberal arts ( and even increasingly in STEM courses) they just become more indoctrinated – effectively, the longer they stay, the stupider they get.

I’m white, with both bachelors and masters degrees. I apparently did learn to think, because there is virtually nothing the democrat party stands for that makes any sense to me at all. Correlation is not causation, thee must be more to it Maybe because most bureaucrats have college degrees? And all the deep staters send all their kids to the right schools and then they join the family business of government? As well as trial lawyers and “scientists” feeding at the funding grant trough? Broken down by age? My degrees are from 1980 and 86, maybe before the leftists fully took over academia?

I now identify as a transgender lesbian. Which means I’m still chasing the same women. I’m very confused…

Does anyone really think that today’s college graduates are “educated” in the real sense of the word?

In fact, they are largely White privileged, Government supported, brainwashed automatons who support every maniacal view of their Democrat sponsors.

Truth told, in the last 20+ years I have found non-college propagandized folks far more educated than these White privileged zealots – and the former are energized to vote to protect their jobs, income, and families.

Read Little Town on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder – in one chapter she describes a school exhibition she did at age 15. I challenge any college graduate to repeat her feat. Seriously. I doubt a math major could do her math problems or an English major to imitate her correct grammar and syntax. Not to mention her ability to recite American history.

henrybowman in reply to Morning Sunshine. | July 14, 2022 at 11:07 pm

I was fascinated to learn only recently of the familial connection between Laura Ingalls Wilder and her only child, Rose Wilder Lane, one of the founders of American libertarianism.

Years ago I saw a 9th grade test from near the turn of the 20th century. I couldn’t answer half the questions (graduated HS in 1976), so I doubt any recent college graduate could answer one.

That also explains how our grandparents and great grandparents, many of whom didn’t go to school past 6th or 9th grade, were so much smarter and could do so many more useful things than most people today.

I’ve always required my students to read the Federalist Papers and they tell me it makes stimulating reading. But they say it’s the most difficult thing they’ve ever had to read in their entire academic careers. I can’t resist the Opportunity to comment on that a little bit. I usually tell them that there’s a reason they find it difficult.

The Federalist Papers were written for a very elite audience—the farmers of 18th century New York—to encourage them to support the Constitution I tell my students: “You can’t expect to equal the farmers of 18th century New York because you’ve had twelve years of schooling here and some of you have been stunted still further by four years in a university. But if you really pull yourselves up by the boot straps, you might be able to remotely approach the level of academic sophistication of the farmers of 18th century New York.” Some of my students come close.

There is a hilarious sketch about Beavis and Butthead learning about white privilege and what they do with it. (I could not have watched mare than a few minutes. Normally too stooopid.) Check out this URL: https://legalinsurrection.com/2022/06/video-beavis-and-butthead-learn-about-white-privilege/

Pay no attention the woke, white, college credentialed, progressive yet desperately unhappy, zanex and wine gulping, woman behind the curtain…..pulling the strings
of the modern d/prog party who sees herself as the savior for the downtrodden but especially POC, Latinx, trans and whatever flavor of the month the Atlantic tells them about. You don’t think they actually interact with any of these people other than their nanny, maid and gardener did you?

Whenever I remind a Democrat that slavery, segregation, Jim Crow, and the KKK were 100% Democrat institutions, they lay some story on me about how the two parties “changed sides” sometime around the ’60s. I laugh at them and refer to their bullshit story as “Halftime in America.”

But if they are right and I am wrong, what does this mean? It means that now that Halftime in America is happening again… they are once more the party of slavery, oppression, and terrorism.

Politics can occasionally be fun if you do it right.

“While the Democratic party is becoming more white, more female, and more educated…”

More educated in hysterical bullshit perhaps. They can not explain why:
1) The lights come on when you flip the switch
2) The water comes out of the faucet when the faucet is turned on
3) The air is cool coming out the vent when the AC is “on”
4) Why the sun comes up in the east each morning, or why the length of each day is changing

Is it that we are winning minority voters over or are we wining Hispanic voters over?

I didn’t see a single claim about large scale defections by Black or Asian voters which is strange considering that articles topic.

The social issues are also critical in attracting Hispanic voters. 2020 saw a major uptick in Hispanic votes for the GOP, and they did not defect because they want Jeff Bezos’ taxes to go down by half a percent or they are eagerly praying to lower the corporate taxes 5%, neither did they defect because they want to get rid of paying 30-60 dollars a month on Obamacare for paying a 1000 dollars a month they defected because of social issues.

Run from social issues and yes you are running away from working class voters. Unions have accidentally given elections to Republicans by busing in socially conservative but economically liberal working class voters to the polls who then voted for the socially conservative republican.

Dealing with inflation is important right now, but so are the social issues. LI has covered social issues a lot as has well everyone on the right. I am not pretending they don’t matter or that we don’t care about them or that caring about education, radical gender theory, CRT or illegal immigration makes me out of touch.

The Left abandoned the working class decades ago and adopted fascist identity politics.
