Professor Jordan Peterson Rejoins Academia as Chancellor of Ralston College

Professor Jordan Peterson left his tenured position at the University of Toronto in January, citing the school’s destructive diversity and inclusion policies.
Peterson is now returning to higher education in an administrative role as the chancellor of Ralston College in Georgia.
Ralston is a fairly new school, having been formed in 2006, but it has been granted the power to award degrees by the state.

Dr. Jordan Peterson announced Thursday that he accepted an appointment as the Chancellor of Ralston College in Savannah, Georgia. Ralston described Peterson as “a distinguished scholar and psychologist, a renowned defender of freedom of thought and speech, and a teacher and mentor to millions around the world.”
Peterson posted the announcement to Twitter and said, “With the efforts of the very able president Dr. Stephen Blackwood we hope to fashion a truly classic liberal arts institution.”

The school’s founder and President Stephen Blackwood says students cannot engage in meaningful dialogue on modern university campuses.
“It is no secret that the integrity of higher education in the United States has become questionable — not least because most colleges and universities are no longer places where freedom of inquiry, and the freedom of speech on which free inquiry depends, are protected, let alone celebrated,” Blackwood told Philanthropy Roundtable in February. “Nevertheless, our vocation is not [to] critique, but to show another way.”
Ralston has partnered with the online education platform FutureLearn to offer abridged college courses to more than 15 million students in 200 countries.

I have really enjoyed Professor Jordan Peterson’s presentation of what I consider the right outlook. It is great we are seeing universities rejecting the wave of destruction overwhelming traditional universites. How many of these startup universities are there?
Hopefully, he can put out a sentence without the use of 30 qualifiers and parenthetical points, including the use of the descriptive “Pareto distribution.”
If you were alive then, you’d probably say about Einstein: “Hopefully, he can put out a sentence without the use of mathematical qualifiers, including the German accent.”
The thing that matters about him, and it’s the thing that scares his opponents so much, is that you’re welcome to tell him you disagree with how he frames his arguments.
He’ll listen. He’ll respond. He won’t tell you to shut up and try and block your voice.
I can forgive complex sentence construction because it’s his way of trying to achieve clarity of what he’s saying, and what he isn’t saying, but frankly what he’s saying isn’t what matters. That he’s willing to hear disagreement is.
Doing the job that American professors won’t do. Go Jordan.

I wish him well on his road to recovery. Too bad he must settle for a brand new experimental college offering almost no courses.
Or lucky for all of us that a free speech advocating truth seeker is in place to build a new core for teaching western thought. A place without embedded bad actors that are nearly impossible to remove. A place that with luck will never offer a “Studies” degree.
Perhaps in 10-15 years it will be prestigious and the Ivies will be forced to move toward truth to be competitive.
Maybe a future Hillsdale College of the South.
They tried to censor him so he quit and started an unending lecture tour that spread across the world. now his books have become text references and his acolytes are spreading his word, while the university that tried to limit him got the real limiting. One of his trademarks is not saying you are wrong but instead saying “that is not right” and then launching into a rock solid rebuttal.
