Israeli Defense Minister: Iran “Weeks Away” From Enriching Enough Uranium Needed For a Nuclear Bomb
Defense Minister Benny Gantz: Iran “stands just a few weeks away from accumulating fissile material that will be sufficient for a first bomb.”
While President Joe Biden’s administration continues to pin its hopes on reviving the Obama-Kerry nuclear deal, Iran is weeks away from enriching enough uranium and other material required to build its first bomb, the Israeli defense minister disclosed.
Iran “stands just a few weeks away from accumulating fissile material that will be sufficient for a first bomb,” Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Tuesday. The regime “holds 60 kg of enriched material at 60%, produces metallic uranium at the enrichment level of 20%, and prevents the IAEA from accessing its facilities,” he explained.
As Biden White House plans to restart the talks with Iran early next month, the regime is expanding its nuclear weapons program, which includes constructing a new underground site at the Natanz nuclear facility in central Iran, the Israel defense minister added.
The Israeli news outlet Ynet reported the defense minister’s revelations:
Defense Minister Benny Gantz warned Tuesday that Iran has made significant strides vis-à-vis its nuclear program, partly by installing advanced uranium centrifuges at new sites near its Natanz nuclear facility.
Speaking at a conference by the Institute for Policy and Strategy at Reichman University, the defense minister said that “Iran is making an effort to complete the manufacturing and installation of 1,000 additional advanced IR6 centrifuges in its nuclear facilities, including new facilities being built at underground sites near Natanz”.
Gantz’s statement echoed a March 3 report by the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which stated that Iran had installed or planned to install a total of three IR6 cascades, amounting to around 660 machines – as well as IAEA chief Rafael Grossi’s April report, which stated that Iran had set up a new underground Natanz workshop for making centrifuge parts, an apparent precaution against attacks.
The Natanz nuclear facility, located in the central Iranian province of Isfahan, will be vital to any effort aimed at disrupting Iran’s rogue nuclear weapons program. The regime is investing heavily in expanding and fortifying the site. As Reuters reported in mid-April, “Iran is starting to operate a new workshop at Natanz that will make parts for uranium-enriching centrifuges with machines moved there from its now-closed Karaj facility, the U.N. nuclear watchdog [IAEA] said in a report.”
The Natanz nuke site, secured by Iran’s elite Islamic Guard (IRGC), has suffered serious security breaches in recent years. In April 2021, a mysterious blast caused massive damage, destroying newly-commission advanced centrifuges. According to a New York Times report at that time, the incident “dealt a severe blow to Iran’s ability to enrich uranium.” Nearly two months later, the Karaj nuclear facility in northern Iran, reportedly manufacturing centrifuges, was also hit by an explosion and sustained significant damage.
IDF Simulates ‘Widescale’ Strike on Iran Nukes Sites
Having little faith in the Biden administration’s ability to stop Iran from going nuclear, Jerusalem appears to be working on capabilities to take down Iran’s rogue nuke program on its own. The Israel Defense Forces are set to simulate a ‘widescale’ strike on targets across Iran, the Israeli media said on Tuesday.
The Times of Israel reported the planned IDF exercise:
The Israel Defense Forces will simulate conducting a widescale strike in Iran, during the military’s monthlong Chariots of Fire exercise.
The drill will take place in Cyprus during the fourth and final week of the exercise, starting May 29.
Last September, IDF chief Aviv Kohavi said the army had “greatly accelerated” preparations for action against Iran’s nuclear program.
According to previous Israeli media reports, the IDF is already working on “operational plans” to hit the Iranian nuclear facilities. In October 2021, the Israeli government approved $1.5 billion for such a strike.

The Israelis know that Biden has thrown them under the truck with the combined foreign policy of appeasement of Iran and far too many of the individuals appointed by Biden who deal with the Middle East clearly being blatantly biased against Israel
Then Israel knows what they must do
But, will they.
I hope they make an example of Iran by returning Iran to the stone age. That is what should have happened when they attacked our embassy. Destroy their power grid, all generation capacity, All their petroleum extraction and refining capacity and all water reservoirs. No help for any of them until the public rises up and exterminated their leaders.
Israel will try to take out the site with pinpoint accuracy.
Soetimes collateral damage is desirable. I am thinking fuel-air bombs enhanced with very hot radioactive waste. The world needs a good radioactive waste dump site.
No pinpoint. Make a huge crater so they have to rebuild EVERYTHING.
In my opinion, Iran is the most dangerous country in the world right now, a greater danger than Russia, or China. I hope that you are correct in your post about what Israel will do because the entire free world is in great danger with THAT country having a Nuclear bomb !
I was thinking along the line of a bunker buster bomb with a five kiloton warhead detonating below ground and collapsing all the underground facilities. It would deliver multiple messages: We want to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat but not cause wholesale destruction or loss of life.
Once you can claim a moral high ground, don’t squander it.
.
One thing certain about Israel–they will not go quietly into that long night. If they think there is a real threat to Israel from Iran, things will happen. They certainly rattle sabers, but they fully understand the precarious nature of their existence and will play for keeps.
IMO, the unanswerable question is: is this just more posturing or is it real? Israel will not allow Iran to get the bomb. Period.
Would Israel be willing to give Iran a nuke so that they could more fully understand their place in the scheme of things?
It’s come to this: WE know what we must do.
Everything I own is ON ISRAEL!
Off topic but I just had to post this, here’s hoping her tenure is very short
Ketanji-Brown Refuses to Condemn Supreme Court Leak, Refuses to Condemn Intimidating “Protests” of Justices at Their Homes
In an interview with the ultra-left Washington POst:
Q: What was your response when you when you saw the draft leak [of a Supreme Court opinion that would strike down Roe v. Wade]?
A: Everybody who is familiar with the court and the way in which it works was shocked by that. Such a departure from normal order.
Q: Do you think it was a good thing or a bad thing?
A: I can’t answer that.
Q: What do you think about peaceful protests outside of Supreme Court justices’ homes?
A: I don’t have any comment
She text all of the appropriate boxes, so that job is hers for as long as she wants it.
Someone should tell her that when she has to perform her judicial duties she actually has to form a legal opinion. I’m sure that day will be very difficult for her.
She is 51. Get used to her. She is going to be on the Court for a long time. 30 years, maybe more.
She’s an affirmative action/woke hire, and she happily advertises her ignorance and idiotcy – and her attitiude.
Shades of Michelle – ugh – Obama.
Biteme will do everything possible to prevent Israel from attacking Iran nukes. And if Jews proceed he will have Air Force shoot their planes down or NSA jam any corresponding cyber attack.
And 90% of US Jews will be good to go with all this.
A lot of them are still angry about restricted country clubs.
I liked the Groucho Marx quote.
I agree with Groucho completely. As far as the restricted clubs are concerned, why does anyone want to be or they’re not welcome?
The drinks are cheaper.
Not a lot of US air assets between Israel and Iran, though.
Bob – 90% of Jews will NOT be good to go with this. Most liberal Jews in America have lost their minds, and – as usual – are doing their best to get the rest of world Jewry killed.
3 things:
1) They’re not liberal, they’re Leftist; there is nothing liberal about them.
2) They are Jews only by an accident of birth; they have substituted the ideology of Leftism for the Torah of Moses.
3) It’s not 90% but more like 75%; for what its worth, these Jews by an accident of birth are assimilating out of existence, and are being replaced by Jews dedicated to observing the Torah of Moses, and who tend to be right-leaning.
1) Agreed.
2) Agreed.
3) Let us pray you’re right.

Thank Dictator Dementia and his pal Berry for this.
How many years have we heard that Iran was XX (fill in the number) weeks, months, years from having a bomb?
It took the US less than four years to build a bomb–and we didn’t even know it could be done. The science is well known. Places like North Korea and Pakistan have done it–both countries with a lot less resource than Iran.
Wolf, wolf, wolf.
How long do you think it would take Japan–if they haven’t already done it? Weeks? Months, at most.
A little too simplistic there. As for the U-235 “Little Boy”… yep…. everyone knows how to make on since ours was only “tested” on Hiroshima. Implosion is a little more of a challenge but with a few black market fuses and a good knowledge of explosives and …yep…. a “Fat Man” is possible. Its just that a U-235 bomb is SOOOO wasteful…
Little Boys kind of made a mess of downtown Hiroshima, You are correct that we didn’t test the U-235 bomb. Trinity was plutonium.
I think the Ukrainian-Russian war has a lot of nuclear bomb programs launched or re-launched. The US, allegedly the world’s most powerful military, has foresworn direct involvement because Russia has nukes.
Strong message, I suspect widely received.
If anyone is going to do anything about it, it’ll have to be Israel. Brandon the pedophile most certain wont, if he can even remember that Iran is a country and they’re not supposed to have nukes.
My guess is that Israel is moving on two different tracks, one to be able to destroy Iran on a moment’s notice and the other to be able to shoot down any rockets, so that an attack is not necessary, perhaps this reported new laser-based system. I doubt they will move first on some massive scale, unless they have no choice.
the israelis have one of the most highly trained, competent and effective military on this planet–supported by one of(if not THE)most capable intelligence/security services in existence
even more important, the israelis have the will and the determination to succeed–they will prevail in any exchange with iran regardless what the rest of the world(particularly fjb)says, thinks, does
They might prevail, but it’ll be another Holocaust for Jewry. Completely unnecessary. But, becasue this is Obama’s third term, Israel is in the crosshairs.
Anyone potentially downwind of either Iran or Israel should be absolutely raising hell about the possibility of Iran getting a bomb and be willing to do whatever is necessary to prevent it. Including assisting in striking to remove that threat.
What goes up must come down folks and the prevailing high level winds in the middle east and eastern Med flow from NE to SW. Lower level ones are seasonal and can go almost any direction.
Thanks to Obama and Biden’s America Last policies and unconstitutional Iran Nuclear “Deal,” we now have nuclear weapons in the hands of murderous fanatics. Hoping Israel will not let this stand.
Of all the countries in my opinion Iran is the most dangerous, with the craziest regime. They HATE the West with a passion, right along with the state of Israel. None of us are safe with a nuclear bomb in the hands of a crazed Leader, and that is what Iran has. I know people from Iran that call themselves “Persians” because they are so ashamed of the Leader of that country !
