House Passes ‘White Supremacism’ Domestic Terrorism Bill After Buffalo Shooting
The bill only mentions white supremacy and neo-Nazis because obviously, those are the only people who terrorize others.
I should say the bill passed along party lines because Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) isn’t a Republican.
A white supremacist, who should have been caught a long time ago, murdered 10 people and injured three people. He purposely targeted black people.
The Democrats used this opportunity to push through The Domestic Terrorism Act: “To authorize dedicated domestic terrorism offices within the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to analyze and monitor domestic terrorist activity and require the Federal Government to take steps to prevent domestic terrorism.”
Domestic terrorism only means white supremacy in this bill.
- Domestic Terrorism Unit in the Office of Intelligence and Analysis of the Department of Homeland Security
- Domestic Terrorism Office in the Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division of the Department of Justice.
- Domestic Terrorism Section within the Counterterrorism Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation
Reports submitted to Congress by said agencies will include (emphasis mine):
(A) an assessment of the domestic terrorism threat posed by White supremacists and neo-Nazis, including White supremacist and neo-Nazi infiltration of Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies and the uniformed services; and
(B) (i) in the first report, an analysis of incidents or attempted incidents of domestic terrorism that have occurred in the United States since January 1, 2012, including any White-supremacist-related incidents or attempted incidents; and
(ii) in each subsequent report, an analysis of incidents or attempted incidents of domestic terrorism that occurred in the United States during the preceding 6 months, including any White-supremacist-related incidents or attempted incidents;
The reports must also have the numbers for (emphasis mine):
(I) domestic terrorism related assessments initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including the number of assessments from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism;
(II) domestic terrorism-related preliminary investigations initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including the number of preliminary investigations from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism, and how many preliminary investigations resulted from assessments;
(III) domestic terrorism-related full investigations initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including the number of full investigations from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism, and how many full investigations resulted from preliminary investigations and assessments;
(IV) domestic terrorism-related incidents, including the number of incidents from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism, the number of deaths and injuries resulting from each incident, and a detailed explanation of each incident;
(V) Federal domestic terrorism-related arrests, including the number of arrests from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism, and a detailed explanation of each arrest;
(VI) Federal domestic terrorism-related indictments, including the number of indictments from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism, and a detailed explanation of each indictment;
(VII) Federal domestic terrorism-related prosecutions, including the number of incidents from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism, and a detailed explanation of each prosecution;
(VIII) Federal domestic terrorism-related convictions, including the number of convictions from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism, and a detailed explanation of each conviction; and
(IX) Federal domestic terrorism-related weapons recoveries, including the number of each type of weapon and the number of weapons from each classification and subcategory, with a specific classification or subcategory for those related to White supremacism; and
The training to combat domestic terrorism only mentions…you guessed it! White supremacy (emphasis mine):
(a) Required Training And Resources.—The Secretary, the Attorney General, and the Director shall review the anti-terrorism training and resource programs of their respective agencies that are provided to Federal, State, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies, including the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Program that is funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the Department of Justice, and ensure that such programs include training and resources to assist State, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies in understanding, detecting, deterring, and investigating acts of domestic terrorism and White supremacist and neo-Nazi infiltration of law enforcement and corrections agencies. The Attorney General shall make training available to Department prosecutors and to Assistant United States Attorneys on countering and prosecuting domestic terrorism. The domestic-terrorism training shall focus on the most significant domestic terrorism threats, as determined by the quantitative analysis in the joint report required under section 3(b).
The bill has been on the shelf for a while because Squad members wanted the lawmakers to have a specific definition of “domestic terrorist.”
I guess since it’s all about white supremacy and white men they don’t need a specific definition!
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler: “The Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, which sits before us today, is the least we can do to signal our opposition to White nationalism and this rising menace of organized intolerance.”
The Democrats never mentioned the black man who drove through the Christmas parade in Waukesha. They did not mention the riots and vandalism in the summer of 2020. I saw white people participate in those riots!

“This bill is dangerous because we’ve already seen the weaponization of the government,” Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio and the top Republican on the House Judiciary committee said Wednesday.
“We saw it in the IRS a few years ago. We’ve seen it in the FBI, as I just pointed out, most recently, the DOJ working with the FBI to go after parents. This bill formalizes what we’ve already seen. That’s why it’s so dangerous.”
“What happened in Buffalo, we know is wrong as wrong can be,” he said. “But this legislation wouldn’t prevent the terrible crime that took place there.”
Jordan is referring to Attorney General Merrick Garland telling the FBI and DOJ to monitor angry parents at school board meetings. The IRS targeted conservative groups during President Barack Obama’s terms.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA): “This bill glaringly ignores the persistent domestic terrorism threat from the radical left in this country and instead makes the assumption that it is all on the white and the right.”

They talk about “white supremacism” to get it passed then go back and alter the definition to suit them creating a totally different law.

Basically a law is passed with “language” that is open to interpretation, misleading or whatever. (basically a trojan bill to hide the true long term intent to get it passed)

Yes, exactly. White supremacists clearly exist, and in high enough numbers that they are a problem. We’ve seen them strike at least four times in the last few years — in Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Poway, and now Buffalo. And there are probably some I’ve forgotten about. So it’s not as if they’ve just disappeared and we don’t have to worry about them at all.
But compared to all the other things we have to worry about, their numbers are tiny. Speaking as a Jew in Hymietown, I’m far more concerned about black supremacists, jihadists, Marxist revolutionaries, and random non-ideological criminals than I am about neo-nazis.

Yes, really. There are of course degrees of white supremacy, but a white supremacist is someone who believes that white people are superior to all other races, and wants his country to be run by white people only, with all other races (including Jews) in a subservient role (whether slaves, dhimmis, or simply lesser people who know their place and stay in it, or are kept there by force).
This attitude used to be widespread in the USA. 100 years ago the Ku Klux Klan was huge and active. That is no longer the case. The KKK no longer exists in any meaningful sense, and I would guess that the number of active white supremacists in the USA, i.e. those who would bother turning out for a rally, let alone those who would commit a crime in its name, is less than 5,000. Certainly their rallies never seem to attract more than a dozen people.
However the Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Poway, and Buffalo shooters were all white supremacists, so it’s not yet time to relax about them completely. They clearly still do exist, and the few that remain are deadly.

First, a mere 5000 (ish) out of a population exceeding 350,000,000 isn’t a large threat ( armed or not)
As to the shooters, there’s a difference between people who “CLAIM” to be this and that (ally with a specific group) to make a statement and those who actually are.
I grew up back in the day with the Klan all around in the deep south- I don’t need a class on what the “real” ones are- I am a direct witness.
That’s why I can say with accuracy that most of these “claimers” are in fact posers because just like the originals- the “real” ones ( the dangerous ones) hide and you never know who they really are.
That puts these groups in their proper perspective. Just like the NOI using “Islam”, they are people filled with rage/hate for whatever then simply pick a movement/religion that justifies their actions then twist it to suit them.

The shooter in Buffalo is a murderous criminal. By all appearances he was also a known threat, having been unwillingly institutionalized by state police in a mental facility a year and a half ago for threatening to kill people at his high school. If true and found that this behavior and event were not present and flagged in the NCIS database, the people responsible for the oversight should be prosecuted, perhaps as accomplices.
Other examples abound. They include falsification of accusations against Donald Trump as the basis for justifying years of unjustified pursuit of the man by untold numbers of individuals ranging from high officials to drone bureaucrats in virtually every agency in our government. Surveilling someone is neither a search nor a seizure, and does not infringe the fourth amendment. It does not require a warrant, or even reasonable suspicion, let alone probable cause.

No, they’ve been clear that ideas are not crimes. This bill does not punish anyone for their ideas. All it does is direct various government agencies to devote resources to investigating and reporting on actual crimes committed by a minuscule sector of the population, and perhaps also to keeping an eye on that tiny sector in case they commit any crimes. Of course all these resources will be diverted from combating much more serious threats, with the likely result that terrorism attacks will increase. That’s the real problem with this.

Hold on, is being a white supremacist a crime? Sure it’s a very ugly viewpoint, but it’s not a crime. This looks mainly like a way to surveil the entire populace and look for any dissent, harass and try to prosecute the dissent even if there is no actual crime to prosecute.
