The Left Freaks Out at the Idea of Elon Musk Owning Twitter

It’s the end of the world, you guys. LITRALLY WWIII.

Free speech would die if Elon Musk takes over Twitter! It would literally be WWII! That’s the logic behind the left’s rage.

Enjoy these tweets. They speak for themselves.

Elon ripped the mask off, and it didn’t cost him a cent.

Well bless their hearts…

They are the quintessential, thin skinned bullies. They see it as perfectly fine to censor anything they dislike as hate speech and then whine and complain like small spoiled children when the tables just might be turned on them. Now the world is free so see how those demanding to control the direction of so many needed arguments are actually intellectual midgets who should be controlling nothing.

‘…..who should be controlling nothing’; other than their appointment schedule for their mental health services. These narcissists can’t function without the universe being forced to conform to their ideology.

I always got a kick out telling my adolescents that their mother and I might occasionally care when they were mad, the the rest of the world did not.

Censorship and Propaganda are necessary cornerstones of Progressive Politics.

“If Elon succeeds, a mass exodus from Twitter is appropriate.”
I’m telling you guys… for sun, socialism, and censorship, you can’t beat Cuba.

“Right wing lunatics may despise us and the standards of civility we expect, but the truth is — their social media networks fail without us.”

    Let’s go to the record.
Air America, Gawker, CNN+… all it took to crater them was their own lameness.
Rush Limbaugh ran 37 years and could be stopped by nothing short of literal cancer.
Lefties deliberately sabotaged right-wing social media startups in fear they would succeed.
It’s clear that the only way they can “compete” is by forcibly silencing the competition.
Once they can’t do that, their offerings dissolve like slugs in the sun.

CommoChief in reply to henrybowman. | April 15, 2022 at 10:30 am

Exactly. Which is why the usual suspect line-up of neocons; Kristol, French, Brock, Frum, who previously were very vocal about ‘muh free market, muh private company isn’t censoring, get your own platform’ are also joining the parade of overly sensitive weirdos in opposition to Musk.

All of them are frauds. They know that in a competition of ideas that they will lose. These grifters, just like the corporate media, fear that if Twitter can be used by the populist right it will break their hold on the transmission of ideas. They don’t believe in free speech, they believe in their speech and anyone who disagrees should be silenced.

There was a huge push back in the twitterverse against those hypocrites..
Good times. I can’t wait to see plan B..

Leftism is truly a mental illness.

What Elon has exposed is the Intelligence Community ownership and direction of twatter. Check out the nice piece on Conservative Treehouse about the non-sustainable business that is twatter. The infrastructure to do what they do is not and never will be profitable. The IC had been the driving force. It’s how they induce “mob” rule and control every narrative. Don’t forget how The Lightbringer used it to foment the Arab Spring. Elon pulled the mask off. Oh and by the way, DOJ and SEC opened investigations of Elon as soon as he made the takeover offer. Coincidence? Not on your life!!

All I can say…
“Jesus Christ, are these people insane?”

Wait? The Washington Post are worried about rich people controlling media?

Sorry, let me rephrase. Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post is worried about rich people controlling media?

As much as I dislike Musk I will agree he’s providing entertainment.

Could there exist a group of less self aware people? It is just so unfair that the light of day might reduce their ability to interfere in elections through information or opinion suppression. /s

IMO Twitter giving employees a day off to deal with their feelings suggests what a mess and sabotage Musk may face if he is successful in taking over the company and how important it is for the country that he not give up on his $3B investment and takeover offer. However, the stock trading yesterday at $45 for an all cash $54 offer says that big money is currently betting the offer will fail. I am a little less pessimistic, as a fair all-cash offer may be legally a problem for their Board to turn down in a very sick stock market for tech stocks.

The game is just getting started. Yesterday, Musk spoke at a TED event and trashed the Saudis for rejecting his bid.

They are looking to push the bid higher but Musk trashed them for their barbaric view of freedom of speech. He should have rephrased that as “freedom of ALL personal freedoms”. Anyway, the issue was price.

Another comment he made concerned the questions surfacing about his liquidity. He offered that although he could afford to buy Twitter outright, he “doesn’t like the economics” of how he would have to do it. That suggests that he is pressing certain hidden parties to get into the fray. He needs OPM “other people’s money”.

This supports the notion that his bid was HIS final offer which didn’t rule out that OPM might be Plan B. It’s well know that Tesla people aren’t keen on his extracurricular activities because of how it affects them and Musk cares about Tesla and what his people think. Considering his objective is not necessarily to own Twitter but to change the ownership to take them private, there are other options.

Such as the option of starting a proxy campaign to oust the board. Another reason why I keep thinking Jack Dorsey might step in and save the day for the shareholders and employees. I can’t believe that most shareholders would be okay with the stock price crashing again with no hope of recovery. Surely, they must be sick of the personal cost of the “woke” investment. That might be what Jack was alluding to when he admitted he contributed to Twitter’s current problems.

In the end, Musk selling his shares and leaving Twitter in ruins may just be the only way to go. If the SEC or DOJ acts to defend wokism above fiduciary duty (which is an issue for all of the ESG initiatives), let the market take them out. Go woke, go broke. There is a lot of that going around lately. Ask Disney.

And now the SEC, DOJ and White House and maybe Congress are threatening to give Musk the Trump treatment:

Is there anyone left here who doesn’t grasp how important it is for Trump to win in 2022 and 2024? There is plenty Trump can do to prevent this. He is THE ONLY ONE DOING ANYTHING!!!

I think the last time I got so drunk from liberal tears was in Nov.. 2016, when Trump won the election.

Lucifer Morningstar | April 15, 2022 at 9:06 am

What’s funny to me is that I don’t know any of those self-important liberal blue check people that are freaking out on Twitter. I have never interacted with them in the past so I won’t care if they leave in the future.

LongTimeReader in reply to Lucifer Morningstar. | April 15, 2022 at 9:44 am

I would like Elon to open a perma ban list so all those wanting to leave can add themselves to the list and when temptation creeps in later they can stew in their own juices.

I would also like him to revoke all blue checks and make everyone reapply for them. Just for spite.

“Today on Twitter feels like the last evening of a Berlin nightclub at the twilight of Weimar Germany.”

You can say that again. You better get your fill of prostitutes, perverts, and prohibited pharmaceuticals tonight… because tomorrow, they may be gone.

LongTimeReader | April 15, 2022 at 9:46 am

This is so much fun to watch. I hope Elon bats Twitter around like a barn cat leisurely amusing itself with a mouse. Toy with them for a good long while for maximum viewing pleasure.

Not sure he can pull it off but I would buy a hundred shares just to pledge them to Elon We are very late to the party but Musk might light a fire under the Silent Majority. Now: How can he buy the Intel Agencies?

Colonel Travis | April 15, 2022 at 10:03 am

I’d rather see him own it than talk about owning it. I am skeptical it will happen.

If he takes over Twitter, it will do very well.
If he doesn’t take over Twitter, it definitely will not do well at all.
    Either way it is win/win.

Colonel Travis in reply to Peabody. | April 15, 2022 at 11:04 am

I think this is wishful thinking. I don’t know how Twitter will not do well with no Elon Musk. They will not change unless forced to. Non-leftists taking glee right now will force Twitter to change anything. The world is all of a sudden going to give up on them?

healthguyfsu in reply to Peabody. | April 15, 2022 at 2:14 pm

      I think it’s overly optimistic.

I remember when Twitter was in the doldrums of the 20’s and going nowhere. They dug out of that hole, so they aren’t exactly at rock bottom.

I think, in retrospect, the end result of all these liberals attacking Musk will be to push him over the edge and cause him to leave the liberal plantation.

Notice the profanity-laden, infantile and obnoxious tweet by D.C.-based attorney, Pam Keith — a former JAG. I only know that because I had to look her up, so appalled am I at her totally juvenile and unprofessional behavior. Keith demonstrates that contemporary Leftists are the most uncivil totalitarians and narcissists around, believing that curse words are substitutes for eloquence, logic and coherence. And, Keith is so un-self-aware that she accuses Musk of possessing a big ego, while “tweeting” this self-aggrandizing, virtue-signaling garbage.

Here is another set of possibilities worth thinking about. Think big… REALLY big.

I hope this guy is right.

All of the above shows how the left has abandoned freedom of speech
