They don’t believe in free speech, they believe in their speech and anyone who disagrees should be silenced.

As much as I dislike Musk I will agree he’s providing entertainment.

IMO Twitter giving employees a day off to deal with their feelings suggests what a mess and sabotage Musk may face if he is successful in taking over the company and how important it is for the country that he not give up on his $3B investment and takeover offer. However, the stock trading yesterday at $45 for an all cash $54 offer says that big money is currently betting the offer will fail. I am a little less pessimistic, as a fair all-cash offer may be legally a problem for their Board to turn down in a very sick stock market for tech stocks.
The game is just getting started. Yesterday, Musk spoke at a TED event and trashed the Saudis for rejecting his bid.

They are looking to push the bid higher but Musk trashed them for their barbaric view of freedom of speech. He should have rephrased that as “freedom of ALL personal freedoms”. Anyway, the issue was price.
Another comment he made concerned the questions surfacing about his liquidity. He offered that although he could afford to buy Twitter outright, he “doesn’t like the economics” of how he would have to do it. That suggests that he is pressing certain hidden parties to get into the fray. He needs OPM “other people’s money”.
This supports the notion that his bid was HIS final offer which didn’t rule out that OPM might be Plan B. It’s well know that Tesla people aren’t keen on his extracurricular activities because of how it affects them and Musk cares about Tesla and what his people think. Considering his objective is not necessarily to own Twitter but to change the ownership to take them private, there are other options.
Such as the option of starting a proxy campaign to oust the board. Another reason why I keep thinking Jack Dorsey might step in and save the day for the shareholders and employees. I can’t believe that most shareholders would be okay with the stock price crashing again with no hope of recovery. Surely, they must be sick of the personal cost of the “woke” investment. That might be what Jack was alluding to when he admitted he contributed to Twitter’s current problems.
In the end, Musk selling his shares and leaving Twitter in ruins may just be the only way to go. If the SEC or DOJ acts to defend wokism above fiduciary duty (which is an issue for all of the ESG initiatives), let the market take them out. Go woke, go broke. There is a lot of that going around lately. Ask Disney.

What’s funny to me is that I don’t know any of those self-important liberal blue check people that are freaking out on Twitter. I have never interacted with them in the past so I won’t care if they leave in the future.
I would like Elon to open a perma ban list so all those wanting to leave can add themselves to the list and when temptation creeps in later they can stew in their own juices.

I remember when Twitter was in the doldrums of the 20’s and going nowhere. They dug out of that hole, so they aren’t exactly at rock bottom.
