Obama Quietly Joins Cancel Culture Mob Going After Joe Rogan and Spotify

Last week, aging rocker Neil Young tried to get podcast host Joe Rogan booted from Spotify, and it backfired. But the left has painted a target on Rogan, and they want him silenced. So now Obama has quietly entered the fray.

Obama has a podcast on Spotify, and it was somehow leaked to the media that he might leave them for another platform.

Adam Manno reports at the Daily Mail:

Are the Obamas leaving Spotify? Barack and Michelle are ‘preparing to shop for a new podcast partner’ amid frustration with the platform and outcry over Joe Rogan as their three-year-deal nears endThe Obamas are said to be shopping for a new podcasting partner because they’re frustrated with the slow pace of development at Spotify, where they’re more interested in introducing new voices than on hosting shows themselves.Former President Barack Obama, 60, and former First Lady Michelle, 58, are looking at new deals with other companies, three podcast industry sources told Insider. The duo’s Higher Ground Audio company signed a three-year deal with Spotify in June 2019, but sources say it can be hard to get a show green-lit at the Swedish music streamer. Moreover, the Obamas are more interested in putting forth ‘young new voices’ rather than on carrying shows themselves, according to Vanity Fair, which first reported rumblings of the couple’s dissatisfaction. The news comes as Spotify faces backlash over Joe Rogan, the most popular podcaster on the platform, over what some call his peddling of COVID-19 misinformation.

Are we supposed to believe this is just a coincidence?

The far left is already rallying the troops over this.

And just so you know this battle was never about COVID misinformation, the left has now reverted to their favorite line of attack by accusing Rogan of racism. Someone made a compilation clip video of Rogan using the “n” word repeatedly on his podcast, omitting any context for it.

Unfortunately, Rogan made the mistake of taking the bait and apologized.

This is from the New York Times:

Joe Rogan Apologizes for ‘Shameful’ Past Use of Racial SlurAs pressure has intensified on Spotify and Joe Rogan, its star podcaster, listeners reported that the company had quietly removed dozens of episodes of his show, while Rogan apologized early Saturday for his use of a racial slur in past episodes. In an Instagram video, Rogan — whose talk show, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” is Spotify’s most popular podcast, and has been available there exclusively for more than a year — addressed what he called “the most regretful and shameful thing that I’ve ever had to talk about publicly.” A compilation video showed Rogan using the slur numerous times in past episodes of his show; it had been shared by the singer India.Arie, who removed her catalog from Spotify in protest of what she called Rogan’s “language around race.”Rogan said the compilation was drawn from “12 years of conversations” on his show, and that it looked “horrible, even to me.” The clips, he said, had been taken out of context, which he said included discussions about how it had been used by comedians like Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx, who were Black, and Lenny Bruce, who was white. Rogan said he has not spoken the slur “in years.”

Popular YouTube podcaster Tim Pool says Rogan is making his situation worse:

Conservative entertainment critic Christian Toto agrees:

Joe Rogan Is Suddenly Doing Everything WrongJoe Rogan thinks his enemies will accept apologies, context and humility. He couldn’t be more wrong on all three fronts. And he’s finding that out in real time.Rogan’s latest battle began when Neil Young removed his music from Spotify, home of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” last month. The classic rocker recoiled at Rogan spreading “misinformation” about COVID-19.Young isn’t a doctor nor a medical expert. He ignored how much misinformation is shared across media landscapes on a variety of topics, including the pandemic. The star who once headlined a Freedom of Speech tour was now attempting to deplatform a comedian for saying the “wrong” thing…Now, Rogan is back on Instagram, offering more apologies for comments he’s made in the past. This time, he responded to someone who edited a series of “JRE” moments where he used the n-word. The comic didn’t assault anyone with the toxic word, he either quoted someone else who used it or shared other stories involving it.The incidents are all several years old. That didn’t matter to his critics, though, who used the clip assortment to renew their attacks on him.

Comedian Tim Dillon, who has been a repeated guest on Rogan’s show and knows him personally, offered this:

Ben Shapiro has also been a guest and he agrees:

Ironically, Joe Rogan enjoys a greater approval rating than Joe Biden, according to a recent poll.

The only question now is whether or not Spotify will cave to the left.
