Two Systems of Justice: Antifa Rioter Gets Case Dismissed With Community Service

“Police said Warner directed a high-powered laser into the eyes of law enforcement officers trying to disperse the crowd”

An Antifa rioter in Portland, Oregon who shined a laser in the eyes of police officers during a riot and was subsequently arrested three times, has had his federal charges dropped after doing community service.

Meanwhile, Trump supporters continue to languish in jail for months over January 6th. We do not have equal justice under the law.

Bradford Betz reports at FOX News:

Portland Antifa rioter charged with assaulting police has case dismissed after 30 hours community service

A Portland Antifa rioter charged last year with assaulting police officers has had a federal case dropped after completing 30 hours of community service, according to court documents.

Eva Warner of Beaverton, Oregon, who police said was also known as Joshua Warner, was charged in September 2020 with felony civil disorder.

On the evening of August 8, 2020, authorities declared a riot at the Portland Police Association office on North Lombard Street in Portland after Antifa members broke windows and set fire to the office. The rioters had also used vehicles and Dumpsters to illegally block traffic, according to the Justice Department.

That summer, Portland, like many other major cities, was facing mass protests that descended into violent rioting in response to the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Portland Police said Warner directed a high-powered laser into the eyes of law enforcement officers trying to disperse the crowd. Warner resisted arrest, prompting officers to use force, the DOJ said. A laser pointer was found on Warner.

Warner was facing five years in jail, but performed community service:

Scott Erik Asphaug, acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon, filed a motion Dec. 21, asking the court to “dismiss with prejudice the indictment against (Warner), in the best interests of justice.” The motion noted that the defendant had performed “at least 30 hours of community service.”

This person looks like a real pillar of society:

Just the News notes that the judge went along with the U.S. attorney:

The next day, U.S. District Court Judge Michael H. Simon dismissed Warner’s indictment “with prejudice,” according to court documents obtained by Fox News.

Fox News said it could not get a comment from acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon Thomas S. Ratcliffe, the Portland Police Association or Warner’s attorney and that the Portland Police declined to comment.

This is not an isolated incident. Not only did the rioters at Trump’s inauguration get away with it, they got a cash settlement from DC over it.

The US has always had a muti-level justice system. It has just become more blatant in the past several years is all.

Every government in history has had it’s ‘elites’ somewhat immune from the common justice system. But none has ever survived when the corruption of that government is complete.

The corruption of our government is complete. America is no more. It’s only a matter of time until the ‘divorce’. And it can’t come soon enough.

Having “elites” get away with corruption, grifting and abuse of power is one thing. Hell, even having the “elites” get away the occasional murder has been going on for decades.

But I think this phenomenon of left wing shock troops running rampant around the country, and having the “DoJ” run cover for them is something new.

I won’t be surprised when vigilantes start feeding scum like this to the hogs.

Get caught setting fires, layering cops eyes, hurtling bricks – no jail time.

Get caught posing for selfie under capital dome on 1/6 – no bail.

Anyone surprised this country is heading towards something dark is a) blind
b) in the grave
c) employed by MSM
d) drawing a federal paycheck

Leftist violence is completely sanctioned by leftist cities, states and now the federal government.

More local to me, a house where I grew up was foreclosed while the owner was in jail (he was a loser, hadn’t paid the mortgage for years) and just as the foreclosure was happening a crime ring commandeers the house and is now using it as HQ for drugs and as a chop shop.

This has been 2 1/2 months and there is no end in sight for the new owners to get them out of there. The police are out there at least once a week. The sheriff speculated it was a cartel house since one of the women who stole a car and was known to be at that house had the ear marks of being a drug mule.

    And they do nothing?
My house that I grew up in sold for $1 by the city, was actually sold and lived in, later torn down for a parking lot

    Just like the song

If you think about it deeply- it would be one thing if this were an unforeseen and unknown problem, but the governor is fully aware of thousands of these situations happening across the state- and he is TAKING NO STEPS to stop it or to unwind the criminal enterprises that are taking advantage of it. In fact the last round of laws passed give the police less power to arrest them or investigate them. The woman I referenced above was literally seen stealing the car from a neighbors house and drove into the ditch and was not taken into custody.

So stew on that part… this is by entirely by design of our state government.

A few years back I wanted to buy the house in question to be next to my family. Now we are watching zillow nightly planning our exit… though it will be a few years due to family ties.

The Dhimmi-crat Get Out of Jail Free/Avoid Disbarment card. — endorsed by crone Clinton, Kevin Clinesmith, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok and too many other Dhimmi-crat luminaries and goose-stepping street thugs to name.

It’s consistent. It’s always show trials.

The most terrifying aspect of this is the fact that there is almost no media pushback on this, and there is no opposition party fighting to rectify this injustice (keep in mind some of the loudest voices calling the J6 protestors “insurrectionists” worthy only of death are Republicans).

The normal methods of keeping totalitarianism at bay simply do not exist in the US anymore, and it is no use pretending otherwise. Don’t be fooled by polls showing that the Communists will take a drubbing in November. Assuming the GOP somehow overcomes massive cheating and voter apathy, there is zero chance of them doing anything other than keeping the seats warm for their Communist pals.

Don’t sell congressional Republicans short, the Attorney General who let Joshua ‘Eva’ Warner off easy is Merrick Garland. If it weren’t for Mitch McConnel, Merrick Garland would have a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

Instead, McConnell voted to make Garland AG. The Biden* junta has gotten 40 Federal judges confirmed – a record for a first year in office. Pretty much every Cabinet nominee has been easily confirmed. In an alleged 50-50 Senate, this is opposition?

      With friends like McConnell……

Oh please with this McConnell saving us from Garland. ANYONE – repeat – ANYONE in the McConnell’s position could have – and should have – killed Garland’s appointment.

McConnell is a corrupt rat of titianic proportions.

It used to be that part of the US justice system was street justice – cops exacting a penalty on the spot when it was obvious, the threat of which was part of keeping order. Italian policemen at the same time were deferential and polite.

Studied in passing in sociologist Erving Goffman’s picture book “Gender Advertisements,” if I’m remembering the source right.

    .

t used to be that part of the US justice system was street justice –

Some of that street justice as administered by the predominant ethnic group of the neighborhood. Plenty of those vandalizing Jewish-owned shops felt the hand of local justice while the cops did nothing.

True, but it was a way to maintain order. That is the direction we are heading.

During the riots of 2020 I will never forget the pictures of armed Latino gangs in Chicago establishing checkpoints and mercilessly harassing blacks and some whites who tried to enter certain areas. Civil order had broken down, and the gangs sensed an opportunity to flex their muscle (and establish a precedent for the future). Or the “autonomous zone” in Seattle that was run by armed warlords.

It is not impossible that America will devolve into a high tech version of Mogadishu.

Yep. Vigilantes need to make a comeback. Cops aren’t willing to make an area safe.

We started getting some meth head “walkers” in our area. Cops “couldn’t” do anything about an increase in thefts. A few
warnings followed by a few beaten up meth heads and the problem moved to another area and left ours.

And now our neighborhood doesn’t have any thefts. Weird.

Antifa is the new mafia.

Don’t kid yourself: the federal government itself is the new Mafia. The FBI, Antifa and BLM are just their goons.

Arminius in reply to MajorWood. | January 3, 2022 at 12:46 am

No, Mao had his Red Guards to conduct revolutionary terror. Pelosi/Schumer/Biden/Harris et al have Antifa/#BLM as their street enforcers to perform the exact same function.

The Left/Democrats has always relied on extra-legal terrorists to terrorize their enemies. 100 years ago it was the KKK.

This is why the DoJ doesn’t track left-wing violence. This is why the DoJ agreed to seal all their arrest records. This is why the Democrats pretended they didn’t even exist, claiming they didn’t exist. But established a bail fund to spring them to jail, using Kamala Harris to front for the fund. And it’s why the Democrats were outraged when Kyle Rittenhouse cost two of their street enforcers their lives, and one his right bicep (guess he’ll have to learn to use his left hand to pleasure himself).

It wasn’t supposed to work that way. Mao’s Red Guards always had their way when they terrorized Mao’s enemies. Pelosi et al assumed their Red Guards would, too.

Think of AI as if-then statements covering every possibility. Look at the input, find the matching condition, and print the response stored there for it.

Obviously that’s not intelligent or even interesting.

All AI is is finding more efficient and compact ways to code that same enormous program.

Look up PARRY, a minor example of this. Look at the input, transform it a little, and respond with it as a question. Early 1960s. Not any progress since then. Secretaries liked to talk to it.

Wait until we realize our intelligence is the same thing combined with memory and a limited ability to modify our code.

rhhardin in reply to Dathurtz. | January 1, 2022 at 2:35 pm

Computers can modify their code, no problem. It doesn’t make them smarter or self-aware. It’s just more mechanization of what could be done without it.

Why is it like something to be me? Science hasn’t the slightest idea. Or as Coleridge put the same problem, matter has no inwards.

Antifa rioter is a trans, that’s the cherry on top … did I say that right?

It would be a real shame if somebody pointed a laser into its eyes.

And President Trump continues to do nothing for the Jan 6th protesters that came because of HIS Clarion call.

I’m getting disgusted with his “I was robbed tour”… we know, put all your effort into fair elections and getting the Jan 6 protesters out instead of this $1000 ticket with Bill O tour.
Otherwise, I’m going for DeSantis

The day Trump stops “I was robbed” is the day set for another such robbery.

SDN in reply to gonzotx. | January 1, 2022 at 8:38 pm

Ah, a Soros troll talking about “Trump’s clarion call”.

Now you’ve done it. Every apologize just of the world is going to yes – but what you just said.

I supported Trump for the 2016 election, after by candidates slowly dropped away. However, I think the man is starting to outlive his welcome. We need a younger candidate and one that isn’t milking the crowd with his pity party.

Yes. He was cheated. But that is over and done with, and the man can at least be decent enough to help out the people that are rotting in jail. All I’m hearing is noise.

Not sure he was the first to do the non prosecution but saw during Barak years Eric Holder was doing this, the Soros DA buying ramped up this tactic and now it’s a common problem in big cities that criminals are not being prosecuted and turned into a underground army attacking the population

henrybowman in reply to Skip. | January 1, 2022 at 4:58 pm

That’s why we have guns, people.
Afraid of getting unconstitutionally prosecuted? Shoot, shovel, and shut up.

Two quotes:

“All government is a shared myth. When the myth dies, so does the government”. – Frank Herbert (Dune).

As Instapundit said some time ago: “When the lower class loses faith in the government, you have riots. When the middle class loses faith in the government, you have revolutions.”

One ANTIFA scum hit a number of conservative students over the head with a heavy U shaped bike lock. He should have been charged with attempted murder, but this was in berzerkley so he pleaded to a misdemeanor with no jail time!
