NY Teacher Faces Charges for Allegedly Injecting Minor With COVID Vaccine Without Parent Consent

Laura Russo COVID vaccine

Laura Russo, 54, faces charges of unauthorized practice of a profession for allegedly injecting a minor with the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine without parent or guardian consent. From NBC New York:

Authorities allege Russo had a vial of an approved COVID-19 vaccine in her home, though police didn’t say where she got it. According to officials, her son had a friend over and the friend asked for the vaccine because his mother allegedly didn’t want to have him inoculated against COVID at this point. The teenager told his mother when he got home that he had gotten the vaccine. She notified the police.

Russo, a science teacher, is not a medical professional. She does not have the qualifications to inject anyone with any kind of medicine or vaccine.

The cops are also investigating how Russo had a dose of the vaccine, which is only recommended for those 18 and up.

NBC New York reported that Russo “appears to be a science teacher with Herrick Public Schools in New Hyde Park.”

The district said the incident did not happen on school property.

Officials also confirmed they reassigned Russo: “The individual in question is a district employee who has been removed from the classroom and reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation.”

A California mom accused her son’s school of bribing him with pizza to get the vaccine. The lady knew she needed parental permission because she begged the student not to say anything.

Makes me wonder how many other children got the vaccine without parental or guardian consent.
