CNN Skewers Biden’s Voter Suppression Lies. Yes, CNN.

CNN Skewers Biden’s Voter Suppression Lies. Yes, CNN.

“New York is one of the most reliably Democratic states in the United States and New York requires people to request absentee ballots, just like the new Georgia law does.”

Very few people were impressed with Biden’s divisive speech about the Democrat “voting reform” bill in Georgia this week. It was full of insults that weren’t even historically accurate.

In an amazing development, CNN’s Erin Burnett called out Biden on the air.

Transcript via CNN:

BURNETT: On the side of right or the side of racism, that’s what’s being presented. Even the second ranking Democrat in the Senate, Dick Durbin, said Biden ‘went a little too far in his rhetoric’ in that particular comment. And a right versus wrong simplistic view here is a problem. First of all, because more people voted than ever before in the last election.

So to just broadly talk about voter suppression may miss that very crucial point. And take vote by mail as one example. Here’s what Biden said this week criticizing Georgia’s new law.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BIDEN: Voting by mail is a safe and convenient way to get more people to vote, so they’re making it harder for you to vote by mail.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BURNETT: Okay. Well, New York is one of the most reliably Democratic states in the United States and New York requires people to request absentee ballots, just like the new Georgia law does. Now, Georgia allows anyone to request an absentee ballot. New York does not. In New York, it’s actually more restrictive, there are specific guidelines as to who can request an absentee ballot.

In fact, back in November, New Yorkers voted down a constitutional amendment that would allow anyone to request an absentee ballot for any reason at all by 55 percent to 45 percent, in an overwhelmingly Democratic state.

And let’s take a look at early voting. Georgia, the new law, the law that sort of Abraham Lincoln versus Jefferson Davis allows for 17 days of early voting, New York only has nine.

Columnist Peggy Noonan was a bit more pointed in her choice of words.

From the New York Post:

Joe Biden’s voting rights speech backfired more than he ever could have imagined

It is startling when two speeches within 24 hours, neither much heralded in advance — the second wouldn’t even have been given without the first — leave you knowing you have witnessed a seminal moment in the history of an administration, but it happened this week.

The president’s Tuesday speech in Atlanta, on voting rights, was a disaster for him. By the end of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s answering speech on Wednesday you knew some new break point had occurred, that President Biden might have thought he was just crooning to part of his base but the repercussions were greater than that; he was breaking in some new way with others — and didn’t know it.

It is poor political practice when you fail to guess the effects of your actions. He meant to mollify an important constituency but instead he filled his opponents with honest indignation and, I suspect, encouraged in that fractured group some new unity.

The speech itself was aggressive, intemperate, not only offensive but meant to offend. It seemed prepared by people who think there is only the Democratic Party in America, that’s it, everyone else is an outsider who can be disparaged.

Biden’s presidency may be effectively over at this point. He’s not likely to get Build Back Better or the voting reform bill. Attention is already shifting to the 2022 midterms. Biden is simply out of time.

I suppose the other media parrots will be saying the same thing. Someone in charge apparently believes it’s time to set Biden’s exit in motion. He’ll be gone by May.

It used to be said, “When EF Hutton talks, people listen.”

But now people say, “When a a friendly bear speaks you better listen…or else.”

Also, “Sell in May and go away.”

Since Biden ain’t worth anything they can’t sell. Maybe he’ll just go away.

I think you underestimate the power of a president to stay in office, and the motivation of his staff to keep their jobs.

You might also be underestimating the trouble that could result from revealing the extent of his disability. I mean, if the press reveals it.

I don’t know any rank and file democrats who believe Biden has any mental problems, or has made any political mistakes.

Xiden will not go away in the sense that you appear to mean, but he will go back into the basement to speak only in press releases written by Ron Klain or God-only-knows” who. He clearly can not be trusted to participate in the midterm election campaigns to elect Dims. He is an impotent lame duck already but, with Kammie next in line, what is left for them to do with him?

Jester Naybor in reply to JoeKDoe. | January 17, 2022 at 4:57 am

Campaign in the midterms with a pledge to impeach both, in the name of bipartisanship? /sarc

      “written by Ron Klain….”

I think the byline should more accurately be “Susan Rice.” This kind of sabotage on our nation is not incompetence, but intentional: the “powers that be” are inserting them into office.

The epidemic of “Soros DA’s” destroying American cities is a great illustration.

Someone in charge apparently believes it’s time to set Biden’s exit in motion.

Nah, the propaganda arm of the democrat party has been ordered to create a narrative whereby they will be able to blame the Biden regime for all the losses they are going to incur in the 2022 midterm elections. You know, “Joe just wasn’t the agent for change we thought he was and he failed us and that’s why we lost the House & Senate.” & “Joe just isn’t the agent for change we thought he was so we’re not going to nominate him for a second term in office.” kind of thing. The democrats won’t be taking the blame for the midterm massacre that is rapidly approaching. But actually show Joe an early exit? Ain’t gonna happen anytime soon.

In his offensive speech Dementia Joe said,

— Lincoln was on the side of the good
— George Wallace was on the side of the bad
— Bull Connor was on the side of the bad

Okay,

— Lincoln was a Republican
— Wallace was a Democrat
— Connor was a Democrat

Hmmm.

That Prog house of cards getting a bit wobbly?

I guess losing 90% of your audience in one month from the nadir of the previous month is hitting home. I guess it DOES matter when no one watches you anymore.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Pasadena Phil. | January 16, 2022 at 1:07 pm

If the ad dollars continue rolling in, they don’t care. But, even the sponsors must realize that CNN’s main audience, airports, has diminished. Not just the Covid nonsense, but that some airports have dropped the channel.

We keep seeing ads filling up the slots but they must be available at lower prices these days. If not now, when the contracts are renegotiated.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | January 17, 2022 at 4:31 pm

Airports didn’t drop CNN. CNN dropped the whole CNN Airport Network (yes, there was such a thing) when it became financially unviable due to the pandemic and rise of streaming services started to cut into their viewership. They are no longer in any airport that I know of. I really don’t know how that move affected the sponsors though.

The network that cried “wolf”. No one listens anymore, even when they tell the truth.

Fortunately, we have reliable news outlets to inform us of the wolves infesting our federal and state governments, and the maggots like Soros and Jeff Bezos and Zuckerberg who fund them.

Time to resurrect the Malaysia Air flight 370 coverage

I recall the networks dropping coverage on this until Rush Limbaugh forced their hand.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to NYBruin. | January 16, 2022 at 3:35 pm

That, or drag out recordings of Larry King droning on and on with that endless-loop background of the plane going into the WTC tower.

They have been firing freaks and perverts for the last few months. Maybe an actual reporter got to put something on their broadcast when no one was looking.

Colonel Travis | January 16, 2022 at 1:02 pm

Hmmm. Useless covid policies are now being criticized, Biden is being criticized. It’s uncanny, the ebb and flow of propaganda. And by “uncanny” I mean “mucho canny.”

What I don’t understand is why more people don’t see how obviously coordinated the bullshit is. Or that it is bullshit.

I’m at a loss…..

“It seemed prepared by people who think there is only the Democratic Party in America, that’s it, everyone else is an outsider who can be disparaged.”

Yes, the goal of all totalitarians is to create the perception that there are only supporters, no dissidents – and if there are dissidents, they are evil or imbeciles. You wouldn’t want to associate with evil imbeciles, would you?

2smartforlibs | January 16, 2022 at 1:26 pm

So you prop the puppet up get him elected and now have an issue with him??

Most surprised is CNN going after the head, so bloom off the rose? they see the end is near? He has become a loose cannon?
Doubt he made that Georga speech written by his own pen.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Skip. | January 16, 2022 at 4:19 pm

He may have, but, someone had to gently take the pen from his hand, and turn it so the point was on the page, and not the cap.

We’ll know that the Biden presidency is for sure over when designated liar Psaki leaves the administration.

Voting Cheating by mail is a safe and convenient way to get more people to vote cheat, so they’re making it harder for you to vote cheat by mail.”

FIFY, #FJB.

I’m a bit surprised nobody sees what CNN is doing. Turn up the heat on Biden. The sooner he steps down, the sooner Harris begins her admin, and gets set up for “re-election.” When that time comes, CNN will be on board with Harris. Otherwise, CNN would not be motivated to report the truth about Biden or his favored legislation. Truth is contrary to CNN’s long-established business model.

    Skip in reply to Q. | January 17, 2022 at 4:47 am

I say often President Kamala is when not if.

    #FJB <-- Disco Stu_ in reply to Q. | January 17, 2022 at 9:04 am

Maybe. But it’s aleady widely known that Kammie’s national “favorable” opinion ratings are even lower than #FJB’s. I can’t see CNNLOL or others in State-controlled media being able to 100% memory-hole that reality.

And she was already widely disliked among Democrats early in the nomination process, as she became better known.

That was before she was dressed up and “elevated” to her present position, of course.

It’s probably that new owner Nick Sandmann asserting a demand for real news.

There is no cost to voting by mail. The fraudster can take advantage of the requirement of a s”secret ballot”. My suggestion is that if you choose to vote by mail, you do not get a “secret ballot”. It is totally trace-able to you.

You want “secret” do it in person.

CBS Sunday Morning was out there up front with at least two pieces repeating the voter lies.

Oh, you guys! I love reading your comments! Keep up the good works!

Don’t be fooled, CNN hasn’t changed, it is simply one of the rats jumping ship. It’s self preservation, nothing more. Things are so bad in so many places and seen as such by so many that those who refuse to acknowledge it and worse, continually excuse and cover up for it, are viewed the same way as the malevolent, self absorbed, arrogant, selfish, ignorant fools who have worked so hard at sinking the ship. Public acclimation for suddenly, belatedly, seeing conditions in the country as they really are by enlightened, intelligent sources the likes of Legal Insurrection is a publicity godsend for CNN.

As bad as things are, and they are bad; as terrible as the entire Biden administration is, and it is terrible; as burdensome, dangerous, and incompetent as our various governments (plural, not just Washington) are, and many are an incompetent, dangerous burden, things will – must – get worse if Biden and his programmers and puppeteers won’t acknowledge the conditions and change themselves….and they won’t.

Succession is a gigantic problem for the country if Biden leaves office before the next election. How it happens is unimportant. He may be coerced into doing it by his handlers (with the accompanying spin), he may just dissolve into full time babbling incoherence, who knows how. But if he goes the country is left with what, Kamala Harris if she’s still Vice President? If she is not, then who, her replacement? Nancy Pelosi? Who decides? Succession is a terrible, looming problem if Biden does not survive until the next election when, it is fervently hoped, some degree of sanity can be returned to our flighty, flimsy national legislatures.

CNN is doing nothing more than trying to remain in the game as the story unfolds. Watch for similar spins from the other MSM players. (See CBS for similar drama.) Don’t be fooled, it has nothing to do with good journalism.

Voice_of_Reason | January 18, 2022 at 3:19 pm

When CNN actually reports honestly on a democrat, they must have decided that democrat is no linger useful. But at least CNN showed a rare instance of truthfulness

Don’t be fooled, it has nothing to do with good journalism; it’s about survival. Things are so bad and so many know that even CNN must acknowledge it. There is simply no way to ignore conditions and almost no where else to turn for positives to report. They simply cannot talk twenty four hours a day seven days a week and ignore the failures and disasters. Throw in that CNN itself is a failing organization and they are left with few if any alternatives. When Democrats themselves begin to make subtle changes, informed by science and consideration and concern for us citizens of course, CNN will praise them loudly as hard working and enlightened.

    CapeBuffalo in reply to Voice_of_Reason. | January 18, 2022 at 7:07 pm

Reason, the reason CNN is dissing Joe is obvious, Erin Burnett, Jeff Zucker and even Don Lemon are all RACISTS just like Sinema and Manchin.
